IoT Based Indoor Calathea Ornamental Plant Monitoring and Control System: Sistem Pemantauan dan Pengendalian Tanaman Hias Calathea Indoor Berbasis IoT

Calathea is a popular indoor ornamental plant known for its beautiful foliage and requires consistent environmental monitoring. This study aims to develop an IoT-based system to monitor soil moisture levels and air temperature for indoor Calathea plants, as well as to control a water pump using the Blynk application. The system utilizes a NodeMCU ESP8266 microcontroller integrated with a soil moisture sensor, a DHT11 sensor, and a DC pump controlled via a 5V relay. It operates in two modes automatic and manual allowing users to remotely monitor and manage plant conditions. Black Box testing shows that the system functions effectively in maintaining optimal conditions for plant health. The implementation of this system enhances the efficiency of plant care and offers a practical solution for smart indoor farming

Mies van der Rohe und Japan

Mies van der Rohe und Japan Untersucht werden inhaltliche Parallelen zwischen Raum bei Mies van der Rohe und Raum in der traditionellen japanischen Baukultur. Ausgangspunkt ist die Entwicklung von Raum im Werk Mies van der Rohes, die in drei Kapiteln abgehandelt wird. Dafür wird das Mies'sche OEuvre in unterschiedliche Schaffensphasen gegliedert und für jede dieser Phasen ein Projekt als Repräsentant gewählt, an dem die räumlichen Phänomene studiert werden: das Projekt für ein Landhaus in Backstein, der Pavillon für die Weltausstellung in Barcelona, das Haus Farnsworth. Der Ausformulierung von Raum bei Mies werden Aspekte des traditionellen japanischen Hauses beziehungsweise der japanischen Kultur zur Seite gestellt, die dem jeweiligen Haus bei Mies als 'Assoziationen'zugeordnet sind. Am Ende der drei Kapitel werden unterschiedliche Wege des Austauschs zwischen Japan und dem Westen aufgezeigt, die mögliche Bezüge zu Mies van der Rohe aufweisen. Auf diese Weise vernetzen sich die Werkphasen bei Mies mit Aspekten der japanischen Kultur und den aufgespürten Mittlern zwischen Ost und West.Mies van der Rohe and Japan This study investigates contentual parallels between the concept of space used by Mies van der Rohe and space in traditional Japanese residential buildings. The point of origin of the investigation is the development of space in the work of Mies van der Rohe, theme of three chapters. The Miesian Oeuvre is divided into three periods of creation, for each of which one representative project is chosen for the study of spatial phenomenons: the project for a brick country house, the pavilion for the world fair in Barcelona, House Farnsworth. The formulation of space in Mies' work is viewed side by side with aspects of Japanese culture respectively of space in traditional Japanese houses, assigned to Mies' houses as 'associations'. At the end of each chapter different ways of exchange between Japan and the West are pointed out, with possible connections to Mies van der Rohe. Thus this study can be read connecting one creational period of Mies with aspects of Japanese culture and the associated intermediaries between East and West
