Generation of large flavor mixing from radiative corrections
We provide a model independent criterion which would guarantee a large flavor
mixing of two quasi-degenerate Majorana neutrinos at the low scale,
irrespective of the mixing at the high scale. We also show that such a
situation is realizable for a phenomenologically interesting range of
parameters of the weak scale theory. We further show that for a similar
condition to be implementable for the three generation case, the CP parity of
one of the neutrinos needs to be opposite to that of the others.Comment: 14 pages RevTeX, 2 eps figures. Minor changes made, a few references

A cross sectional observation study on quality of life and cognition in elderly population and their correlation at a tertiary care centre
Background: India, the second most populous country is facing demographic transition. cognitive decline is one of the normative changes of aging; however, this may impact both physical and mental health of an individual. Quality of life is one of the measures of successful aging. This study was conducted to correlate the level of cognition and quality of life in elderly population. Our aim was to assess quality of life in geriatric population using OPQOL-35 and to assess cognitive assessment by MOCA and determine correlation of cognitive level with quality of life (QoL).Methods: A cross-sectional observational study was conducted among 110 elderly adults (above the age of 60 years. Montreal cognitive assessment (MoCA) was administered to assess the cognitive level. QoL was assessed by OPQOL-35.Results: Significant positive correlation was noted between quality of life and level of cognition scoring (with       correlation coefficient 0.234).Conclusions: The study concluded that the level of cognition and quality of life of elderly adults are in positive correlation with each other. community level screening of elderly for cognitive dysfunction can be made even in resource poor settings. Early identification and referral of elderly with cognitive dysfunction will ensure successful aging.
Local Industrialization Based Lucrative Farming Using Machine Learning Technique
In recent times, agriculture have gained lot of attention of researchers. More precisely, crop prediction is trending topic for research as it leads agri-business to success or failure. Crop prediction totally rest on climatic and chemical changes. In the past which crop to promote was elected by rancher. All the decisions related to its cultivation, fertilizing, harvesting and farm maintenance was taken by rancher himself with his experience. But as we can see because of constant fluctuations in atmospheric conditions coming to any conclusion have become very tough. Picking correct crop to grow at right times under right circumstances can help rancher to make more business. To achieve what we cannot do manually we have started building machine learning models for it nowadays. To predict the crop deciding which parameters to consider and whose impact will be more on final decision is also equally important. For this we use feature selection models. This will alter the underdone data into more precise one. Though there have been various techniques to resolve this problem better performance is still desirable. In this research we have provided more precise & optimum solution for crop prediction keeping Satara, Sangli, Kolhapur region of Maharashtra. Along with crop & composts to increase harvest we are offering industrialization around so rancher can trade the yield & earn more profit. The proposed solution is using machine learning algorithms like KNN, Random Forest, Naïve Bayes where Random Forest outperforms others so we are using it to build our final framework to predict crop
How precisely can we reduce the three-flavor neutrino oscillation to the two-flavor one only from (\delta m^2_{12})/(\delta m^2_{13}) <~ 1/15 ?
We derive the reduction formula, which expresses the survival rate for the
three-flavor neutrino oscillation by the two-flavor one, to the next-to-leading
order in case there is one resonance due to the matter effect. We numerically
find that the next-to-leading reduction formula is extremely accurate and the
improvement is relevant for the precision test of solar neutrino oscillation
and the indirect measurment of CP violation in the leptonic sector. We also
derive the reduction formula, which is slightly different from that previously
obtained, in case there are two resonances. We numerically verify that this
reduction formula is quite accurate and is valid for wider parameter region
than the previously obtained ones are.Comment: 28pages, 8figures, revtex4. to appear in PR
Nicotine in the Endoplasmic Reticulum
Nicotine activates plasma membrane (PM) nicotinic
receptors (nAChRs), but also permeates into the endoplasmic
reticulum (ER) and cis-Golgi, and there binds to nascent nAChRs. Other psychiatric and abused drugs may also enter the ER and bind their classical targets. Further progress requires direct proof, quantification, and time resolution of these processes in live cells and in the brain of animals. Therefore, we are developing genetically encoded fluorescent biosensors to study the subcellular pharmacokinetics of neural drugs
Detecting the Neutrino Mass Hierarchy with a Supernova at IceCube
IceCube, a future km^3 antarctic ice Cherenkov neutrino telescope, is highly
sensitive to a galactic supernova (SN) neutrino burst. The Cherenkov light
corresponding to the total energy deposited by the SN neutrinos in the ice can
be measured relative to background fluctuations with a statistical precision
much better than 1%. If the SN is viewed through the Earth, the matter effect
on neutrino oscillations can change the signal by more than 5%, depending on
the flavor-dependent source spectra and the neutrino mixing parameters.
Therefore, IceCube together with another high-statistics experiment like
Hyper-Kamiokande can detect the Earth effect, an observation that would
identify specific neutrino mixing scenarios that are difficult to pin down with
long-baseline experiments. In particular, the normal mass hierarchy can be
clearly detected if the third mixing angle is not too small, sin^2 theta_13 <
10^-3. The small flavor-dependent differences of the SN neutrino fluxes and
spectra that are found in state-of-the-art simulations suffice for this
purpose. Although the absolute calibration uncertainty at IceCube may exceed
5%, the Earth effect would typically vary by a large amount over the duration
of the SN signal, obviating the need for a precise calibration. Therefore,
IceCube with its unique geographic location and expected longevity can play a
decisive role as a "co-detector" to measure SN neutrino oscillations. It is
also a powerful stand-alone SN detector that can verify the delayed-explosion
scenario.Comment: 19 pages, 6 Figs, final version accepted by JCAP, some references

Supernova neutrino oscillations: what do we understand?
We summarize our current understanding of the neutrino flavor conversions
inside a core collapse supernova, clarifying the important role played by the
"collective effects" in determining flavor conversion probabilities. The
potentially observable and spectra may help us identify
the neutrino mixing scenario, distinguish between primary flux models, and
learn more about the supernova explosion.Comment: 6 pages, 1 eps figure, jpconf.cls used. Talk given at TAUP 2009,

Physics potential of future supernova neutrino observations
We point out possible features of neutrino spectra from a future galactic
core collapse supernova that will enhance our understanding of neutrino mixing
as well as supernova astrophysics. We describe the neutrino flavor conversions
inside the star, emphasizing the role of "collective effects" that has been
appreciated and understood only very recently. These collective effects change
the traditional predictions of flavor conversion substantially, and enable the
identification of neutrino mixing scenarios through signatures like Earth
matter effects.Comment: 8 pages, uses jpconf.cls. Talk given at Neutrino 2008, Christchurch,

Neutrino anomalies and large extra dimensions
Theories with large extra dimensions can generate small neutrino masses when
the standard model neutrinos are coupled to singlet fermions propagating in
higher dimensions. The couplings can also generate mass splittings and mixings
among the flavour neutrinos in the brane. We systematically study the minimal
scenario involving only one singlet bulk fermion coupling weakly to the flavour
neutrinos. We explore the neutrino mass structures in the brane that can
potentially account for the atmospheric, solar and LSND anomalies
simultaneously in a natural way. We demonstrate that in the absence of a priori
mixings among the SM neutrinos, it is not possible to reconcile all these
anomalies. The presence of some structure in the mass matrix of the SM
neutrinos can solve this problem. This is exemplified by the Zee model, which
when embedded in extra dimensions in a minimal way can account for all the
neutrino anomalies.Comment: 23 Revtex pages with 2 eps figure
ANALYTICAL METHOD EVELOPMENT AND VALIDATION FOR ANTI ASTHAMATIC DRUG OXYMETAZOLINE HYDROCHLORIDE IN NASAL SPRAY FORMULATIONS BY RP-HPLC
A new, simple, accurate and economic reverse-phase HPLC method has been developed for quantification of Oxymetazoline Hydrochloride in nasal spray formulations. This developed method has been validated according to International Conference on Harmonization (ICH) guideline with respect to system suitability, specificity, precision, linearity, accuracy, and robustness. An isocratic condition of mobile phase Phosphate buffer (pH 3.0): Acetonitrile in a ratio of 60:40, v/v at a flow rate of 1.0 mL/minute over RP C18 (octadecylsilane (ODS), 250 × 4.6 mm, 5 µm, ECLIPSE X DB C-18) column at ambient temperature was maintained. This method is specific and showed excellent linear response with correlation coefficient (R2) values of 0.999, which was within the limit of correlation coefficient (R2 0.995). A simple and accurate reversed-phase HPLC method for the analysis of Oxymetazoline Hydrochloride in nasal spray formulations was developed and validated successfully
