Contracts in Procurement Management: An Investıgatıon on the Baby Maternity Industry

Realization of procurement activities in a rational and highly efficient way is extremely important for enterprises. The enterprises that are able to realize an advantageous procurement transaction compared to other enterprises in the purchasing process will gain an opportunity to get ahead in hard competition conditions. Thus, it will be possible for these enterprises to grow and increase their market share. In addition, the required products to be at the right time and in the right place is very important for the continuation of the operations of the enterprise.Enterprises sign a contract to make a solid agreement with the individuals and organizations they are dealing with, to reduce uncertainties for the future and to perform a rational procurement transaction. Contracts are a legal practice which brings rights and obligations for both parties from the moment they are signed validly. For this reason, contracts in commercial life have found a significant application areas. In this study, the importance of procurement function and its importance for the enterprises is examined first and then the subjects that enterprises should consider in terms of contract management are mentioned. In the last chapter, three contracts were included in the study in order to understand the practice of the subject. Thus, a better understanding of the importance of contract management for enterprises has been achieved

A SWOT-AHP Approach for Assessment of Medical Tourism Sector in Turkey

Each year, the citizens of many countries in the world visit different countries for the treatment of health problems. Turkey that offers quality, technology-driven and reasonably priced treatment service within the scope of Medical Tourism can complete this integrated process with its tourism riches. The advantages and disadvantages of Turkey in medical tourism have been examined within the scope of alternatives by taking opportunities that may arise in the future into account. The strengths and weaknesses of the sector in Turkey and opportunities and threats have been systematically analyzed with the SWOT analysis built on the numerical basis. The SWOT analysis is a systematic tool used for the determination of opportunities and threats along with the expression of strengths and weaknesses of an enterprise or a sector. Due to the fact that the significance levels of the factor elements in the classic SWOT matrix are uncertain, it was used in this study together with the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP). Due to the eigenvector calculation performed by building the paired comparison matrices with AHP, it has become possible to weight SWOT factors and elements. It is necessary to create an environment that will make people feel like they are at home rather than at the hospital in order to break this feeling. Toplam Verimli Bakım ve Ekipman Etkinliği: Bir İmalat İşletmesinde Uygulama

Bu çalışmada, öncelikle bakım kavramı açıklanmış ve ekipman etkinliğiyle ilgili literatür taraması sunulmuştur. İşletme varlıklarının etkinliğinin ölçülmesinde kullanılan, Toplam Ekipman Etkinliği (TEE) kavramı ve bu kapsamda gerçekleştirilen makine ve ekipman uygunluğu, performans etkinliği, kaliteli ürün oranı hesaplamalarına ilişkin denklemler ifade edilmiştir. Son kısımda ise, aspiratör imalatı yapan bir firmada gerçekleştirilen TEE analizi çalışması sunulmuştur. ERP SOFTWARE SELECTION USING A COMBINED ANP AND VIKOR APPROACH

Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software coordinates the information flow between the different departments of a company, enabling the efficient use of resources such as labor, machinery, supplies, and raw materials that used in the production of the goods and / or services. ERP software brings together business processes of organizations in a common platform. It is very costly and it needs certain periods of installation time and work in the desired fields that all depends on the scale and the activity sector of the companies. This selection of software for business is one of the important decisions. This study aims to select the most convenient ERP software considering more than one qualitative and quantitative criteria. The methodology is based on the VIKOR method under criteria’ weights given by ANP model. The analytic network process (ANP) is an effective decision making technique that takes into account both tangible and intangible criteria with interdependencies, outerdependencies and feedbacks among them. VIKOR is a multi-criteria decision making and ranking method that uses the compromise ranking principle to evaluate the alternatives. DEPOLAMA FAALİYETLERİ İÇİN LOJİSTİK SERVİS SAĞLAYICI SEÇİMİNDE ÖNEMLİ DEĞERLENDİRME KRİTERLERİNİN BELİRLENMESİ

Outsourcing is an approved competitive strategy for companies that need to reduce operating costs, improve efficiency and focus on core activities. Selecting the right outsourcing providers is one of the most important decisions for the enterprises or managers. The main purpose of this study is to propose a multi-criteria decision making (MCDM) approach to evaluate assessment criteria for selection of third party logistics service provider for warehousing. The analytic network process (ANP) approach is applied to analyze the structure of decisionmaking problem and evaluation criteria. Furthermore, a real case study in food retailing sector is presented to illustrate the application of the proposed approach. The results show that the “operational qualification” criteria is the most important evaluation criteria for selection of warehouse logistics service providerDış kaynak kullanımı; operasyonel maliyetlerini azaltmak, verimliliklerini arttırmak ve ana faaliyetlerine odaklanmak isteyen işletmeler için, geçerliliği kanıtlanmış bir rekabet stratejisidir. Teknolojinin gelişimi ve yaşam koşulların değişimi, müşteri taleplerini çeşitlendirmektedir. Birçok farklı seçeneğin, makul fiyat ve istenen zamanda karşılanmasını arzu eden müşterilere hizmet verilen küresel bir rekabet ortamı mevcuttur. Bu rekabet ortamında, yüksek kaliteli ve uygun fiyatlı ürünlerle müşteri talebine istenen sürede cevap verilebilmesi gerekmektedir. Belirtilen hususlar ışığında, işletmelerin süreçlerini sürekli olarak gözden geçirmeleri ve iyileştirme gereklilikleri karşımıza çıkmaktadır. Yapılan bu çalışmada ilk olarak, süreç kavramı ve süreç iyileştirme hakkında genel bilgiler verilmiştir. Uygulama kısmında ise ana hedef sektörü otomotiv yan sanayi olan ve tam zamanında üretim felsefesi ile çalışan müşterilere ürün tedarik eden, vasıflı çelik üretimi yapan bir firmada gerçekleştirilen süreç iyileştirme çalışmaları sunulmuştur. Çalışmada farklı süreç iyileştirme teknikleri (Kaizen, Neden-Sonuç Diyagramı, Poka-Yoke, 8D, Hata Türü ve Etkileri Analizi) bir arada kullanılmıştır
