AbstractDimethylgold(III) complexes with S,S donor ligands having AuC2S2 coordination core are compared as precursors for gold MOCVD. Three of them are liquids, the fourth one is low-melting compound. They are non-sensitive to air and light, stable under storage, do not require special handling conditions, and show a good volatility and sufficient vaporization stability. Based on monitoring of the gas phase during the programmed heating of the compound vapor in vacuum, in hydrogen and in oxygen presence, the information concerning stability of the precursor in the gas phase and gaseous products of thermolysis was obtained. It was established that decomposition mechanism in the presence of the studied gas- reactants changed in comparison with vacuum only for diethyldithiocarbamate complex. MOCVD experiments have been performed within the temperature range 210-300 oC with and without hydrogen or oxygen. The films obtained in hydrogen presence were more thick indicating higher growth rate. Effect of gas-reactant on the morphology of the films deposited is discussed

The role of comparative research in the development of multiculturalism within educational systems

Abstract. Internationalization has become an integral part of education. The internationalization of education, by its very nature, cannot be considered solely as part of a single culture or single country's educational system. The development of multiculturalism within education is widely discussed, but often suffers from the limited body of research based on comparative studies. The focus of this paper is to address theoretical approaches and fundamental models to aid in the development of multiculturalism within educational systems. Introduction This article focuses on the analysis of approaches that define the essence of internationalization. We review the history of comparative research, identifying the role of comparative studies in the development of multicultural education, and present models to help guide educational systems in their goals related to the development of multicultural education

Hantavirus in African Wood Mouse, Guinea

Hantaviruses are rodentborne, emerging viruses that cause life-threatening human diseases in Eurasia and the Americas. We detected hantavirus genome sequences in an African wood mouse (Hylomyscus simus) captured in Sangassou, Guinea. Sequence and phylogenetic analyses of the genetic material demonstrate a novel hantavirus species, which we propose to name "Sangassou virus.

Mastomys natalensis and Lassa Fever, West Africa

PCR screening of 1,482 murid rodents from 13 genera caught in 18 different localities of Guinea, West Africa, showed Lassa virus infection only in molecularly typed Mastomys natalensis. Distribution of this rodent and relative abundance compared with M. erythroleucus correlates geographically with Lassa virus seroprevalence in humans

Multicultural Pedagogy Development in Modern Education

Although there is a growing interest in the influence of multicultural issues in education, there is still a lack of theoretically well-grounded comparative analyses of educational systems. Topics such as problems and prospects involved in the development of multicultural pedagogy are broadly discussed, but often suffer from an insufficient number of empirical and comparative studies. The lack of systemic or unified research in the field of multicultural education has reduced multicultural pedagogy within education to the simple implementation of individual training courses. As a result, multicultural pedagogy is generally oriented only toward the needs of a single country, rather than toward a system of multicultural interests that takes into account the interests of multiple countries. As a result, we must develop methods that will enable the realization of true multicultural pedagogy. The leading objective should be, firstly, the consideration of the individual as a subject of culture in a multicultural environment with a goal to determine the significance of the formation of an individual's multicultural qualities; secondly, the development of an integrative approach. Comparative studies are taking the lead in addressing this goal and recommending specific steps to incorporate multicultural pedagogy more systematically into an existing education system in every country. This paper addresses these problems by discussing theoretical questions behind the development of the ideological basis of multicultural pedagogy. Keywords: multicultural pedagogy, comparative and non-comparative models, approaches toward integration, comparative research For decades, scientists have made a few advances in research regarding the integration of cultural studies with pedagogy (Kraus, 2006

Karyotypes of two rare rodents, Hapalomys delacouri and Typhlomys cinereus (Mammalia, Rodentia), from Vietnam

Karyotypes of Hapalomys delacouri (Rodentia, Muridae) and Typhlomys cinereus (Rodentia, Platacanthomyidae) from Vietnam are described for the first time. The diploid karyotype of H. delacouri is 38 (NFa=48), consisting of six pairs of bi-armed and 12 pairs of acrocentric autosomes decreasing in size; plus a large metacentric X chromosome and Y chromosome, also metacentric, that is equal in size to the largest pair of acrocentric autosomes. The newly described karyotype differs significantly from that reported for H. delacouri from northern Thailand. The latter record very likely represents a different species of Hapalomys, possibly the taxon H. pasquieri described from north-central Laos. The diploid karyotype of Typhlomys cinereus is 38 (NF=48), consisting of five pairs of meta- to submetacentric and 14 pairs of acrocentric chromosomes varying in size from large to small; sex chromosomes were not defined
