© Medwell Journals, 2016.The study is devoted to the phenomenon of euphemization in German political discourse. Political discourse is regarded here as the unique system marked by its specific linguistic means, speech strategies and tactics alongside with the manipulative techniques, the main aim of which is the indirect formation of public opinion. Being broadly used and not always recognized by the recipient, euphemisms represent one of such techniques. They allow a politician "to veil" the negative sides of unbiased reality and to diffuse the reaction of the audience to the outlined problems. Thus the current research is aimed to reveal the linguistic means of euphemistic disguise in German political texts and is based on the data of public speeches and interviews of the German Chancellor Angela Merkel which were published on the official administrative websites. Our primary task is to reveal the mechanisms of semantic influence of political euphemism on the mass audience. In the framework of our research we are particularly interested in the problem of manipulative capacity of euphemisms. The research of the phenomenon of euphemization in discursive light allowed us to reveal highly productive means of reduction of negative connotation on different linguistic levels in German political texts (for instance the application of semantically diffusive lexemes, diplomatic clichés and set phrases, the introduction of lexemes with positive connotation) and to outline general tendencies in political euphemization. As a result of the analysis made it was revealed that the influential force of different means of euphemization is variable and the frequency of euphemistic markers on different levels is significantly different as well. It may be noted here that the euphemization of the political discourse on the one hand enables easing of the reception of factual information but on the other allows its distortion being adjacent to disinformation. The results of the research (mechanisms of euphemization) can be applied in the further studies of cognitive and pragmatic aspects of formation of the political discourse, theoretical issues of political rhetoric and methods of creation of manipulative techniques

© 2017, Slovenska Vzdelavacia Obstaravacia. All rights reserved. This paper presents a case study of using multimedia laboratory Sanako 1200 for teaching English as a foreign language (TEFL) at Kazan Federal University. The research outlines the basic functions and features of the software Sanako 1200, determining the benefits and drawbacks of this multimedia study in TEFL, and provides practical examples of its usage. The current interest in the problem lies in the growing popularity of the computer-assisted language learning (CALL) in higher education. On the one hand, with CALL technologies, instructors diversify TEFL methods and means, but on the other, introducing computer technologies can be challenging for teachers and learners. The purpose of the study was to reveal whether university students and teachers consider Sanako beneficial for their English language learning/teaching. The data used in this study come from quantitative (closed-and open-ended response questionnaire) and qualitative (face-to-face interview) methodology. To collect the data, second-, third-and fourth-year students (N=135) were asked to complete a questionnaire and teachers (N=10) were interviewed. The findings indicate to high motivation of university students to apply multimedia training tool Sanako in EFL learning. However, a number of technical hurdles revealed require special consideration of the problem. The findings have important implications for further use of Sanako labs at university

Dialogue and communication in interliterary process: (The study of Russian - Tatar literary interconnections of the first half of the XX century)

The paper deals with the problem of literary interconnections in Tatar and Russian. The notions of dialogue and communication are regarded as two types of literary interconnections. The diachronic studies of the poetical translations of Russian classics encompass a wide variety of approaches. The dialogical approach to the translations dated back to the beginning of the XX century can be traced in the free attitude of Tatar poets to the translated texts. The strategy of the accurate translation was developed in the frames of the communicative approach in 1930s. The approaches mentioned above are revealed in the critical articles, which, dealing with the problem of literary interconnections in Tatar and Russian, estimate the correlations between the oeuvre of Russian and Tatar writers in a variety of ways. G.Kutuy's critical articles clearly demonstrate the dialogical and communicative approaches. The dialogical interpretation of literary interconnections is based on the idea of equality in national literatures

The article reports on the results of the research aimed at describing graphic, lexical and pragmatic means used in commentaries on photos posted to Russian and German websites "Yandex.Photos" (htpp://www.fotki.yandex.ru/), "Photo.Life" (htpp://www.lifeisphoto.ru/), "Photo.Sight" (htpp://www.photosight.ru/), "fotocommunity.de" (www.fotocommunity.de/). Theoretically, a lot of contemporary studies in computer-mediated communication do not include the linguistic research of photo sites, although this type of computer-mediated is gaining popularity in our country and abroad, alongside with twitter-communication, studies of youtube, sms-studies and other new media. While some studies indicate that linguists are not much involved in studying pictures, others suggest that the research of Flickr.com and other world-wide known photo-sharing platforms (for ex, Ipernity.com, Yandex photos) could reveal, which strategies users commonly prefer, expressing their comments to photos and which linguistic means they use to express (verbalize) their thoughts, ideas and emotions. The semantic lexical analysis of the replies was applied to reveal the borrowings and colloquial expressions. On the pragmatic level the research is based on the speech act theory to reveal the speech acts and to classify them. The study revealed that commenting on photographs, Russian and German users select one or more of the three communicative strategies: rational, emotional and creative with the emotional being predominant. Empirical evidence confirms, that the three communicative strategies (rational, emotional, creative) realized in a number of speech acts (compliment, advice, congratulation, compliment etc.) differ in linguistic means, levels of representations and concepts implied
