    Interactive Visualization System for Psychological Topology

    Recently, there is increasing interest in mental support activities, including mental health care, counseling, and mental training in workplaces, schools, and sports teams. As a background to these things, various analysis methods have been developed to clarify and visualize the subject’s mental state based on these data. We tried to reveal and visualize the transition patterns of the subjects’ mental states by analyzing their utterances. Furthermore, we developed an interactive system of visualization of psychological state to support visual understanding of psychological topology. Features have been implemented to enable multidimensional data to visualize the movements shown on the SOM map.     Nurses' Practical Wisdom for the Support of Dementia Patients Among Hospital Outpatients

    Purpose: To establish and understand nurses' practical wisdom and interventions of support for dementia and possible dementia patients at hospital outpatient wards. Methods: A qualitative design was used to collect data through semi-structured focus group interviews. The participants were 13 female nurses working at hospital outpatient wards.Data were analyzed using the KJ Method. Results: Seven themes symbolizing the properties of the final label were extracted as follows:‘Observation of patients with focused awareness, and are continuously engaged with their patients',‘Approach to the problems of the patients, and sensitively work to understand the worries of patients based on past cases of problems',‘Looking out for simple ways patients can look after themselves, implicitly and thoroughly, making the best use of the ways that patients are familiar with and which they are able to understand',‘Preparations for scheduled consultations by developing a network to assist with problem prevention and recording episodes about problems involving the patients',‘Requests for cooperation to continue treatment by choosing intermediaries/resources appropriately as based on the importance of the medical treatment',‘Responses that do not conflict with the feelings of the family by considering the possible reluctance of accepting that a family member has dementia', and‘Attitude not to blame matters on dementia by reflecting on how the environment and care ought to be'.’ Conclusion:Nurses' practical wisdom is a type of support provided for patients in a natural manner without being noticed as special or particular by the patients

    Complete chloroplast DNA sequence of the moss Physcomitrella patens: evidence for the loss and relocation of rpoA from the chloroplast to the nucleus

    The complete chloroplast DNA sequence (122 890 bp) of the moss Physcomitrella patens has been determined. The genome contains 83 protein, 31 tRNA and four rRNA genes, and a pseudogene. Four protein genes (rpoA, cysA, cysT and ccsA) found in the liverwort Marchantia polymorpha and the hornwort Anthoceros formosae are absent from P.patens. The overall structure of P.patens chloroplast DNA (cpDNA) differs substantially from that of liverwort and hornwort. Compared with its close relatives, a 71 kb region from petD to rpoB of P.patens is inverted. To investigate whether this large inversion and the loss of rpoA usually occur in moss plants, we analyzed amplified cpDNA fragments from four moss species. Our data indicate that the large inversion occurs only in P.patens, whereas the loss of the rpoA gene occurs in all mosses. Moreover, we have isolated and characterized the nuclear rpoA gene encoding the α subunit of RNA polymerase (RNAP) from P.patens and examined its subcellular localization. When fused to green fluorescent protein, RpoA was observed in the chloroplasts of live moss protonemata cells. This indicates that chloroplast RNAP is encoded separately by chloroplast and nuclear genomes in the moss.
