    The Trusted UHF Receiver for Radio Frequency Identification of Critical Infrastructure Objects

    Results of designing the low-noise amplifier, quadrature demodulator, and baseband amplifier with an integrated low-pass filter for the UHF radio frequency identification receiver are presented. IP-blocks are designed for implementation in the domestic CMOS 180 nm technology process. The low-noise amplifier is implemented with integrated single pole double throw switches based on the MOSFETs which are needed for bypass mode realization at the RF input. The benefits of this approach are increased input linearity of the receiver by no less than 30 dB with an increase of a noise figure. The quadrature demodulator is realized according to a typical design based on the passive MOSFET mixer core. The programmable-gain baseband amplifier is implemented with an integrated low-pass filter based on Tow-Thomas biquad architecture. IP-blocks designed for use in an RFID reader transceiver VLSI IC with sensitivity value no more than -75 dBm and input linearity value not less than 10 dBm in a «Talk» mode. The trustiness of the receiver is provided by the full-cycle design procedure and verification under experimental investigation. The electric parameters values of the proposed receiver correspond to foreign VLSIs implemented in a CMOS process with the same technology nodes. Thus, it is important to design the domestic ISO 18000-6C reader equipment intended for critical infrastructure

    The Specialized RF Elements Library for Trusted Transceiver VLSI Design

    Results of designing the specialized RF elements library intended for use in the CMOS 180 nm process are presented. The RF library includes a set of RF MOSFETs for amplifiers and switches design,  three types of varactors based on the MOS-structure, spiral inductors, MIM-capacitors and other elements. The RF library is intended for use in combination with CAD Cadence Virtuoso IC and is focused on designing a set of amplifiers, frequency oscillators and convertors, controlled attenuators and phase shifters microwave IP-blocks of the transceiver VLSI. A test chip is developed with using the presented RF library, focused on conducting research by probe methods and containing 13 types of basic elements and specialized structures for the RF characterization of the domestic CMOS 180 nm process

    Indocyanine Green-Containing Magnetic Liposomes for Constant Magnetic Field-Guided Targeted Delivery and Theranostics

    The aim of the present study was to develop magnetic liposomes (MLPSs) incorporating an agent with the ability to act both as a photosensitizer and as a fluorophore for optical imaging. We therefore aimed to develop a preparation method for indocyanine green (ICG)-containing MLPS, followed by a detailed characterization of their physicochemical and magnetic properties. The ability of intravenously administered ICG-containing MLPSs to accumulate in tissue exposed to a constant magnetic field was tested in vivo. Using the thin film hydration method, 170-nm aqueous liposomes containing magnetic nanoparticles and indocyanine green were synthesized, followed by a detailed characterization of their physicochemical properties. It was shown that ICG-containing MLPSs possess the properties of T2 contrast for MRI. Apart from this, ICG-containing MLPSs were clearly visualized using near infrared fluorescent imaging, which was demonstrated in in vivo experiments showing an accumulation of ICG-containing MLPSs in the zone of magnetic field distribution produced by a previously implanted constant magnet in the tissue. Although not directly tested in the present study, therapeutic applications of ICG-containing MLPSs include magnetic hyperthermia, as well as the photodynamic, photothermal, and photoacoustic effects of ICG. Taking into account the fact that liposomes, iron oxide nanoparticles, and ICG are all FDA-approved agents, it is highly likely that ICG-containing MLPSs could be successfully translated to clinical practice

    Some Aspects of Development and Histological Structure of the Visual System of Nothobranchius Guentheri

    In this, work some aspects of the development of the visual system of Nothobranchius guentheri at the main stages of ontogenesis were described for the first time. It was possible to establish that the formation of the visual system occurs similarly to other representatives of the order Cyprinodontiformes, but significantly differs in terms of the individual stages of embryogenesis due to the presence of diapause. In the postembryonic period, there is a further increase in the size of the fish’s eyes and head, to the proportions characteristic of adult fish. The histological structure of the eye in adult N. guentheri practically does not differ from most teleost fish living in the same environmental conditions. The study of the structure of the retina showed the heterogeneity of the thickness of the temporal and nasal areas, which indicates the predominant role of peripheral vision. Morphoanatomical measurements of the body and eyes of N. guentheri showed that their correlation was conservative. This indicates an important role of the visual system for the survival of fish in natural conditions, both for the young and adults. In individuals of the older age group, a decrease in the amount of sodium (Na) and an increase in magnesium (Mg) and calcium (Ca) were found in the eye lens. Such changes in the elemental composition of the lens can be a sign of the initial stage of cataractogenesis and disturbances in the metabolism of lens fibers as a result of aging. This allows us to propose N. guentheri as a model for studying the structure, formation, and aging of the visual and nervous systems

    Olefin-Metathesis-Derived Norbornene–Ethylene–Vinyl Acetate/Vinyl Alcohol Multiblock Copolymers: Impact of the Copolymer Structure on the Gas Permeation Properties

    Commercial metathesis polynorbornene is used for the fabrication of high-damping coatings and bulk materials that dissipate vibration and impact energies. Functionalization of this non-polar polymer can improve its adhesive, gas barrier, and other properties, thereby potentially expanding its application area. With this aim, the post-modification of polynorbornene was carried out by inserting ethylene–vinyl acetate–vinyl alcohol blocks into its backbone via the cross-metathesis of polynorbornene with poly(5-acetoxy-1-octenylene) and subsequent deacetylation and hydrogenation of the obtained multiblock copolymers. For the first time, epoxy groups were introduced into the main chains of these copolymers, followed by the oxirane ring opening reaction. The influence of post-modification on the thermal, gas separation, and mechanical properties of the new copolymers was studied. It was shown that the gas permeability of the copolymer significantly depends on its composition, as well as on the amounts of hydroxyl and epoxy groups. The developed methods efficiently improve the barrier properties, reducing the oxygen permeability by 15–33 times in comparison with polynorbornene. The obtained results are promising for various applications and can be extended to a broader family of polydienes and other polymers containing backbone double bonds

    The Effect of Meclofenoxate on the Transcriptome of Aging Brain of Nothobranchius guentheri Annual Killifish

    Annual fish of the genus Nothobranchius are promising models for aging research. Nothobranchius reproduces typical aspects of vertebrate aging, including hallmarks of brain aging. Meclofenoxate (MF) is a well-known compound that can enhance cognitive performance. The drug is prescribed for asthenic conditions, trauma, and vascular diseases of the brain. It is believed that MF is able to delay age-dependent changes in the human brain. However, until now, there has been no study of the MF effect on the brain transcriptome. In the present work, we performed an RNA-Seq study of brain tissues from aged Nothobranchius guentheri, which were almost lifetime administered with MF, as well as young and aged control fish. As expected, in response to MF, we revealed significant overexpression of neuron-specific genes including genes involved in synaptic activity and plasticity, neurotransmitter secretion, and neuron projection. The effect was more pronounced in female fish. In this aspect, MF alleviated age-dependent decreased expression of genes involved in neuronal activity. In both treated and untreated animals, we observed strong aging-associated overexpression of immune and inflammatory response genes. MF treatment did not prevent this effect, and moreover, some of these genes tended to be slightly upregulated under MF treatment. Additionally, we noticed upregulation of some genes associated with aging and cellular senescence, including isoforms of putative vascular cell adhesion molecule 1 (VCAM1), protein O-GlcNAcase (OGA), protein kinase C alpha type (KPCA), prolow-density lipoprotein receptor-related protein 1 (LRP1). Noteworthy, MF treatment was also associated with the elevated transcription of transposons, which are highly abundant in the N. guentheri genome. In conclusion, MF compensates for the age-dependent downregulation of neuronal activity genes, but its effect on aging brain transcriptome still cannot be considered unambiguously positive

    Measurements of the total and differential cross sections of Higgs boson production are performed using 20.3~fb1^{-1} of pppp collisions produced by the Large Hadron Collider at a center-of-mass energy of s=8\sqrt{s} = 8 TeV and recorded by the ATLAS detector. Cross sections are obtained from measured HγγH \rightarrow \gamma \gamma and HZZ4H \rightarrow ZZ ^{*}\rightarrow 4\ell event yields, which are combined accounting for detector efficiencies, fiducial acceptances and branching fractions. Differential cross sections are reported as a function of Higgs boson transverse momentum, Higgs boson rapidity, number of jets in the event, and transverse momentum of the leading jet. The total production cross section is determined to be σppH=33.0±5.3(stat)±1.6(sys)pb\sigma_{pp \to H} = 33.0 \pm 5.3 \, ({\rm stat}) \pm 1.6 \, ({\rm sys}) \mathrm{pb}.     Measurement of the charge asymmetry in top quark pair production in pp collisions at √s = 7 using the ATLAS detector

    A measurement of the top-antitop production charge asymmetry A is presented using data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 1.04 fb −1 of pp collisions at TeV collected by the ATLAS detector at the LHC. Events are selected with a single lepton (electron or muon), missing transverse momentum and at least four jets of which at least one jet is identified as coming from a b -quark. A kinematic fit is used to reconstruct the event topology. After background subtraction, a Bayesian unfolding procedure is performed to correct for acceptance and detector effects. The measured value of A is , consistent with the prediction from the Monte Carlo generator of A =0.006±0.002. Measurements of A in two ranges of invariant mass of the top-antitop pair are also shown

    Measurement of jet shapes in top-quark pair events at using the ATLAS detector

    A measurement of jet shapes in top-quark pair events using 1.8 fb −1 of pp collision data recorded by the ATLAS detector at the LHC is presented. Samples of top-quark pair events are selected in both the single-lepton and dilepton final states. The differential and integrated shapes of the jets initiated by bottom-quarks from the top-quark decays are compared with those of the jets originated by light-quarks from the hadronic W -boson decays in the single-lepton channel. The light-quark jets are found to have a narrower distribution of the momentum flow inside the jet area than b -quark jets
