Trans Urethral Resection of the Prostate (TURP) is one of the gold operating standards for people with Benign Prostate Hyperplasia (BPH), but the complications, like bleedings, often occur both in durante and post-surgery. The risk of bleeding in TURP is caused by angiogenesis. Hypoxia-Induced Factor-1 Alpha (HIF-1 α) is one of the trigger factors for angiogenesis in BPH. Based on the existing literature, it was found that there was a relationship between lycopene and dutasteride which both had a synergistic effect in inhibiting angiogenesis. However, the mechanism is unknown. This study aims to assess the effectiveness of the combination of dutasteride and lycopene on the expression of HIF-1α and hematocrit levels in BPH patients undergoing TURP surgery. This research was an experimental study with "Double-Blind Randomized Controlled Trial Post Test Only Design". The 22 patients were divided into 2 groups, namely T (dutasteride + lycopene), C (lycopene+plasebo), which were given every 24 hours for a minimum of 30 days until the TURP operation was carried out. The observation of HIF-1α expression used immunohistochemical methods. Different tests were conducted between the groups with Independent T-test. The result shows the combination of dutasteride and lycopene was not significant in reducing the HIF-1α expression, indicated by mean rank in the group (C) (= 21.60), group (T) (= 20.00). The results obtained from the Independent   T-test were (p = 0.410), meaning the difference in HIF-1α expression between the 2 groups was not significant: Average Δ Ht group C (= 1.26); group T (= -0,98). The statistical test with the Independent T-test obtained (p = 0.027), where there were significant differences. Giving a combination of dutasteride and lycopene for at least 30 days pre-TURP surgery was not effective in reducing the expression of hypoxia-induced factor - 1 alpha (HIF-1α) but was effective in reducing hematocrit levels compared to a single administration of dutasteride in BPH patients undergoing TURP surgery

Background. Primary squamous cell carcinoma (PSCC) of the thyroid is a very aggressive malignancy with a poor prognosis. There is no consensus for the management of primary squamous cell carcinoma (PSCC) of the thyroid, and this is based on rare cases in which the frequency of occurrence is less than 1% of thyroid malignancies. How squamous cell carcinoma originates in the thyroid gland is an interesting topic to discuss, because the thyroid gland does not have a squamous cell epithelium. Case Presentation. A 43-year-old man was admitted to the DR Kariadi Hospital with complaints of a lump on the right neck. In June 2020, the patient complained of a lump in the right neck area with a diameter of about 1x1x1 cm, no pain. Ultrasound of the colli at the regional hospital showed the impression of multiple lymphadenopathy of the right colli level 2-5, and there were cystic nodules with solid parts in the right and left lobes of the thyroid suspected of being benign. An adenectomy operation was performed at a regional hospital and the impression of metastatic squamous undifferentiated carcinoma was obtained. Conclusion. The management of thyroid PSCC is a multimodality therapy, namely surgery, chemotherapy and radiation

Introduction: Head injury is a major cause of death, especially in young adults and a major cause of disability. The incidence of head injuries is increasing due to the increasing use of motorized vehicles. As many as 4% of cases of head fracture occur in the base of the cranii. Method: This research used a descriptive observational method. The data used is secondary data taken from medical records. In this study, we wanted to know the incidence of cranii base fracture cases due to head trauma in patients treated at Dr. Kariadi period 2019. Result: From 29 samples of medical records obtained, 48.3% had mild head trauma, 27.6% had moderate head trauma, and 24.1% had severe head trauma. Symptoms of patients with the most clinical symptoms of cranii base fracture were raccoon eyes 51.7%, with the most fracture locations in the anterior fossa as much as 51.7%. Conclusion: The incidence of cranii fracture due to head trauma at RSUP Dr. Kariadi in 2019 was found mostly over 40 years old and most of them were men. The type of injury is a minor head injury, with the largest location in the anterior fossa, and the most common clinical sign found in patients with cranii fracture is raccoon eyes
