Collaboration, wealth and value creation, SMEsโ halal products communities, and information systems
This paper takes the form of a general review. It introduces the notion of government-industry collaboration and information sharing in the Halal industry that work together for achieving common goals such as in economic, health, environmental, and social well-being โ moving towards making living more meaningful, productive, fruitful and profound. Technological empowerment โ in particular inter-organizational information systems (IS) and information sharing โ is regarded as the key driver for supporting a sustainable economic development at the global, regional and local levels. Through IS, it is viable and essential to establish a global knowledge base, shared, used, enhanced and contributed to by a variety of experts and professionals throughout the world in different fields toward achieving common goals.
The paper raises awareness of relevant government-industry collaboration initiatives, leveraging on the strategic use of IS to promote individual and community growth as well as to facilitate sustainable development. As there are five main components of an IS โ hardware, software, data, procedures/processes, and people โ this also mean that many different skills and effective change management programs are required to ensure usersโ acceptance, leadership commitment and business processes between organizations are
improved in ensuring ISs are effective in delivering the business goals of participating partners and collaborators
Exploring the user engagement factors in computer mediated communication
User engagement can be defined as the perception of the user to qualify the experience
towards certain application, which focus on the positive aspects of the interaction through
Internet in the context of the desire to use it continuously and for longer time. It is fundamental
concept in the design of online applications regardless of the platform, driven by the observation
that successful applications are not only used but those that work. However, user engagement in
the technology advancement is a paradox phenomenon, as they recognize the potentiality but
reluctant to adopt or they realize its use to solve problem but prefer the other solution for longer
of time. The usual ways to evaluate them can be through self-report measures, observational
methods, speech analysis or web analytics. These methods represent different compensations in
term of configuration, the size of object and the scale of data to be collected. For example, some
study might find detail and deep analysis but they are limited in term of generalizability, while
the other might found out resourceful but denies the user reasoning and the context. During this
millennial, the diffusion of innovation became the acceptable theory that majority academician
and practical expert use to explain the phenomenon of the reason and factor to adopt certain
product. Therefore, due to the assumption of several factors such as technology advancement
and paradigm shift, this study want to explore current situation in the user engagement factors,
which focused to computer mediated communication
Telecenter Sustainability: An Embedded, Multiple-Case Study on Telecenters in Indonesia
This study attempts to explore the degree of financial and social sustainability of telecenters in East Java, Indonesia, and their influencing factors. An embedded, multiple-case study approach will be applied with telecenter as the main unit of analysis and community as the embedded unit of analysis. Selection of cases will be based on a comprehensive telecenter survey and confirmation from experts in the field. Mixed methods data collection and analysis techniques will be utilized with qualitative method being the primary technique. Within-case and cross-case analyses of two sets of cases of sustainable and barely-sustaining telecenters will be conducted to derive results and confirm commonalities. Q-methodology will be applied to examine communityโs subjective perception towards telecenter social sustainability. An integrated framework of the Five Pillars of Sustainable Telecenters and the Change Agent element from the Diffusion of Innovation theory will be used as the conceptual basis of investigation. The outcomes of this research are expected to bring important theoretical and methodological contributions to academics as well as recommendations to policy makers and telecenter activists

This paper aim to describe the development of ICT
in Indonesia by investigating the relationship between ICT
development index (IDI) with the human development index
(HDI), education index, expenditure index and the percentage
of poor people between the six major islands of Indonesia. The Pearson Correlation analysis was used to explore the data collected for the period of 2012-2016. Among the interesting findings emerged from this study is the disparity of ICT development between the major islands in the western and eastern part of Indonesia. This paper also reveals that there are significant correlations between the IDI, HDI, education index, expenditure index and the percentage of poor people
E-commerce adoption by Indonesian small agribusiness: Reconsidering the innovation-decision process model
Granted that studies on e-commerce adoption by
small business in developing countries has received a
significant attention in the past decade, most of the studies
recorded in the literature were mainly focused on
manufacturing, distribution and service sector. Limited
attention had been given to agribusiness sector despite its
significance to the economy. Many studies have adopted
Rogers innovation-decision process model to analyse the
adoption process. However, only a portion of the model were
used in those studies. This paper discusses and proposes
Rogers model incorporating all elements of the innovation decision
process model including the stages of innovation decision
and its influencing factors such as prior conditions,
communication channels, characteristics of the adopter, and
the perceived characteristics of e-commerce; to gain a better
understanding on e-commerce adoption process. This paper
spotlights Indonesian small agribusiness whereby e-commerce
adoption studies still scarce
Halal product price indicator portal: promoting Malaysiaโs local Halal SMEs
Local halal small and medium enterprises (SMEs) play an important role in Malaysiaโs future economy. Currently the popularity of their products is still low compare to those of the large and multinational companies. A Halal Product Price Indicator Portal is proposed to help promote and improve the condition of the SMEs. The portal involves Malaysia Department of Islamic Development (JAKIM) and local Halal SMEs in Malaysia. The main feature of the portal is Halal products price information and comparison functionality. It is believed that the establishment of the portal will encourage people to view it, and in time, will help promote local Halal SMEs and made their products more accessible to customers and eventually contribute to national development
