Early Aspects at ICSE 2007: Workshop on Aspect-Oriented Requirements Engineering and Architecture Design
The “Early Aspects @ ICSE’07” is the 11th workshop in the series of Early Aspects workshops [1] which focuses on aspect identification during the requirements engineering and architecture derivation activities. Hubbard-model description of the high-energy spin-spectral-weight distribution in La(2)CuO(4)
The spectral-weight distribution in recent neutron scattering experiments on
the parent compound LaCuO (LCO), which are limited in energy range to
about 450\,meV, is studied in the framework of the Hubbard model on the square
lattice with effective nearest-neighbor transfer integral and on-site
repulsion . Our study combines a number of numerical and theoretical
approaches, including, in addition to standard treatments, density matrix
renormalization group calculations for Hubbard cylinders and a suitable spinon
approach for the spin excitations. Our results confirm that the
magnitude suitable to LCO corresponds to intermediate values smaller than
the bandwidth , which we estimate to be eV for
. This confirms the unsuitability of the conventional linear
spin-wave theory. Our theoretical studies provide evidence for the occurrence
of ground-state d-wave spinon pairing in the half-filled Hubbard model on the
square lattice. This pairing applies only to the rotated-electron spin degrees
of freedom, but it could play a role in a possible electron d-wave pairing
formation upon hole doping. We find that the higher-energy spin spectral weight
extends to about 566 meV and is located at and near the momentum .
The continuum weight energy-integrated intensity vanishes or is extremely small
at momentum . This behavior of this intensity is consistent with that
of the spin waves observed in recent high-energy neutron scattering
experiments, which are damped at the momentum . We suggest that future
LCO neutron scattering experiments scan the energies between 450 meV and 566
meV and momenta around .Comment: 23 pages, 5 figure

Phonon self-energy corrections to non-zero wavevector phonon modes in single-layer graphene
Phonon self-energy corrections have mostly been studied theoretically and
experimentally for phonon modes with zone-center (q = 0) wave-vectors. Here,
gate-modulated Raman scattering is used to study phonons of a single layer of
graphene (1LG) in the frequency range from 2350 to 2750 cm-1, which shows the
G* and the G'-band features originating from a double-resonant Raman process
with q \not= 0. The observed phonon renormalization effects are different from
what is observed for the zone-center q = 0 case. To explain our experimental
findings, we explored the phonon self-energy for the phonons with non-zero
wave-vectors (q \not= 0) in 1LG in which the frequencies and decay widths are
expected to behave oppositely to the behavior observed in the corresponding
zone-center q = 0 processes. Within this framework, we resolve the
identification of the phonon modes contributing to the G* Raman feature at 2450
cm-1 to include the iTO+LA combination modes with q \not= 0 and the 2iTO
overtone modes with q = 0, showing both to be associated with wave-vectors near
the high symmetry point K in the Brillouin zone
Getting the word out on Twitter: the role of influentials, information brokers and strong ties in building word-of-mouth for brands
Using a sample of over 5300 tweets from top global brands, this study investigated how different types of users can influence brand content diffusion via retweets. Twitter users who influenced followers to retweet brand content were categorized as (1) influentials, because of their above average ability to influence others to retweet their tweets (in general), (2) information brokers, because of their position connecting groups of users or (3) having strong ties, because of their high percentage of friends in common and a mutual friend–follower relationship with the influenced follower. The results indicate that influentials and information brokers are associated with larger number of retweets for brand content. In addition, although information brokers have a larger overall influence on retweeting, they are more prone to do so when influentials are mentioned in the brand tweet, providing support for the strategy that aims to associate the brand with influential users
The Limits on Cosmological Anisotropies and Inhomogeneities from COBE Data
Assuming that the cosmological principle holds, Maartens, Ellis and Stoeger
(MES) recently constructed a detailed scheme linking anisotropies in the cosmic
background radiation (CMB) with anisotropies and inhomogeneities in the large
scale structure of the universe and showed how to place limits on those
anisotropies and inhomogeneities simply by using CMB quadrupole and octupole
limits. First we indicate and discuss the connection between the covariant
multipole moments of the temperature anisotropy used in the MES scheme and the
quadrupole and octupole results from COBE. Then we introduce those results into
the MES limit equations to obtain definite quantitative limits on the complete
set of cosmological measures of anisotropy and inhomogeneity.
We find that all the anisotropy measures are less than 10^{-4} in the case of
those not affected by the expansion rate H, and less than 10^{-6} Mpc^{-1} in
the case of those which are. These results quantitatively demonstrate that the
observable universe is indeed close to Friedmann-Lemaitre-Robertson-Walker
(FLRW) on the largest scales, and can be adequately modelled by an almost-FLRW
model -- that is, the anisotropies and inhomogeneities characterizing the
observable universe on the largest scales are not too large to be considered
