[Article in Spanish] Lopes V, Velho G, Amorim ML, Cardoso ML, Massa A, Amorim JM. SourceServiço de Microbiologia, Hospital Geral Santo António, Largo Prof. Abel Salazar, 4099-001 Porto, Portugal. Abstract We evaluated the incidence of dermatophytes isolated at our hospital in the years of 1997 to 2000 and correlated it with anatomical site and age. Trichophyton rubrum was the predominant species in all anatomical sites, excluding scalp, followed by Microsporum canis, the leading agent of tinea capitis. All dermatophytosis, except tinea capitis by M. canis and Trichophyton schoenleinnii appeared mainly in adult patients. Our results revealed no substantial differences to other portuguese studies regarding the major agents. We found a relatively high incidence of T. schoenleinnii as second tinea capitis agent

HERA-B Framework for Online Calibration and Alignment

This paper describes the architecture and implementation of the HERA-B framework for online calibration and alignment. At HERA-B the performance of all trigger levels, including the online reconstruction, strongly depends on using the appropriate calibration and alignment constants, which might change during data taking. A system to monitor, recompute and distribute those constants to online processes has been integrated in the data acquisition and trigger systems.Comment: Submitted to NIM A. 4 figures, 15 page

Regularization of a three-body problem with zero-range potentials

We propose a coordinate-space regularization of the three-body problem with zero-range potentials. We include the effective range and the shape parameter in the boundary condition of the zero-range potential. The proposed extended zero-range model is tested against atomic helium trimers and is shown to provide an adequate quantitative description of these systems

We compute the effective actions for the 0+1 dimensional scalar field interacting with an Abelian gauge background, as well as for its supersymmetric generalization at finite temperature.Comment: 5 pages, Latex fil

Renormalization-Group Theory of 1D quasiperiodic lattice models with commensurate approximants

We develop a renormalization group (RG) description of the localization properties of onedimensional (1D) quasiperiodic lattice models. The RG flow is induced by increasing the unit cell of subsequent commensurate approximants. Phases of quasiperiodic systems are characterized by RG fixed points associated with renormalized single-band models. We identify fixed-points that include many previously reported exactly solvable quasiperiodic models. By classifying relevant and irrelevant perturbations, we show that phase boundaries of more generic models can be determined with exponential accuracy in the approximant's unit cell size, and in some cases analytically. Our findings provide a unified understanding of widely different classes of 1D quasiperiodic systems
