Effectiveness of Intel Package on Developing Critical Thinking Skills of Ninth Basic Grade Students in National and Civil Education Subject
This study aimed to identify the effectiveness of Intel Package on developing the critical thinking skills of the ninth basic grade students in National and Civil Education subject . The sample of the study which consisted of 156 male and female students of Al-balqa Directorate Education for the year 2012/2013 was distributed into two groups ;experimental group consisted of 77 male and female students taught by Intel PackageĀ and the control group consisted of 79Ā taught by the traditional method. The results of the study revealed that there were statistically significant differences at the level of significance )Āµ = 0.05( in developing the critical thinking skills of the ninth basic grade students in the National and Civil Education subject attributedĀ to the method of teaching and in favor of the experimental group and the results also revealed that there were no statistically differences in developing critical thinking of the students attributed to gender variable or to the interaction between the group and the gender variables. Keywords: Intel package, critical thinking , National and Civil Education subject
Developing the Mathematical Skills among Sample of Down syndrome by Education Technology
The purpose of the current study is to know the influence of a program based on education technology in developing mathematical operations (subtraction and addition operations ) for a sample of (50) male and female students of Down Syndrome in the National Association for Mentally Disabled.Ā The method used in this study is the quasi-experimental approach and a computerized program had been promoted to develop e the mathematical skills. The results indicated that the effect of this program on the members of the sample were for the benefit of the experimental group. Furthermore, there were statistical significance differences (?=0.05) attributed to gender in favor of females. On the other hand, the results of the study showed the absence of statistical significance differences (?=0.05) attributed to the effect of the interaction between the program and gender in the skills of addition and subtraction besides the impact of gender. Key words: Education technology program, mathematical skills (add, subtract), Down syndrome
Developing Two study Units in the Social and National Education According to the Generative Constructivist Model and Measuring their Effects on Improvement of Higher Thinking Skills and Life Skills for Students of Basic Stage
The purpose of this study was to develop two study units in the social and national education according to the generative constructivist model and to measure their effects on thinking skills and life skills of the basic stage students. Study sample consisted of 60 third-grade students from AL-Yadodah school (Jordan) in the year 2013-2014. To achieve the objectives of the study, a higher thinking skills and life skills tests were prepared. The researchers developed the two study units according to the generative constructivist model. The study results showed that the experimental group outscored the control group on both the higher thinking skills, and on the post testing of the life skills
Letrozole before TESE in Non-Obstructive Azoospermia, Does It Affect Sperm Retrieval Rate, A Retrospective Study
Objective: This study was designed to evaluate the effect of letrozole 2.5 mg, an aromatase inhibitor, on the sperm retrieval rate (SRR) by the testicular sperm extraction (TESE) procedures that was done for the treatment of males with non-obstructive azoospermia (NOA).Materials and methods: Data was collected retrospectively from males diagnosed with non-obstructive azoospermia who underwent TESE procedure in the duration between May 2010 until June, 2018. The collected data includes the age of the patient, body mass index (BMI), testicular volume, hormonal profile (FSH LH, prolactin, testosterone), and the use of letrozole preoperatively. Logistic regression was done to address the association of these parameters to the spermās retrieval rate. Results: The study screaned 145 patients. Eighty patients fit the inclusion criteria and thus they were statistically analyzed. The use of letrozole was associated with negative TESE outcome (p=0.006), odd (0.154) CI 0.04-0.579. The other factors had no significant correlation to the TESE results. Conclusion: The evidence in this study showed an adverse effect of letrozole use on TESE results of those with high FSH
Prostatic signet-ring adenocarcinoma: A case report
Background: Prostatic signet-ring adenocarcinoma is a rare histological variant of prostate cancer. The tumor is characterized by an aggressive clinical course. Methods: Herein we present the case of a 78-year-old man with obstructive urinary symptoms and elevated serum prostate specific antigen. Transurethral resection of the prostate was performed. Results: Histologically, a tumor that was mainly composed of signet ring cells was identified. The tumor cells were positive for alcian blue special stain. Another Gleason 4 adenocarcinoma component was identified. The patient received hormonal therapy. A favorable response was documented at 8 months of follow up. Conclusions: Ruling out another primary site of origin, such as the gastrointestinal tract, is mandatory, and a more aggressive management plan should be put in mind

Retrospective analysis of patients with surgically proven ovarian torsion, our experience
Aim: To study the patients who were admitted to our hospital with surgically proven ovarian torsion and were operated for the same and to study for whom detorsion was done. Materials and Methods: A retrospective analysis of the medical records and surgical notes of 150 patients with surgically proven ovarian torsion over a 10-year period between January 2011 and January 2021 was carried out. Surgical notes included details like mode of the surgery (laparotomy or laparoscopy), type of surgery (oophorectomy, detorsion, detorsion with cystectomy), whether fixation was done or not, size of mass/ovary, laterality, appearance of the torted ovary, color of the ovary, and number of twists. Histopathologic reports of the patients who underwent oophorectomy or detorsion with cystectomy were also recorded. Results: During the 10-year study period, 88 (58.7%) patients had undergone laparotomy and 62 (41.2%) patients had undergone laparoscopy. Detorsion with cystectomy was done in 96 (64%) cases, detorsion alone in 14 (9.3%) cases, and oophorectomy was done in 40 (26.6%) cases. There was no significant difference in terms of increase in postoperative complications. Conclusion: Laparoscopic detorsion with cystectomy is the most common surgical procedure used for ovarian torsion at King Hussein Medical Center
