Charged-Current Neutral Pion production at SciBooNE
SciBooNE, located in the Booster Neutrino Beam at Fermilab, collected data
from June 2007 to August 2008 to accurately measure muon neutrino and
anti-neutrino cross sections on carbon below 1 GeV neutrino energy. SciBooNE is
studying charged current interactions. Among them, neutral pion production
interactions will be the focus of this poster. The experimental signature of
neutrino-induced neutral pion production is constituted by two electromagnetic
cascades initiated by the conversion of the neutral pion decay photons, with an
additional muon in the final state for CC processes.
In this poster, I will present how we reconstruct and select charged-current
muon neutrino interactions producing neutral pions in SciBooNE.Comment: NuInt09 poster proceedings, 4 page
Neutrino interactions with nuclei
We present a model for neutrino-nucleus scattering in the energy region
relevant for present and forthcoming neutrino-oscillation experiments. The
model is based on the RPA treatment of the nuclear responses in the
quasi-elastic and Delta-resonance region. It includes also in a
phenomenological way nucleon knock-out. It aims at the description, within a
single framework, of several final state channels i.e. quasi-elastic,
incoherent and coherent one-pion production and two- or several-nucleon
knock-out.Comment: To appear in the proceedings of 6th International Workshop on

Vertical integration and exclusivities in maritime freight transport
A key recent theme in maritime freight transport is the involvement of shipping lines in terminal management. Such investments are costly but allow liners to provide better service. Most of these new terminals are dedicated terminals but some are non-exclusive and let rivals access them for a fee. In this paper, we show that a shipping line that builds its own terminal finds it strategically profitable i) to continue routing part of its cargo through the open port facilities, and ii) to keep its terminal non-exclusive. In this way, the liner investor pushes part of the rival's freight from the open to the new terminal. Besides, under non-exclusivities, the shipping lines offer a wider variety of services, total freight increases and the resulting equilibrium fares are higher than with a dedicated terminal.freight transport, shipping lines, vertical integration
Nuclear effects in electron reactions and their impact on neutrino processes
We suggest that superscaling in electroweak interactions with nuclei, namely
the observation that the reduced electron-nucleus cross sections are to a large
degree independent of the momentum transfer and of the nuclear species, can be
used as a tool to obtain precise predictions for neutrino-nucleus cross
sections in both charged and neutral current-induced processes.Comment: 11 pages, 7 figures, proceedings of NUINT09, 6th International

Neutrino Interactions Importance for Nuclear Physics
We review the general interplay between Nuclear Physics and neutrino-nucleus
cross sections at intermediate and high energies. The effects of different
reaction mechanisms over the neutrino observables are illustrated with examples
in calculations using several nuclear models and ingredients.Comment: To appear in the proceedings of 6th International Workshop on
