Border region structures

The aim of this analysis is to follow theoretically the way, how a border area becomes an integrated, well-functioning border zone. The definitions and classifications lead up to the concepts of cross-border space generally constructed in the 1990’s, in the works of Ratti, Renard or Sanguin. The spatial organization of cross-border regions is generally represented in schematic maps, including more or less objects (border line, rivers, roads, railroads, canals, cities and other settlements, etc.) and flows (capital, labor-power, tourists, migration, etc.). Maps for different border types and levels of cross-border cooperation use different elements and seem not comparable. We summarize these different maps and suggest some modifications and extensions, offering a more general tool for the theoretical analysis. A horgászturizmus

Among the tourism possibilities the angling tourism is a little neglected. However, Hungary’s possibilities in this issue are quite rich. Hungary has two big rivers, the Danube and Tisza, in addition there are several lakes, and we do not forget to list the numerous oxbows there were create in the XIXth century during the river control of Tisza. Tourism is an option to take advantage of this potential. Each city, region and country has the possibility to use it in his development ideas. The research aim is double: At first, to show the problems of the definition of angling tourism, and of angling tourist in the tourism system.A turizmus különböző termékei közül a horgászturizmusra csak néha-néha fordul nagy figyelem. Mindemellett nem szabad elfeledkezni arról, hogy Magyarország természeti adottságai e tekintetben igen gazdagok: hazánk két fő folyója a Duna és a Tisza, különféle tavaink, illetve a Tisza XIX. századi szabályozásából visszamaradó Tisza menti holtágak kitűnő alapot nyújtanak a horgászathoz illetve a horgászturizmus kialakításához. A turizmus lehetőséget kínál minden településnek, területnek a természeti erőforráson történő fejlesztésre. A kutatás célja kettős: bemutatni a horgászturizmus kevés számú definícióját és elhelyezni azt a turizmus rendszerének egészében. A turizmus térszerkezeti hatása a határrégiókban

The role and importance of cross-border regions is in the focus of scientific research for a long ago. The theory' of spatial interactions of different actors is an issue of different scientific fields. From the practical side, the regional policy of the European Union has a wide set of instruments for these special - often periferic, underdeveloped, or even in capability for being pioneer of development - areas. With long peace years and expansion of touristic flows, tourist regions models appeared in the tourism geography literature. However, only a few models of cross-border tourist regions are known, and surprisingly most of them are based on North American evidence. We summarize these results with special attention to F.uropean experiences and offer new interdisciplinary research area

Az európai kikötői teherforgalom koncentrációja

European transport networks are characterized by increasing concentration of traffic. Sea freight harbours are in a special situation as they are naturally located in a limited space, on seashores. The goal of the paper is to analyse the concentration of the freight loaded and unloaded in European regions having sea harbours. We have time series data after the millennium, thereby we can also provide a dynamic description of the process, the divergence of harbours. The empirical evidence is based on the most common indices of concentration.Az európai közlekedési hálózatokat a forgalom növekvő koncentrációja jellemzi. Különleges helyzetben vannak a tengeri teherkikötők, hiszen ezek eleve a kontinens szük területén, a tengerpartokon helyezkednek el. A tanulmány célja, hogy a kikötőkben ki- és berakott áruk mennyiségének területi koncentrációját vizsgálja azokban a régiókban, amelyek rendelkeznek tengeri kikötővel. A rendelkezésre álló adatok az ezredforduló utáni időszak tendenciáinak elemzését is lehetővé teszik, így nem csupán helyzetképet kapunk a koncentrációról, de annak dinamikájára is következtetéseket vonhatunk le. Az elemzés a területi statisztika széles körben használt koncentrációs mérőszámainak segítségével készült.&nbsp
