Buku Struktur Bahasa Simeulue ini semula merupakan nas-kah laporan penelitian yang berjudul "Struktur Bahasa Simeulue", yang disusun oleh tim peneliti Fakultas Keguruan Universitas Syiahkuala dalam rangka kerja sama dengan Proyek Penelitian Pusat tahun 1979/1980. Setelah melalui penilaian dan kemudian disunting oleh Drs. Caca Sudarsa, dari Pusat Pembinaan dan Pe-ngembangan Bahasa, naskah itu diterbitkan dengan dana yang disediakan oleh Proyek Penelit ian Bahasa dan Sastra Indonesia dan Daerah-Pusat
