    The Intellectual Capital Effect on Financial Performances at Islamic Insurance

    The research has analyzed the intellectual capital effect of the Islamic insurance company’s financial performance. Intellectual capital is quantified by VAICTM (Value Added Intellectual Capital), for efficiency components are physical capital coefficient (VACA), human capital coefficient (VAHU), and structural capital coefficient (STVA). Financial performance is quantified by ROA and RBC. Data is given from seven Islamic insurance companies during 2009-2013. Data analysis used is PLS (Partial Least Square). The result shows that intellectual capital factors had an affect the company’s financial performance. Intellectual capital relation to financial performance parameter value estimated coefficient 0,845 with t-statistic 46,771. VAICTM enables to elucidate financial performance variable 71, 6%, is by finding the R-square PERF value (financial performance) 0,716.DOI:Β 10.15408/aiq.v7i2.169

    Pembelajaran Via Google Classroom sebagai Alternatif Solusi Efektif Pembelajaran di Era Pandemi

    This study tries to illustrate how students can access alternative learning techniques via online ways during a pandemic. In the Covid-19 emergency, educators and students will have a unique experience. The government implemented a policy on online education to enable pupils to learn even when they are socially isolated. The impact of the learning process throughout the epidemic since the start of 2020 is the result of digital transformation efforts as a means of instruction for teachers and pupils. This research employs a descriptive qualitative approach. The primary sources of data are teachers and students in elementary schools. Data collecting strategies included observation, interviewing, and documenting learning activities using Google Classroom during the COVID-19 epidemic. The results indicated that around 80% of the time spent using google classroom in the student learning process during the online learning period was due to the fact that it was more effective and efficient than using zoom or google meet. This demonstrates that teachers may give online learning solutions by leveraging a variety of online platforms, one of which is a Google product called Google Classroom.Keywords: Google Classroom; Online Learning; Pandemic; Social Distancing; Digital TransformationΒ AbstrakPenelitian ini mempunyai tujuan untuk menjelaskan langkah alternatif pembelajaran terhadap peserta didik melalui metode online di masa pandemi. Pemerintah mengeluarkan kebijakan tentang pembelajaran via online difungsikan agar siswa dapat belajar meski dalam keadaan social distancing. Upaya transformasi digital sebagai metode pembelajaran bagi guru dan siswa merupakan dampak dari proses pembelajaran selama pandemi sejak awal tahun 2020. Metode penelitian pada riset ini adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan jenis deskriptif. Sumber data berasal dari para guru dan para siswa di sekolah dasar. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan tehnik observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi dengan instrumen lembar wawancara serta catatan lapangan mengenai kegiatan pembelajaran selama pandemi covid-19 dengan menggunakan google classroom. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan 80% penggunaan google classroom dalam proses belajar siswa pada masa pembelajaran online lebih banyak digunakan dengan alasan penggunaan kuota internet dan waktu yang lebih efektif dan efisien, dibandingkan dengan menggunakan zoom atau google meet.     Abstract: Treasures of Science and Mathematics in Islam. Islam is the religion of the civilized. Islam is not just a religion, but a civilization that can be discerned by empirical (teachings) of the progress of human civilization, as well as the subject of the passage of a civilization. Islam has a treasures science and mathematics that have been claimed by the West as a civilization biggest contribution to science. Muslim scholars contribute ideas to the development of science and mathematics cannot be considered minor and denied. Postulates a positive relation of the essence of mathematics is not separated from the phenomenology of the Qur'an will be a proof on the monotheism. The role of Muslim scientists contributed ideas and findings on various things in the science and math adds proof that no dichotomy between religion and science.     The Influence of Human Capital and Welfare on the Quality of Democracy in Indonesia

    Abstract:Indonesia is the third-largest democratic nation in the world. Democracy is viewed as a constitutional structure capable of achieving human progress, since political rights, civil liberties and the State's responsibility for achieving human development reside in a democratic system. The objectives of this analysis are, firstly, to describe and analyze the state of democracy in Indonesia using indicators of the democracy index (political rights, civil rights, and democratic institutions); secondly, to explain and analyze the basis, policy, execution of democracy and human development; and, thirdly, to evaluate and analyze basic decisions and policies through indicators of human rights and human development. This research uses qualitative approaches based on primary data and secondary data (literature review) but also accompanied by quantitative data and triangulation analysis techniques. The findings of the study indicate that, firstly, Indonesia has largely developed a stable political structure, although there is still a great deal of frustration with the weak capability of democratic institutions. Democracy in Indonesia is still marked by unethical behavior; secondly, Indonesia's democracy continues to step forward, yet still places Indonesia in the category of procedural democracy, not yet in the category of substantive democracy; thirdly, there is a clear and constructive relationship, but not explicitly and steadily, between democracy and human progress, especially human development. The implication is that numerous ideas and arguments can be confirmed that democracy can foster human development; while Indonesia cannot yet be classified as a truly democratic country as a condition for being a welfare state.Keywords: Democracy, Renewal, Welfare, Human Development.AbstrakIndonesia adalah negara demokrasi ketiga terbesar di dunia. Demokrasi dilihat sebagai sistem politik yang mampu merealisasikan pembangunan manusia, karena dalam sistem demokrasi terdapat hak politik, kebebasan civil dan tanggungjawab negara untuk merealisasikan pembangunan manusia. Tujuan kajian ini yaitu, pertama, untuk menjelaskan dan menganalisis keadaan demokrasi di Indonesia dengan menggunakan penunjuk indeks demokrasi (hak politik, hak-hak civil dan institusi demokrasi); kedua, menjelaskan dan menganalisis dasar, strategi, pelaksanaan yang berkaitan dengan demokrasi dan pembangunan manusia; ketiga, menilai dan menganalisis keputusan dasar dan strategi melalui penunjuk indeks pembangunan manusia (pendidikan, kesehatan, kehidupan yang layak) serta menganalisis hubungan antara demokrasi dan pembangunan manusia di Indonesia. Kajian ini menggunakan kaedah kualitatif berdasarkan data primer, dan data sekunder (kajian literatur) turut didukung oleh data kuantitatif serta teknik analisis triangulasi. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa; pertama, Indonesia pada umumnya telah mengukuhkan sistem politik demokratis, walaupun masih banyak ketidakpuasan terhadap kemampuan institusi demokratik yang lemah. Demokrasi di Indonesia juga bercirikan oleh perilaku korupsi; Kedua, demokrasi Indonesia cenderung bergerak ke depan, tetapi masih terus memposisikan Indonesia dalam kategori demokrasi prosedur, belum mencapai kategori demokrasi substantif; Ketiga, ada hubungan yang signifikan dan positif walaupun tidak secara langsung dan lambat antara demokrasi dan pembangunan manusia, yaitu melalui kenaikan indeks pendidikan, indeks kesehatan, indeks kuasa beli.     Do Education Investment and Welfare of Labor Affect Productivity Growth in Indonesia?

    Increasing the education budget in Indonesia has become the focus of economic politics because it is a fundamental issue. Education, as a significant component of labor productivity, plays a vital role in driving the welfare of the workforce due to the increase in the Total Factor Productivity (TFP). This paper aims to test the quality of tertiary education by using World Bank and APO data. This paper provides an overview of tertiary education that influences TFP when juxtaposed with several other control variables and uses the ARDL (Autoregressive Distributed Lag) test. The results show that TFP growth is significantly positively affected by the improvement of tertiary education quality and production capital but is significantly affected by the welfare of the workforce.
