Авторские элементы в устойчивых композициях книжных миниатюр Страстного цикла в рукописях старообрядцев Урала

This article studies the peculiarities of the iconography of The Passion of Christ cycle in Old Believers’ books of the late eighteenth – nineteenth centuries. The research methodology developed by F. Buslaev and N. Kondakov is based on the study of different approaches to creating book miniatures. They involve revealing the main iconographic features of images, identifying elements of early Christian art, Old Russian heritage, as well as elements of the later influence of Western European art. The analysis of the compositional structure of the miniatures, as well as individual elements of the images makes it possible to carry out a classifying selection of miniatures according to iconographic versions. Each image of the Passion cycle was based either on the pictorial canon that had developed over the centuries or on elements of Western European art, which actively spread to Russia in the seventeenth century in connection with the popularisation of engravings of the Piscator Bible. In addition, through a thorough examination of the miniatures of Old Believers’ manuscripts, it is easy to see quite interesting authorial interpretations of well-known plots. Miniaturists often included original images of the modern era, as if taken out of current life in traditional depictions of scenes from the Passion cycle. Reflecting biblical events, the miniatures bore the mark of the time when the manuscript was created, which is especially well traced in the sketches of everyday life and elements of clothing. It is often possible to see how a miniaturist seeks to convey their own attitude to the events, “explaining” the meaning of the event by selecting a colour scheme, depicting specific facial expressions, emotions, characters’ gestures, interior details, etc. Referring to particular manuscripts which existed in the Urals, the author identifies such elements of novelty and originality of images. They show not only the abundance of creative potential of Old Believer artists, but also a remarkable mind and ability to think and analyse ancient events from the point of view of modern humans, deepening the semantic component of the text and introducing a moral aspect.Статья посвящена исследованию особенностей иконографии Страстного цикла в старообрядческой книге конца XVIII — XIX в. Методика исследования, разработанная в свое время Ф. Буслаевым и Н. Кондаковым, основана на изучении разнообразных подходов к созданию книжной миниатюры. Это выделение основных иконографических черт изображений, выявление элементов раннего христианского искусства, древнерусского наследия, а также элементов позднего влияния западноевропейского искусства. Анализ композиционного построения миниатюр, а также отдельных элементов изображений позволяет провести классификационный отбор миниатюр по иконографическим редакциям. Каждое изображение Страстного цикла опиралось либо на сложившийся в течение столетий изобразительный канон, либо на элементы западноевропейского искусства, активно распространившиеся на Руси в XVII в. в связи с популяризацией гравюр Библии Пискатора. Кроме того, при тщательном рассмотрении миниа­тюр старообрядческих рукописей несложно заметить достаточно интересные авторские прочтения известных сюжетов. Зачастую художники-миниатюристы включали в традиционные изображения сцен Страстного цикла самобытные образы современной эпохи, как будто выхваченные из текущей жизни. Миниатюры, отражая библейские события, несли на себе отпечаток времени создания рукописи, что особенно хорошо прослеживается в зарисовках быта, элементов одежды. Нередко можно увидеть, как миниатюрист стремится транслировать собственное отношение к происходящему, «разъясняя» смысл события подбором цветовой гаммы, изображением особенной мимики, эмоций, жестов персонажей, деталей интерьера и др. На примере отдельных лицевых рукописей, бытовавших на территории Уральского региона, удалось выявить подобные элементы новизны и оригинальности решений. Они показывают не только богатство творческого потенциала старообрядческих художников, но и незаурядный ум, способность мыслить, анализировать давние события с точки зрения современного человека, углубляя смысловую составляющую текста и привнося нравоучительный аспект

Who should miners' trade unions negotiate with?

The article considers the issue of workers’ insecurity in Russian private mining enterprises. The authors reflect on the problem of nominal property and ultimate beneficiaries. A case of JSC Razrez Inskoy in Belovo (Kemerovo Oblast) is described. The authors focus on the fact that in spite of a significant number of trade unions miners have to directly address the state when problems occur. The mining and metallurgical complex of the Russian Federation occupies one of the leading places in the country's economy in terms of industry and foreign currency revenues. The official statistical fact that the mining and metallurgical complex determines the rating of the most profitable companies in Siberia is discussed in the paper. The authors emphasize that eenterprises of the mining and metallurgical complex are city-forming. The authors consider that solution of the key economic problem of nominal or ultimate beneficiaries’ is critically important for trade unions to be able to solve a wide range of modern problems in the frameworks of sustainable development

Birth of ‘Criticism of Historical Reason’: W. Dilthey and I. Kant

W. Dilthey’s program of “criticism of historical reason” was formed in a polemic with the legacy of I. Kant on the basis of transcendental reflection of the data of descriptive psychology. It was focused on understanding the radical difference between the sciences of the spirit and the sciences of nature. Starting from a critical rethinking of Kant's legacy within the boundaries of his own version of the academic philosophy of life, Dilthey began to talk about the fact that the reason, directing the cognitive activity of the subject, is characterized, first of all, not by the theoretical “purity”, but by its involvement in the “open” flow of history, which it gives meaning and sense through language. It interacts with historical experience, which arises through the synthesis of actual events perception in the time flow and memory images with real categories and concepts constructed by the intellect of the human subject. The ability to judge what is happening in history, its assessment in a humanistic perspective, is also considered by Dilthey as inseparable from the work of historical reason. The reason involved in the flow of time and life cannot be a carrier of theoretical “purity” and acts as inherently hermeneutic in its nature. Dilthey presented an interesting analysis of the main levels of hermeneutical procedure - emotional perception, expression and understanding, aimed at comprehension of the diversity of spiritual and cultural worlds in synchrony and diachrony of their existence. Denying the possibility of comprehending the meaning and sense of history by constructing substantialist schemes, he asserted the importance of narrative representation of the past in the light of the present. Dilthey's project of “criticism of historical reason” was based on the idea of the “openness” of the meaning of the past, due to its rootedness in the very way of human existence in time. This idea was inherited and further developed in the horizon of the fundamental ontology of M. Heidegger and other contemporary thinkers of hermeneutical orientation

«...Дождались и мы жестокой зимы...»: к истории происхождения старообрядческого духовного стиха

The author analyzes a well-known Old Believer spiritual poem in different manuscripts in order to reveal the historical context of the events described in the poem. Comparing facts and determining the location of geographic sites, and chronology, the author was able to single out the real components of the poem that prove that it was written following the tragic events of 1848, i. e. the attack on Old Believers’ St Laurentius Monastery (Gomel Region). Additionally, the author describes the role the poem played not only for traditional but also classical music culture as its text and melody were once used in an opera (M. Mussorgsky’s Khovanshchina).В статье проводится анализ одного из известных старообрядческих духовных стихов в разных списках с целью выявить историческую подоплеку описанных в стихе событий. Путем сопоставления фактов, определения местонахождения упомянутых в стихе географических объектов, хронологии удалось определить реальные составляющие лирического произведения, доказывающие, что написано оно в связи с трагическими событиями 1848 г. – разгромом правительственными войсками старообрядческого Лаврентиева монастыря (Гомельская обл.). Кроме того, отмечается роль этого стиха в развитии не только традиционной, но и классической музыкальной культуры, поскольку его текст и напев был в свое время использован в оперном искусстве (М. Мусоргский «Хованщина»)

Иконография «Страстей Христовых» в старообрядческой традиции (на примере списков из уральских книгохранилищ)

Research on Old Believer manuscript artefacts containing the apocryphal The Passion of Christ has allowed scholars to investigate the creation of text and images for this narrative. As a result of comparing and contrasting texts from Old Believer printed books and manuscripts (eighteenth to the early twentieth centuries), the foundational editions of this artefact are identified. The development of pictorial elements, such as the inclusion of new elements in individual images and entire compositions, is directly dependent on changes to the text. Borrowing from F. I. Buslaev’s comparative historical method for researching miniatures, the author analyses five manuscripts collected in Ural region. It provides the opportunity to define three sustained pictorial editions of the Passion cycle. The peculiarities and distinctions of these editions consist in the presence of certain standards in the positioning of figures and basic motifs within the miniatures. The considered manuscripts present different variants in the illuminated reproductions of the artefact: detailed text summaries that focus attention on elements of the narrative and the heterogeneity of the miniatures attached to them; the investigation of the iconographic tradition of Russian art and the copying of individual narratives from icons; and the unusual combination of folk art techniques with West European engraving samples (widely used in miniature art).The miniatures for the Passion cycle reflect three fundamental processes in the development of Russian art at the time: the maintenance of the canon of Old Russian painting, the influence of Western European art, and the ubiquitous presence and influence of decorative folk art on the artistic work of manuscript scribes.Исследование старообрядческих списков литературного апокрифического памятника «Страсти Христовы» позволяет проследить процесс формирования текстовой и изобразительной частей этого сочинения. В результате сравнения и сопоставления текстов старообрядческих печатных книг и рукописей XVIII — начала XX в. удалось выявить основные типы текстовых редакций памятника. В непосредственной зависимости от изменения текста находится развитие изобразительного ряда памятника — включение новых элементов в изображения и целых композиций. С опорой на сравнительно-исторический метод исследования миниатюр Ф. И. Буслаева был проведен анализ иконографии пяти рукописей, собранных на территории Уральского региона. Это дало возможность определить три устойчивые изобразительные редакции Страстного цикла. Редакционные особенности и различия обусловлены наличием определенных стандартов в расположении фигур и основных мотивов на пространстве миниатюры. В рассмотренных списках представлены различные варианты лицевого воспроизведения памятника: подробные текстовые обобщения, акцентирование внимания на деталях сюжета и разнообразии миниатюр к ним; следование иконописной художественной традиции русского искусства и копирование отдельных сюжетов икон; необычное соединение элементов народной художественной культуры, в частности, приемов оформления предметов декоративно-прикладного искусства с широко распространенным в искусстве миниатюры использованием западноевропейских гравюрных образцов.Процесс формирования миниатюр Страстного цикла отразил три основные тенденции развития русского искусства этого времени: сохранение канона древнерусской живописи, влияние западноевропейского искусства, а также повсеместное присутствие и воздействие народного искусства на художественное творчество оформителей рукописей

Diffraction of a plane elastic wave by a gradient transversely isotropic layer

The problem of diffraction of a plane elastic wave by a gradient transversely isotropic layer is considered. Using the method of overdetermined boundary value problem in combination with the Fourier transform method, the system of ordinary differential equations of the second order with boundary conditions of the third type is obtained which is solved by the grid method. Results of calculations obtained using the above-mentioned technique for the case of piecewise linear profiles for the Young modulus of the layer are given. © 2013 Anastasiia Anufrieva and Dmitrii Tumakov
