Listening and speaking are the important skills that have to be mastered by the students. By having these skills, the students can communicate with others easily. There are many strategies that can be used to teach listening and speaking skills. One of the strategies is by using animation videos. Many students of all ages still like watching animation videos for they are interesting. Animation videos can help the students more understand because they present visual context aids that assist the students comprehend and improve their learning skills. Animation videos can be integrated with discussion method. This paper aims at providing required information about the advantages of animation videos and how to use them in the teaching and learning English activity

Improving Listening and Speaking Achievements of the Eighth Grade Students of SMP Negeri 6 Metro by Using Videos Plus Discussion Method

Listening and speaking are the important skills that have to be mastered by the students. By having these skills, the students can communicate with others easily. However, the teaching and learning of listening and speaking skills are still problematical. The objectives of this study were to find out whether or not videos plus discussion method was effective in improving the students\u27 listening and speaking achievements.  This study involved one hundred and ninety six of the eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 6 Metro and forty of them were selected as the sample by using purposive sampling technique. The results of this study showed that the videos plus discussion method was considered as one of the effective ways to improve the students\u27 listening and speaking achievements

The rapid development of technology requires every business person to upgrade his technology to more sophisticated. Many business people have upgraded their systems to be computerized and even online, one of the business people is in the culinary field. The culinary field which is meant for example is the cafe One thing that can support the quality of ordering in a cafe is the ordering process. In the hover cafe the menu ordering system is still conventional, using a menu book. This of course can be a problem because the menu book used can be damaged or lost so that it can slow down the ordering process, not to mention if the customer requests additional orders, the waiter must come to the customer's table to record additional orders again. The method used in this research is the method of data collection, the method of observation, the method of interviewing, and the method of literature study conducted to obtain accurate data. Then the data are analyzed with SWOT to find out the company's weaknesses and strengths. In describing the flow of the system using UML (Unified Modeling Language) and PHP (Hypertext Preprocessor) as a programming language with a MySQL database as a database. Therefore we need a ordering media that utilizes information technology as a medium for selecting food and beverage (E-Menu) which can provide information about order menu details to facilitate customers in making and ordering food or beverage menus

Solving Human Resources Management of Construction Labors Using Mobile Community Network

A construction labor works on a project based on adetermined interval time. If the construction project is donethen the labor has to find another one. Based on theinterviews conducted to some construction labors in BandaAceh and Medan, they depend totally on the networking andfriendship among the labors in finding a project. sOn theother hand, the labors can survive only for seven days if he isnot working. The proposed solution is developing a jobsearch system for the construction labors using mobileapplication. This system is built using JavaME, RecordManagement Store (RMS) as the storage media, and ShortMessage Service (SMS) as the data connection. This systemapplies distributed system thus it will not cause the processbecomes slow because the limited memory of the cellularphone. This system provides the construction laborsspecification which is needed by the employer and the list ofconstruction labor specification. Job searching will beprocessed again once the labors done with a project. In thisway, the construction labors will continually contracted witha project. Using this system will solve the problem faced bythe construction labor in finding a project and finally achievetheir economis growth

Analisis USAhatani Jamur Tiram Putih (Pleurotusostreatus) Di Kelurahan Simpang Baru Kecamatan Tampan Kota Pekanbaru

This study aims to (1) analyze costs and farm income oyster mushroom in the village of Simpang Baru subdistrict Tampan Pekanbaru, (2) analyzing the viability of farming oyster mushroom in the village of Simpang New District of Pekanbaru, (3) Analyze Break Even Point (BEP ) white oyster mushroom business in the village new intersections Handsome District of the city of Pekanbaru. The sampling technique using census method. The results showed that during the production process (4 months) from 5000 baglog oyster mushrooms can produce immediate of 1200 kg, with a selling price at farmer level Rp. 30,000 / Kg. Total gross revenue for Rp.36.000.000, total production cost of Rp. 17,604,912. and net income of Rp. 18,395,088. BEP value sales of Rp. 5,668,708 and BEP unit amounted to 189.88 Kg. BCR value of 0.24 so that it can be concluded that the oyster mushroom farm in the village of Simpang Baru Subdistrict Tampan Pekanbaru City deserves to be continue

Grazing impact on soil chemical and biological properties under different plant cover types in a mountain area of Southern Italy.

Grazing can contribute to soil degradation by compaction due to roaming of livestock and loss of herbaceous cover, affecting also soil microbial community. Aim of this study was to assess grazing impact on soil microbial community and nutrient status under different plant cover types (i.e., fernery, chestnut wood, garigue). Grazed and ungrazed soils were analysed for water holding capacity, pH, organic carbon, N, S, K, Mg, Fe, Mn, Zn and Cu content, microbial biomass, fungal mycelium and potential respiration. Moreover, some ecophysiological indices, as microbial quotient, coefficient of endogenous mineralization (CEM), metabolic quotient (qCO2) and fungal fraction of microbial carbon were calculated. The results of present study showed that a moderate intensity grazing had low or no impact on chemical characteristics of soils and affects microbial community mainly in grazed areas with lower vegetation cover and lower content of nutrient and organic carbon, compared to areas with a thick layer of vegetation

Dengan memperkenalkan berbagai lagu dan tarian daerah; bisa membangkitkan rasa nasionalisme dan rasa ke Bhineka-an. Perkembangan smartphone saat ini sangat pesat dan cepat; tidak hanya digunakan oleh pengguna sebagai media komunikasi; tetapi juga sebagai media informasi. Oleh karena itu; penulis berusaha membuat solusi pembelajaran lagu dan tarian tradisional yang praktis menggunakan smartphone android sebagai media informasinya. Keragaman tarian dan lagu daerah dari 31 propinsi bisa kita dapatkan didalam aplikasi ini. Aplikasi ini dapat berjalan dengan baik pada perangkat berbasis android dengan versi 4.0 keatas
