Cool spots on the surface of the active giant PZ Mon

Based on the multiband (BVRIJHKL) photometric observations of the active red giant PZ Mon performed for the first time in the winter season of 2017-2018, we have determined the main characteristics of the spotted stellar surface in a parametric three-spot model. The unspotted surface temperature is Teff=4730 K, the temperature of the cool spots is Tspot=3500 K, their relative area is about 41%, and the temperature of the warm spots is Twarm=4500 K with a maximum relative area up to 20%. The distribution of spots over the stellar surface has been modeled. The warm spots have been found to be distributed at various longitudes in the hemisphere on the side of the secondary component and are most likely a result of its influence.Comment: 5 pages, 7 figure

© 2016, Pleiades Publishing, Ltd.We report the results of observations of a WZ Sge-type dwarf nova ASASSN-14cv, acquired in 2014 and covering the end of a superoutburst and a rebrightening stage. We detected 8 rebrightenings of this star. Based on the light curve profiles of the rebrightenings, we conclude on the existence of both the “inside-out” and “outside-in” outbursts. During the entire course of the rebrightening stage, a brightness variability with the mean period of P = 0.d06042(8) was detected, which was identified as a superhump period during the stage B of the superoutburst. The character of the registered superhump evolution can be either described by a parabolic approximation with the negative Pdot = −1.1 × 10−5, or by an approximation with 2 linear areas with the corresponding periods of 0.d06074(3) and 0.d06046(9)

<p>Abstract</p> <p>Background</p> <p>Modification of fatty acids (FA) composition in erythrocytes lipids as an early indicator of the development of arterial hypertension (AH) and lipid disorders.</p> <p>Methods</p> <p>We included 34 patients with arterial hypertension and 11 healthy individuals. Each patient was examined the lipid composition of serum. From erythrocytes by gas chromatography were identified fatty acids. The quantitative composition of the erythrocyte lipids FA in patients with AH presented with saturated and polyunsaturated monoenic acids with carbon chain lengths from C12 to C22.</p> <p>Results</p> <p>In all hypertensive patients is disturbed lipid FA composition of erythrocytes. The patients with a normal level of serum lipids revealed deficiency of polyunsaturated acids n6-linoleic (18:2 n6), arachidonic (20:4 n6), dokozatetraenic 14,4% (22:4 n6). The patients with dislipidemia installed more profound restructuring of the lipid matrix of the membrane of erythrocytes. A decrease in polyunsaturated fatty acids family n3: dokozapentaenovoy (22:5 n3), docosahexaenoic PUFA (22:6 n3), the total value of n3 PUFA in 1,3 times was revealed.</p> <p>Conclusion</p> <p>Thus, modification of erythrocyte FA are fairly subtle indicator of pathology of lipid metabolism, which manifest themselves much earlier than changes in the lipoprotein of blood plasma.</p

The aim of present study was to establish the relationship between the level of blood serum cytokines and indexes of pulmonary function as well as to identify the markers of evolving dysfunction of small airways in obese patients with partially controlled mild bronchial asthma. We have examined 53 patients with mild asthma of partially controlled clinical course complicated with obesity (I-II degree). The control group consisted of 25 healthy volunteers. All participants underwent spirometry, bodyplethysmography. Tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNFα), interferon gamma (IFNγ), interleukins (IL) IL2, IL-4, IL-6, IL-10, IL-17A were determined in blood serum. In the patients with partially controlled mild asthma, an increase in IL-17A by 55.8%, and IL-4 by 44.9% was detected, regardless of body mass. According to the results of cluster analysis, two sub-groups were discerned, depending on the state of the small airways and the levels of pro- and anti-inflammatory cytokines. The dysfunction of small airways was shown to be accompanied by hypercytokinemia being more common in bronchial asthma with predominant Th1-and Th17-immune responses. We have revealed an association between IL-17A, IL-6 levels and functional indices reflecting the state of the small airways, as well as correlation between IFNγ and the indices of bronchial obstruction. The features of pulmonary function were found to be dependent on the cytokine status in mild asthma with obesity. Two immuno-functional variants were identified, differing in activity of systemic inflammation, type of immune response, and functional state of the small airways. The revealed relationships allow us to consider IL-17A, IL-6 and IFNγ as markers of small airways dysfunction in mild asthma of partially controlled clinical course associated with obesity
