These data include without any doubt priceless knowledge if could correctly discovered and correlated in an efficient manner. Data mining algorithms can be applied to the Internet of Things (IoT) to extract hidden information from the massive amounts of data that are generated by IoT and are thought to have high business value. In this paper, the most important data mining approaches covering classification, clustering, association analysis, time series analysis, and outlier analysis from the knowledge will be covered. Additionally, a survey of recent work in in this direction is included. Another significant challenges in the field are collecting, storing, and managing the large number of devices along with their associated features. In this paper, a deep look on the data mining for the IoT platforms will be given concentrating on real applications found in the literatur

    Antioxidants in Olive Oil

    Olive oil contains polyphenols, vitamin E, and other natural antioxidants that are the oil’s own natural preservatives. Antioxidants dampen the autogeneration of peroxides, delaying the onset of oxidation and rancidity. As a result, antioxidants increase the oil’s shelf life. Among the antioxidants, there are compounds that have been associated with human health benefits. They absorb free radicals and appear to have a positive impact on cardiovascular and cancer ailments, as attributed to the Mediterranean diet. The main objectives of this chapter were to investigate the phytochemical profile such as phenolic compounds and tocopherols, and in vitro, to study the biological potential (antioxidant capacity) of the olive oil. Furthermore, the relationship and correlations between phytochemical and antioxidant capacity have been highlighted. The investigation of these compounds supported by verifiable evidence may explain their role in the quality and authenticity of olive oil as well as their contribution to human health

    Spectral tau-Jacobi algorithm for space fractional advection-dispersion problem

    In this paper, we use the shifted Jacobi polynomials to approximate the solution of the space fractional advection-dispersion. The method is based on the Jacobi operational matrices of fractional derivative and integration. A double shifted Jacobi expansion is used as an approximating polynomial. We apply this method to solve linear and nonlinear term FDEs by using initial and boundary conditions

    Species distribution and antimicrobial susceptibility of gram-negative aerobic bacteria in hospitalized cancer patients

    <p>Abstract</p> <p>Background</p> <p>Nosocomial infections pose significant threats to hospitalized patients, especially the immunocompromised ones, such as cancer patients.</p> <p>Methods</p> <p>This study examined the microbial spectrum of gram-negative bacteria in various infection sites in patients with leukemia and solid tumors. The antimicrobial resistance patterns of the isolated bacteria were studied.</p> <p>Results</p> <p>The most frequently isolated gram-negative bacteria were <it>Klebsiella pneumonia </it>(31.2%) followed by <it>Escherichia coli </it>(22.2%). We report the isolation and identification of a number of less-frequent gram negative bacteria (<it>Chromobacterium violacum</it>, <it>Burkholderia cepacia, Kluyvera ascorbata, Stenotrophomonas maltophilia, Yersinia pseudotuberculosis</it>, and <it>Salmonella arizona</it>). Most of the gram-negative isolates from Respiratory Tract Infections (RTI), Gastro-intestinal Tract Infections (GITI), Urinary Tract Infections (UTI), and Bloodstream Infections (BSI) were obtained from leukemic patients. All gram-negative isolates from Skin Infections (SI) were obtained from solid-tumor patients. In both leukemic and solid-tumor patients, gram-negative bacteria causing UTI were mainly <it>Escherichia coli </it>and <it>Klebsiella pneumoniae</it>, while gram-negative bacteria causing RTI were mainly <it>Klebsiella pneumoniae</it>. <it>Escherichia coli </it>was the main gram-negative pathogen causing BSI in solid-tumor patients and GITI in leukemic patients. Isolates of <it>Escherichia coli, Klebsiella, Enterobacter</it>, <it>Pseudomonas, and Acinetobacter </it>species were resistant to most antibiotics tested. There was significant imipenem -resistance in <it>Acinetobacter </it>(40.9%), <it>Pseudomonas </it>(40%), and <it>Enterobacter </it>(22.2%) species, and noticeable imipinem-resistance in <it>Klebsiell</it>a (13.9%) and <it>Escherichia coli </it>(8%).</p> <p>Conclusion</p> <p>This is the first study to report the evolution of imipenem-resistant gram-negative strains in Egypt. Mortality rates were higher in cancer patients with nosocomial <it>Pseudomonas </it>infections than any other bacterial infections. Policies restricting antibiotic consumption should be implemented to avoid the evolution of newer generations of antibiotic resistant-pathogens.</p

    The Effect Of Sexual Counseling Program On Pain Level And Sexual Function Among Women With Dyspareunia

    Dyspareunia is a sexual dysfunction manifested as pain in reproductive organs before, during or soon after sexual intercourse. In spite of the fact that this disorder may be found in both genders, it is much more frequent in women. For these women, sexual activity results in burning pain that can alter a woman’s sense of sexual competency and identity. Study aim was to determine the effect of sexual counseling program on pain level and sexual function among women with dyspareunia. The study setting was conducted at obstetrical&amp; gynecological clinics in El-mansoura University Hospital after obtaining hospital director approval. A subject was consisted of 392 women: 107 out of them with dyspareunia and 100 women complete counseling program, Tools three tools were used by the researchers to collect pertinent data consisted of Women Structured Interviewing Schedule, Dyspareunia Self Assessment Tool, and Female Sexual Function Index (FSFI). Results revealed that 27.3% of the study sample was complained with dyspareunia their age was ranged between 20-40 years with a mean age of 33.79±5.92 years. Regards FSFI scores a difference existed between pre and post scores in favor of post scores.  t= 18.7 (P&lt;0.001) with highly statistical significant difference regarding Desire t= 4.6, (P&gt;0.001), Arousal t=7.97, (P&gt;0.001), Orgasm t= 3.7 (P 0.002), Satisfaction t=12.9, (P&gt;0.001) and Pain t=26.4, (P&gt;0.001).  Conclusion female dyspareunia is an under recognized and significantly affected women and their sexual function, the present study proved also that sexual counseling program was effective on pain level and sexual function improvement among women with dyspareunia. Recommendations include application of sexual counseling program on wide range of women complaining sexual problems. Also, sexual health or problem inquiry should be ask as an important part of health care services and the health care team should be encouraged to initiate discussions about dyspareunia and in service education program for nurses about how to deal and manage various sexual problems is must.     ELECTROCHEMICAL AND CHEMOMETRIC DETERMINATION OF DORZOLAMIDE AND TIMOLOL IN EYE DROPS USING MODIFIED MULTIWALL CARBON NANOTUBE ELECTRODE

    Objective: This work is focused on the construction of simple and sensitive electrochemical sensor for quantitative determination of dorzolamide (DOR) and timolol maleate (TIM). This method is based on the incorporation of multiwall carbon nanotubes (MWCNT) into the carbon paste electrode which improve the characteristics of the electrode.Methods: The electrochemical response of modified electrode was based on voltammetric oxidation, using cyclic voltammetry (CV) and impedance spectroscopy (EIS). The structural morphology of the surface modified electrode was characterized by scanning electron microscope (SEM). Quantitative analysis for each of the two compounds in a mixture has been examined by using of chemometric tools for resolving overlapping signals. The prediction performance of the chemometric method was analyzed by principal component regression (PCR) and partial least square (PLS).Results: Fractional factorial design was constructed from set of synthetic mixtures of two drugs in concentration ranges of 0.05 to 1.6µg/ml for DOR and 1.5-20 µg/ml for TIM. Under optimum experimental conditions, DOR and TIM gave rectilinear response over the concentration range of 0.072-1.88 µg/ml and 1.16-20.84 µg/ml, respectively. The limit of detection (LOD) was found to be 0.098 and 1.025 µg/ml, for DOR and TIM, respectively. It found that the % of relative prediction error (RPE) was acceptable and satisfactory.Conclusion: In these work, for the first time, a new voltammetric simultaneous method developed for a rapid and efficient determination of DOR and TIM from eye dropper sample at nano modified electrode with satisfactory results. These results indicate that MWCNT holds great promise in practical application

    Phytochemical and Spectral Studies of Synthesis sulfur Nanoparticles using Sophora japonica Pods Extract

    This study aims to investigate the aqueous extract of Sophora japonica pods for the presence of various phytochemicals and to synthesize sulfur nanoparticles. The presence of various phytochemicals viz. polyphenols, alkaloids, terpenoids, flavonoids, and tannins were investigated by standard biochemical methods.  A rapid, green and novel approach for synthesis sulfur nanoparticles (SNPs) from sodium thiosulfate in the presence of Sophora japonica pods aqueous extract in one-pot reaction at ambient temperature. The resulting sulfur nanoparticles were characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The results show that sulfur nanoparticles were successfully synthesized in sphere shape, and with an average particle size 5-100 nm. The effect of plant pods extract concentration on particle size of sulfur nanoparticles shows that can significantly reduce the particle size without changing the shape. The results revealed that the aqueous extract of Sophora japonica pods act as capping, dispersing and stabilizing agent for sulfur nanoparticles. This method is a novel approach for production nanosized sulfur particles, which could be applied to prepare sulfur nanoparticles for application in antimicrobial activity, fertilizers, and plant protection

    Organizational Cynicism and Counterproductive Work Behaviors: An Empirical Study

    The aim of this study was to test the relationship between the organizational cynicism (OC) of the employees and the Counterproductive Work Behaviors (CWB) exhibited by employees at work. This study was conducted on a stratified random sample consisting of (327) employees of Asyut University in the Arab Republic of Egypt. The data collected by the questionnaire prepared based on the organizational cynicism scale of Brandes, et al (1999) and the counterproductive work behaviors (CWB) scale of Fox (2001).The study found that the organizational cynicism (OC) was positively correlated with the Counterproductive Work Behaviors (CWB), where the significant correlation of the Behavioral dimension was followed by Affective dimension. However, the third dimension of organizational cynicism (belief dimension) has no relationship with the counterproductive behaviors at work. Based on these findings, the study reached some concluding remarks concerning organizational cynicism and counterproductive behaviors.
