Procedimiento de análisis de calidad en los títulos oficiales de la Facultad de Comunicación de la Universidad de Sevilla : primeros pasos

La Universidad de Sevilla ha puesto en marcha la aplicación Logros a fin de respaldar y dar apoyo al proceso de seguimiento de sus títulos oficiales. Este trabajo tiene como objetivo presentar la experiencia de gestión de esta plataforma que se ha llevado a cabo en la Facultad de Comunicación de la Universidad de Sevilla para los tres títulos de Grado y cuatro Másteres oficiales que funcionan en el centro. Como método de trabajo se ha procedido a la descripción del proceso de análisis de calidad por medio de la cumplimentación de tres documentos de trabajo por cada título: informe anual, plan de mejora y repertorio de buenas prácticas. Los resultados incluyen la descripción de los once procedimientos de Logros. El estudio de los mismos demuestra la capacidad de adaptación de la comunidad universitaria a los cambios que se están produciendo en el seno de las Universidades así como la eficacia de la acción coordinada y el interés por proponer mejoras. Pero también pone de relieve el incremento de trabajo burocrático y administrativo, así como la concentración de esfuerzos en análisis que aún deben demostrar su repercusión efectiva en el incremento de la calidad.The University of Sevilla has put into operation an application named Logros with the aim of supporting the process of monitoring the official titles offered by said university. The main goal of this work is to present the experience in managing said platform, which has been applied to the three degree titles and the four official masters taught in the College of Communication Studies at the University of Seville. The methodology used is basically based on the description of the quality analysis process through three work documents: annual report, implementation plan and good practices repertoire. The results also include the description of the eleven procedures used by Logros. According to those results, the capacity of adaptation experienced by the university community as well as the efficiency of the coordination plan and a good attitude concerning the changes taking place within the university system is patent. However, said results also remark the increase of bureaucracy and administrative work, as well as the concentration of efforts in analysis, which has still to be tested concerning their effective repercussion in the quality increase

Childhood image: iconographyc aspects

Este trabajo analiza la evolución de la imagen de la infancia a lo largo de la historia, desde de la más lejana antigüedad, donde la representación realista de rasgos específicos de la infancia es prácticamente inexistente o carecía de interés en las más variadas culturas. Con el paso del tiempo, la imagen de niños y niñas, con sus características específicas dependiendo del momento histórico, comienza a ser un motivo importante de toda una iconografía religiosa y laica que les convierte en protagonistas.This paper analyses the evolution of childhood image throughout History from the most ancient times, when realistic representation of specific infant features is practically non existent in –or irrelevant to- many cultures. Information and counter-information: the evolution of the printing pressduring the Lutheran Reformation and the Counter-Reformation

El desarrollo del arte de imprimir constituye una de las grandes revoluciones de la humanidad, que convirtió el conocimiento acopiado de forma escrita en información accesible a las grandes mayorías. Muchos de estos cambios se encuentran en gran medida asociados a la historia de la imprenta, precisamente surgida en un continente en el cual la preocupación por la difusión de falsas doctrinas era uno de los motores de la dinámica social. Este artículo profundiza en el período de la Reforma y de la Contrarreforma desde el punto de vista del papel determinante que desempeñaron las prensas de impresión.The development of the art of printing is one of humanity’s great revolutions, which made all the knowledge accumulated in writing available to the great masses. Many of these changes are, to a great extent, related to the history of the printing press, which originated precisely in a continent where concern about the spreading of false doctrines was one of the drives behind social dynamics. Images of the end of the world: The Apocalypse in the Xylographies by the german Artist Alberto Durero

Este trabajo profundiza en un momento importante en la historia de la comunicación como lo fue el de la difusión de la imprenta y el desarrollo de las técnicas del grabado aplicadas a la impresión. Se estudian las imágenes del libro bíblico del Apocalipsis, ilustrado por el artista alemán Alberto Durero a finales del siglo XV. Para ello se ha ahondando en el contexto histórico en el que fueron producidas, en la personalidad y circunstancias que rodearon la vida del artista y en las propias imágenes xilográficas rastreando sus antecedentes y características propias.This work focuses on an important moment in the history of communication such as the diffusion of the printing press and the development of the engraving techniques applied to printing. It studies in depth the images of the biblical book of the Apocalypse illustrated by the German artist Alberto Durero by the end of the fifteenth century. This article analyzes the historical context where they were produced, the personality of the artist and the circumstances surrounding his life, and the very own xylographic images, whose antecedents and characteristics are traced

Disturbing gazes: The works of photographer Julia Margaret Cameron in the framework of Communication History and Gender Studie

El presente artículo tiene un doble objetivo. Por una parte se inscribe en la línea de los estudios de género que pretenden reivindicar las figuras de mujeres cuyas aportaciones en distintos terrenos del conocimiento han sido olvidadas o minimizadas tras la idea predominante de la genialidad como atributo masculino. En segundo lugar, busca profundizar en la Historia de la Comunicación rescatando las aportaciones de la fotógrafa inglesa Julia Margaret Cameron (1815-1879). Para ello se ha recurrido al análisis de fuentes directas como las fotografías hechas por la autora, así como al análisis de su autobiografía The annals of my glass house y a la revisión de investigaciones acerca de su trabajo. Las conclusiones demuestran que a pesar de la infravaloración profesional de la que fue objeto, Cameron llevó a cabo un trabajo fotográfico creativo y de sensibilidad artística, adelantándose en ocasiones a su tiempo.This article has a double objective. On the one hand, it is contextualized under the gender studies that attempt to reclaim female figures whose contributions to different fields of knowledge have been forgotten or minimized because of the predominant idea of geniality as a male feature. On the other hand, it aims to deepen on the History of Communication in order to rescue the contributions of British photographer Julia Margaret Cameron (18151879). The methodology is based on the analysis of direct sources such as the photographs taken by this author, the analysis of her autobiography The annals of my glass house, and the review of previous research on her work. Conclusions show that, despite the professional underestimation that she suffered, Cameron accomplished a very creative and artistic photographic work which, in some cases, was ahead of her time

Learning to look : photographic image and audiovisual literacy

Este artículo centra su atención en la potencialidad de la fotografía como recurso educativo a través del desarrollo de una experiencia en el ámbito de la alfabetización audiovisual. Se trata de los Talleres de Fotografía para Niños y Niñas, impartidos en el Colegio de Educación Infantil y Primaria José María del Campo (Sevilla) y en la Facultad de Comunicación de la Universidad de Sevilla, que tenían como objetivo desarrollar la capacidad de comprender, crear y producir imágenes fotográficas reconociendo en ellas un medio privilegiado de expresión artística, comunicación e información. Las sesiones de trabajo pusieron de manifiesto como niños y niñas aprenden con rapidez a manejar el lenguaje audiovisual y son capaces de interiorizar conceptos como los de planos, angulación, composición y secuencia de imágenes. El proyecto también ha evidenciado la autonomía de los pequeños al utilizar una cámara fotográfica y el uso de criterios como el de encuadre, perspectiva, selección de elementos e iluminación, así como la potencialidad de la fotografía como instrumento de aproximación a otras culturas y como herramienta de interés en el aprendizaje de idiomas.This article is focused on the potential of photography as an educational resource through the development of an experience in the field of audiovisual literacy. This consists of Photography Workshops for Children, taught at the School of Childhood Education and Elementary José María del Campo and the Faculty of Communication at the University of Seville, which aimed to develop the ability to understand, create and produce photographic images recognizing in them a privileged means of artistic expression, communication and information. The working sessions revealed how fast children learn to handle the visual language and are able to internalize concepts such as shots, angulation, composition and sequence of images. The project has also demonstrated the kids autonomy when using a camera, the use of criteria like framing, perspective, items selection and lighting, as well as the potential of the photography as a way to approach other cultures and as useful tools for language learning
