The Multifaceted Problems of the Diaspora as Revealed in the Novel Kadavucheetu

Get PDF
In primitive society, people migrated from one place to another, either individually or in ethnic groups, due to herding, hunting, and natural disasters. Subsequently, while immigration continued in the Sangam period, the kappiyam period, and the Bhakthi period, the background of migration over time began to intensify due to poverty, ethnic strife, and political crises. From the novel 'Kadavucheetu' by the expatriate Tamil novelist V. Jeevakumaran that contemporary emigration is very painful and has caused many losses in life. The study identifies the biological problems faced by Tamils who fled their homeland to Sri Lanka, lost their ties, lost their possessions and fled to Denmark as refugees, and their multiple losses, as shown in the passport novel

Parotid lipoblastoma in a child: Rare presentation as huge infratemporal mass with cervical extension

No full text
Lipoblastomas arising within the parotid gland and extending into the infratemporal fossa are very rare. They are common in children < 3 years of age. Access to the tumour requires careful planning and interpretation of imaging studies. Lipoblastomas tend to recur. Meticulous dissection of the tumour is needed to prevent recurrence. By adopting the appropriate approach, complete removal is possible with minimal morbidity

In recent times, an identification and classification of brain tumour become more essential to save human life. Brain tumour detection is considered most challenging problem and many researchers are finding optimized solution for early diagnosis. It occurs because of the irrepressible growth of cells in the brain and classified as malignant and benign tumour. In this research work, an automatic brain tumour detection system using CNN with Softmax and CNN with Multiclass SVM (M-SVM). It was clearly comprehend that the correct learning procedures and matching must yield perfect results. A database of the medical image was complex to divide. Classifying and identifying brain tumour a novel learning procedure, the combination of CNN and M-SVM were used to classify the input MRI Brin image is tumour or non-tumour. This Proposed method evaluated by the fig share dataset and proves the proposed method produced high accuracy. Evaluation and testing of the process used 5 fold validation process with Harvard, Radiopaedia and Figshare dataset. The proposed methods evaluated using Figshare dataset and classifier produced classification accuracy of 98.9% of CNN with Softmax and produced an accuracy of 99.2% of CNN with M-SVM

A Review on the Design and Application of Compliant Mechanism-Based Fast-Tool Servos for Ultraprecision Machining

The compliant mechanism (CM)-based fast-tool servo (FTS) is used in ultraprecision machining contexts to produce high value products for technically advanced applications. Far too often, the FTS’ machined products are expected to be geometrically complex with minimal form tolerance and surface roughness. Since the FTS’ enclosing CM is responsible for guiding the cutting motion, its design is of utmost importance in determining the quality of the machined product. The objective of this paper is therefore to review specifically the design and structural related aspects of CM-based FTS that affects its ultraprecision machining performance. After a brief introduction, the fundamentals for designing ultraprecision capable CMs such as flexure hinge modelling, actuator selection and isolation and CM designing are comprehensively explained. In the subsequent section, the various configurations of CM-based FTSs that exist so far and their functionalities are listed. The critical factors which impact the CM-based FTS’ ultraprecision machining performance are identified and mitigating measures are provided wherever possible. Before concluding, the research questions that should be investigated for raising the state of the art of CM-based FTSs are presented as food for thought. With this review article, not only can practitioners have a clearer picture of how better to design their CMs for their FTSs, but they can also improve upon existing FTS designs from leading researchers so that products of higher quality than before can be made for the future
