Descriptive Study Methodology in Al-Badeea Book for Ibn Khalweh

    Get PDF
This research is concerned with the study of the recitation of the Qur’an. It aims to elaborate the methodology applied in Al-Badi’, Ibn-Khalweih’s book on Qur’anic recitations. It also seeks to give a descriptive account of Al-Badi’, as one of the earlier books on recitations. The research obviously adopts a descriptive approach. According to the research results, the book’s name is Al-Badi’, and it presents in brief the well known seven recitation styles in addition to an eighth one, namely that of Ya’qub Ibn-Isshaq. The research recommends that further studies be conducted on Ibn-Khalaweih, scholarly works in Qur’anic recitation styles and related grammatical analyses. Also, Al-Badi should be critically investigated so that maximum academic benefits can be attained

This research aimed at identifying the impact of a suggested program in developing some listening skills among students of Arabic Linguistics Institute in King Saud University. The Sample consisted of 22 students of the 4th level of the Arabic language students of non-native speakers of Arabic linguistics Institute in King Saud University, they were divided into two groups: experimental group 11 students, and control group 11 students. The Researcher prepared the following educational materials and evaluation tools: A List of the appropriate listening skills for the 4th level students, the Educational program for developing listening skills, and a listening skills test. the validity and reliability of these tools has been confirmed by an appropriate statistical ways. The Findings showed the positive impact of the suggested program in developing some listening skills for research sample. The Research presented a number of recommendation for Interesting teaching listening courses and for developing other language skills

An Extension Of Rahim And Banerjee'S Model For A Process With Upper And Lower Specification Limits

In this paper, we consider the model of Rahim and Banerjee (1988) for a process with random linear drift. We present an extension of their model for a process having both upper and lower specification limits. The model finds the optimal initial setting of the process mean and the optimal cycle length. We use Hooke and Jeeves search algorithm to optimize the model, and provide a numerical example

Determination Of The Optimal Process Means And Production Cycles For Multistage Production Systems Subject To Process Deterioration

    Get PDF
In this paper, a multistage manufacturing system is considered. Each stage consists of a process which is subject to random deterioration with time. A mathematical model is developed for this problem to minimize the cost of maintenance (process adjustments), quality, and penalties for unfulfilled demand for items. The model rinds optimal initial settings of the process means and optimal cycle lengths. A Hook and Jeeves search algorithm is used to optimize the model, and a numerical example is provided. Sensitivity analysis of the given model is presented. Finally, some suggestions for improving performance of the process are presented

The recent agricultural development in Hail region: Saudi Arabia

The agricultural sector in Saudi Arabia has experienced an enormous change over the last ten years. This was a result of the government's plan to achieve self-sufficiency in some stategic agricultural products, particularly wheat and vegetables. To obtain this the government has offered a guaranteed market for domestic wheat at a supported price far above the world market price. This policy has brought an enormous expansion in the cultivated land and some far-reaching changes in cropping patterns and agricultural structure. This thesis attempts to examine the recently evolving farm structure in one of these developing areas, the Hail Region of north-central Saudi Arabia. After analysing the main physical, human, and economic factors influencing agricultural development in the whole of Hail, the thesis focuses on the sedimentary eastern part of the region in which nearly all the recent agricultural development has taken place. The study is based on a primary survey in which over 2000 modern farms were mapped and their characteristics were recorded, and on a more detailed survey of ten per cent of these farms in which a questionnaire was used. The thesis has provided a detailed examination of the structure and cropping patterns of these farms, including their sizes, irrigation systems, types of machinery and equipment used, crop and livestock enterprises, and marketing. Despite the many advantages of this rapid development there have been several weaknesses and negative aspects. The study examines the main problems confronting agriculture in Hail Region. These include the over-exploitation of groundwater resources, the emergence of soil salinity, the lack of skill and shortage of labour supply and the inadequate marketing system. Attempted solutions to some of these problems are suggested, and areas for further agricultural development in the region are identified.</p
