Emerging and frontier markets in Africa have witnessed various economic and financial reforms aimed at integrating the domestic markets into the global financial market to attract investment. Whether these reforms promote high economic growth remains inconclusive. The paper applies the pooled mean group estimation technique to empirically re-investigate the link between financial market development, global financial crisis, and economic growth in selected African economies. The results strongly support our hypotheses that stock market and banking sector development promotes economic growth in the selected countries. Moreover, financial crisis reduce the positive effects of both the stock market and banking sector developments on economic growth. The study suggests that both the banking sector and stock market are important to deliver the long-run economic growth that the African region desired. Moreover, effort should be made to enact policy measures that would ensure development of the stock market which has received inadequate attention.info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersio

Through the major mining operators, mining resources are one of the driving factors for Madagascar. However, for gold small panners, the volatility of their daily income has an influence on their source of income, possibly on their standard of living and by rebound to the development of their respective localities. The methodology adopted is both quantitative and qualitative. Its eventual realization requires a priori passing through the chronological order of the following activities: bibliographic research and webography, field trips to collect data and see firsthand the reality of gold mining technology.  The result of this work has led to the development of the new artisanal gold mining technology: the cyclone separator. This article consists of modeling and simulating the geometry and the principle of operation of the separator. The operation is assessed through two main performance indicators, separating efficiency and speed. The geometry, the separation regime and the properties of minerals are the three groups of parameters that affect the performance of the separation device. The variable fluid separation within the separating cyclone was studied by numerical simulation with ANSYS
