    Computation of the structure of magnetized strange quark star

    In this work, we have calculated some properties of the spin polarized strange quark matter (SQM) in a strong magnetic field at zero temperature using the MIT bag model. We have shown that the equation of state of spin polarized SQM is stiffer than that of the unpolarized case. We have also computed the structure properties of the spin polarized strange quark star (SQS) and have found that the presence of magnetic field leads to a more stable SQS compared to the unpolarized SQS.Comment: 23 pages, 13 figures, 2 tables Res.     Staff Awareness, Attitudes, and Skills toward Radio Frequency Identification Adoption in Medical Laboratories

    Background and purpose: Radio Frequency Identification technology (RFID) is a beneficial tool in providing diagnostic and treatment services in the healthcare domain.This study aims to investigate  awareness, attitudes, and  skills of medical private and public laboratory the staff in implementing RFID. Materials and Methods: The present study was a cross-sectional study conducted based on the descriptive-applied approach in private and public medical laboratories in Shiraz in 2017. The population size of this study included all laboratories’ staff that involved technicians, technologists, and technical supervisors. 147 staffs were then assigned through census. Data was collected using a researcher-made checklist, and its validity and reliability were assessed and approved. The collected data was then analysed in a significance level of 0.05 using descriptive statistics and t-test, ANOVA ,and Pearson correlation test in SPSS23. Results: Findings showed that the mean awareness, attitude and skill scores of participants were 3.13±0.91, 4.09 ± 0.38 and 2.39±0.65, respectively. In this regard, the staff  awareness and attitude scores labelled good, and their skill score labelled medium. Also, almost all participants had a positive attitude toward executing RFID, and there was documented a significant direct association between the staff knowledge, attitudes, and skills dimensions.  Conclusion: Considering the inchoate RFID technology and its limited usage, the staff RFID skills needed improvement. Therefore, the results suggested that the necessary training followed by implementing RFID technology should have received a high-level priority on policymakers’ agenda. &nbsp

    Citation and Content Analysis of Journal of Health Management and Informatics in 2014-2016

    Background: The aim of citation and content analysis is to improve the quality of scientific productions, identify the authors’ trends, etc., and finally provide solutions to improve the present status. Therefore, the aim of this study was to determine the citation and content status of Journal of Health Management and Informatics in 2014 -2016. Methods: This is a descriptive cross-sectional study performed in 2016. The study population was all published articles in 2014-2016. Data gathering was done through a self-made checklist including content (corresponding authors affiliations, type of articles, study method, financial support, topics, collaboration rate, etc.) and citation analysis (number of references), language of references, type of references and half life time of references). Data were abstracted and reported based on the research objectives using Excel software v 2007 and descriptive statistics. Results: The results showed that from all 67 papers surveyed, 82.08% of the published articles were original ones, and 98.5% were done through team works. 82.10% of the references were in the English language and 79.17% of them were journal articles. The half-life of the references used by authors was 9.70 years. Conclusion: It is suggested that journal authorities should supervise the resources used by the authors; they should also provide context for encouraging the authors to publish articles resulting from research projects and theses

    The Effect of the COVID-19 Pandemic on the Factors Influencing Iranian Medical Residents' Specialty Selection: A Qualitative Study

    Background: Medical students' specialty selection influences the composition of the physician workforce and the effectiveness of health systems. Therefore, the identification of factors that influence the choice of specialty is critical for an evidence-based health policy. This study aimed to investigate the effect of the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic on the determinants of specialty choice among Iranian medical residents. Methods: In early 2022, this qualitative study was conducted among Iranian medical residents in seven provinces, including Tehran, Isfahan, Fars, Khorasan Razavi, Kerman, Kermanshah, and Khuzestan. The participants were selected using a purposeful sampling method. Data were collected using 74 semi-structured in-depth face-to-face interviews. Finally, a thematic content analysis (conventional content analysis) method was applied for data synthesis. Results: The participant's mean age was 28.7±2.5 years, and more than 52% (N=39) were men. Following data synthesis, 10 sub-themes and four main themes were identified, including educational aspects affected by the pandemic, career-related hazards, personal and professional lifestyles affected by the disease, and experiences and beliefs regarding the pandemic. Conclusion: The COVID-19 pandemic has had a significant impact on medical students' educational, professional, and personal aspects of specialty choices. This study demonstrated how the disease affected the choice of specialty. Therefore, the findings could be used for developing national health policy and planning
