© 2016 by iSER, International Society of Educational Research. The comparison of content and dynamic parameters of personal value-meaning systems of Kazakh and Russian undergraduates (n=88) has revealed some cultural differences among them. The content of value-meaning sphere of the Russian and Kazakh undergraduates are similar, while the dynamic aspect of this one reveal more differences in the both samples. Content specifics demonstrate differences only in the ranking of such values as love and interesting job within the general hierarchy of personal values. Dynamic specifics, in their turn, reveal themselves in a difference of perception of the attainability of values as well as in the level of realisability of values. The Kazakhs are more pronounced existential installation realisability values, thus the meaning type of values did not reveal significant differences. The fullness of life meaning is higher in the Russian sample. The research results are useful to create educational trajectories of undergraduates in poly-cultural educational space

Titanium sponge process flowchart includes the following main operations: concentrates reduction melting (example for concentrate from the Obukhovskoe field, the Republic of Kazakhstan), chlorination of obtained titanium slug, refining of industrial tetrachloride and ma gnesium-thermic reduction of titanium tetrachloride purified from any impurities. This paper presents the results of material flows balance studies and quality analysis of the technological products. It is shown that stillage bottoms pulp feed on the melt mirror of potassium chloride electrolyte with a speed less than 2,5 t/h excludes the temperature overshoot within 570 - 620 °C of titanium tetrachloride vapors sublimation. Chlorinator melt bubbling in the process initial period with dried air (nitrogen) can significantly improve the quality of titanium products

Clade-Specific Distribution of Antibiotic Resistance Mutations in the Population of Mycobacterium tuberculosis - Prospects for Drug Resistance Reversion

    Get PDF
Tuberculosis, caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis (Mtb), is a leading cause of death in humans worldwide. The emergence of antibiotic-resistant strains of Mtb is a threat to tuberculosis control. A general belief is that drug resistance is acquired by Mtb during antibiotic treatment by accumulation of spontaneous mutations. Also, it is known that the drug resistance mutations (DRM) have an associated fitness cost, reducing the transmissibility and virulence of resistant strains. In this work we show that many canonical DRM are clade specific; i.e. they occur only in specific genetic lineages of Mtb and depend on a specific genetic context necessary for the reduction of the fitness cost and sustainability of the drug resistance phenotype. Dependence of the drug resistance on occurrence of genetic variants of multiple genes and specific activities of the encoded proteins allows combating the drug resistance by impairing the global genetic context. A new drug, FS-1, reverses antibiotic resistance by compromising this genetic context and aggravating the fitness cost of DRM

This scientific article discusses the use of vegetable raw materials for enriching and expanding the range of meat products. Rosae fructus powder was selected as a vegetable raw material. In accordance with the regulatory and technical documentation, recipes of experimental samples of boiled sausages were compiled. Rosae fructus powder was introduced into the formulation of prototypes in the amount of 0,5 %, 1 %, 1,5 %, 2 %, 2,5 % from the mass of raw materials. Physico-chemical and organoleptic research of finished products were carried out, according to the results of which the optimal content of Rosae fructus powder (1.5 %) was selected for the development of a new meat product formulation. The developed product was characterized by a high content of carbohydrates, proteins, moisture and had a low level of fat mass fraction, which indicates a positive effect of the vegetable additive on the functional and consumer properties of finished products

Objective. То evaluate the cardiac rhythm variability data and systole-diastolic changes of intracardiac circulatory dynamics in military servicemen with arterial hypertension. Materials and methods. 73 military servicemen with arterial hypertension of II degree were evaluated on intracardiac circulatory dynamics state using the echocardiography method in gross volume, and on clinical condition using the 6-minute-walk test in order to reveal the chronic heart failure criteria and cardiac rhythm variability data using the cardiorhythmography method. Results. The analysis of intracardiac circulatory dynamics data revealed that 66 (91.6%) military servicemen with arterial hypertension had diastolic dysfunction of the left ventricle. At the patients with chronic heart failure of I and II functional class with arterial hypertension, the increase of linear and volumetric data of the left ventricle was noted. The cardiac rhythm variability study in military servicemen with arterial hypertension according to cardiorhythmography data showed the signs of vegetative dysregulation, reflecting the sympathetic effects at I functional class of chronic heart failure and paradoxical parasympathetic effects at II functional class of chronic heart failure. The evaluation of the cardiac rhythm variability data can be used as a criterion to therapeutic measures effectiveness and to further risk decrease in progression of chronic heart failure with arterial hypertension.

The role of Pnut and its functional domains in Drosophila spermatogenesis

    Get PDF
Drosophila Pnut protein belongs to the family of septins, conservative GTPases participating in cytokinesis and many more other fundamental cellular processes. Because of their filamentous appearance, membrane association and functions, septins are considered as the fourth component of the cytoskeleton, along with actin, microtubules and intermediate filaments. However, septins are much less studied than the other cytoskeleton elements. We had previously demonstrated that deletion of the peanut (pnut) gene leads to mitotic abnormalities in somatic cells. The goal of this work was to study the role of pnut in Drosophila spermatogenesis. We designed a construct for pnut RNA interference allowing pnut expression to be suppressed ectopically. We analyzed the effect of pnut RNA interference on Drosophila spermatogenesis. The most sensitive to Pnut depletion were germ line cells at the earliest stages of spermatogenesis: the suppression of pnut expression at these stages leads to male sterility as a result of immotile sperm. Testes of those sterile males did not show any significant meiotic defects; axonemes and mitochondria were normal. We also analyzed the effect of mutations in Pnut conservative domains on Drosophila spermatogenesis. Mutations in the GTPase domain resulted in cyst elongation defects. Deletions of the C-terminal domain led to abnormal testis morphology. Both GTPase domain and C-terminal domain mutant males were sterile and produced immotile sperm. To summarize, we showed that Pnut participates in spermiogenesis, that is, late stages of spermatogenesis, when major morphological changes in spermatocytes occur
