Cytogenetic Effects of Benzene on Human Blood Cells

    Get PDF
The study aims to investigate the cytogenetic effect of benzene on human blood cells in vitro using chromosomes abnormalities and mitotic index test. Different concentrations of benzene were added to human blood culture at 24 hour, then cells were arrested at metaphase to detect chromosomes malformations and its proliferation, the result show that benzene causes increased in mitotic index level and different aberrations in chromosomes which increased with benzene concentrations. Keywords: Benzene, Chromosomes abnormalities, Mitotic index

Inhibition of cyclophosphomide mutagenicity using Glycyrrihza glabra root extract

    Get PDF
The aims of the studying is using methanolic - water extract of the Glycyrrihza glabra root for inhibition the mutagenicity of anticancer drug by cytogenetic assays in vivo in three interaction between the drug and extract. The result shows that the extract is bioantimutagenesis. The treatment by extract after drug causes increase mitotic index and decrease chromosome aberration and sperm head abnormalities. The thin layer chromatography of the extract show that is contains different polar compounds

Cytotoxic and Genotoxic Effect of Aflatoxin B1

Wind energy is currently widely regarded as one of the most favorable green clean sources of energy. Several wind turbine principles with various generator architectures have been evolved to exchange the available wind energy into electric power. The DFIG partial Variable-Speed Wind Turbine (VSWT) system is most proper for wind turbine energy because of its numerous benefits over Fixed-Speed Wind Turbines (FSWT). This paper introduces a comparative review of the different wind turbine conversion energy and a valuable summary of the recent work in the literature on different Wind Energy Conversion Systems (WECS) of a DFIG modeling, Maximum Power Point (MPP), and the latest control system for operation. On the other side, comparisons and discussions between different wind turbines have been presented in the current study to be beneficial for research studies

In the title compound, [Cd4Cl8(C6H16N2)4], the Cd2+ cations and Cl− anions form M4Cl8 clusters with six of the Cl− ions bridging Cd2+ cations and two being pendant. Each Cd2+ cation has distorted octahedral coordination completed by four Cl− ions and two N atoms of the asymmetrical bidentate amino ligand. The cluster consists of pairs of face-sharing hexahedra linked by a shared edge

Recent studies indicated a high prevalence of hyperglycemia in non-diabetic patients presenting with acute coronary syndrome (ACS). However, the threshold of admission glucose (AG) as a predictor of adverse events in ACS is unclear

© The Author(s) 2019. Objectives: To investigate the attitudes of Emirati women aged 30–64 years towards menopause and determine the relationships between these attitudes and their sociodemographic and reproductive characteristics. Study design: A community-based cross-sectional study was conducted with 497 Emirati women attending five primary health care centres in Dubai using a multistage stratified and clustered random sampling technique. Emirati women were interviewed face-to-face via a structured questionnaire with two parts: sociodemographic and reproductive characteristics and the attitudes towards menopause scale. Results: The mean ± S.D. of age was 42.06 years ± 8.716 (median 40 years). Mean age at menopause for the study sample (N = 436) was 49.94 years ± 4.593 (median 50 years). Of the respondents, 36.6% had completed high school, and 41.4% had graduated from university. Approximately, 70.8% of the women were premenopausal, 13.1% were perimenopausal and 16.1% were postmenopausal. Sixty-four percent of the respondents had never used oral contraceptive pills, while 32.9% were past users; 44.6% were employed outside the home. Mean average attitudes score ± S.D. was 2.42 ± 0.26 (minimum score of 1 indicates very negative attitudes, maximum score of 4 indicates very positive attitudes). Statistically significant differences in mean average attitudes score were noted for employment and menopausal status, and mean average attitudes score was positively correlated with age. Premenopausal women held more positive attitudes towards menopause than peri- and postmenopausal women. Conclusions: Emirati women displayed neutral to positive attitudes towards menopause and premenopausal women exhibited more negative attitudes towards menopause than postmenopausal women

The studying was aimed to inhibition the mutagenecity and oxidation of genomic DNA by use methanol-water extract of Glycyrrihza glabra root (GL) against anticancer drug cyclophosphomide in rats by use DNA fragmentation test, the extract characterized by thin layer chromatography TLC, and antioxidant activity by use β- carotene spray, the experiment design to use tow single dose of GL and single dose of the drug in three interaction, extract before, with and after the drug to investigate the mechanism of which extract effect inside cell. Four multiple doses for drug and extract to investigate the accumulation effect in DNA the results show that extract is contain of different polar compound and have antioxidant activity, so the extract is bio-antimutagenesis and poor dismutagenesis activity, the extract can inhibit accumulation effect of mutagenecity and oxidation activity of the drug
