Weyl Modules for Classical and Quantum Affine algebras
We define a family of universal finite-dimensional highest weight modules for
affine Lie algebras, we call these Weyl modules. We conjecture that these are
the classical limits of the irreducible finite--dimensional representations of
the quantum affine algebras. We prove this conjecture in the case of affine
sl_2. We establish a criterion for these modules to be irreducible and prove a
factorization theorem for them in the general case
Minimal Affinizations of Representations of Quantum Groups: the simply--laced case
We continue our study of minimal affinizations for algebras of type D, E.Comment: 25 page
The impact of teacher renewal seminars on classroom practices : a case study of selected participants of the North Carolina Center for the Advancement of Teaching
This embedded single-case study examined the impact on school and classroom practices of selected K - 12 teachers who had attended professional development renewal seminars at the North Carolina Center for the Advancement of Teaching (NCCAT). The guiding hypothesis was that teacher renewal as evinced by a teacher's experiences at NCCAT resulted in changes in the areas collectively identified as school and classroom practices. Each teacher subject was involved in an NCCAT renewal seminar designed to assist teachers, with little or no expectation for benefits to students. The assumption that renewal experiences, unlike reform experiences, affect only teachers and not students was questioned
Yangians, Integrable Quantum Systems and Dorey's rule
We study tensor products of fundamental representations of Yangians and show
that the fundamental quotients of such tensor products are given by Dorey's
rule.Comment: We have made corrections to the results for the Yangians associated
to the non--simply laced algebra
