Developing Primary Liaison Psychiatric Services for HIV/AIDS Patients in Community
In Indonesia, the number of HIV/AIDS patients has grown at significant level. HIV can be a source of major stress which can lead to changes in mental health, such as persistent sadness, feeling empty and anxiety. The ability of liaison officer could help patients reduce their psychiatric problems and at the same time it can greatly affect patients' risks for transmission of HIV to others. This study aimed to analyze the effect of developing primary liaison psychiatric services for HIV/AIDS patients on the abilities of health care workers to provide treatments. This study used a quasi experimental design with one group pretest-posttest which included 64 health care workers aged between 20 and 50 years from the Community-Integrated Health Care in East Java. The inclusion criteria were nurses and physician in Community-Integrated Health Care. The respondents were assessed using the Abilities of Health Care Workers Checklist pre-treatment and post-treatment. The outcomes were analyzed using the Wilcoxon signed rank test. There was a significant increased in the abilities of health care workers to provide psychiatric services after treatment (p<0.05). The liaison psychiatric services were considered to be effective in increasing the abilities of health care workers in improving the treatment of HIV/AIDS
Effect of van-Hove singularities in single-walled carbon nanotube leads on transport through double quantum dot system
The double quantum dot system with single-walled metallic armchair carbon
nanotube leads has been studied using Non-equilibrium Green function in the
Keldysh formalism. The effect of relative spacing between the energy levels of
the dots, interdot tunneling matrix-element, interdot Coulomb interaction and
van-Hove singularities in density of states characteristics of
quasi-one-dimensional carbon nanotube leads on the conductance of the double
quantum dot system has been studied. The conductance and dot occupancies are
calculated at finite temperature. It is observed that the density of states of
the carbon nanotube leads play a significant role in determining the
conductance profile. In particular, whenever the chemical potential of the
isolated double quantum dot system is aligned with the position of a van-Hove
singularity in the density of states of armchair carbon nanotube leads, the
height of the corresponding conductance peak falls considerably. It is further
observed that the suppression in the heights of the alternate peaks depends on
the relative positions of the energy levels of the dots and their magnitude of
separation.Comment: 16 pages and 16 figure
Breathing Modes in Rotating Bose-Condensed Gas: An Exact Diagonalization Study
We present an exact diagonalization study of the breathing mode collective
excitations for a rotating Bose-Einstein condensate of spinless bosons
interacting via repulsive finite-range Gaussian potential and harmonically
confined in quasi-two-dimension. The yrast state and the low-lying excited
states are variationally obtained in given subspaces of the quantized total
angular momentum employing the beyond lowest Landau level approximation in
slowly rotating regime with . For a given , the low-energy
eigenspectra (bands) are obtained in weakly to moderately interacting regime.
Further, for a given interaction, the split in low-lying eigenenergies with
increasing is the precursor to spontaneous symmetry breaking of the
axisymmetry associated with the entry of the first vortex. With increase in
repulsive interaction, the value of the first breathing mode increases for
stable total angular momentum states L=0~\mbox{and}~N, but decreases for
intermediate metastable states. The position of the observed first
breathing modes in the eigenspectrum remains unchanged as the interaction is
varied over several orders of magnitude.Comment: 5 pages, 3 figures, RevTex two colum
Nursing Care Knowledge Management Based Training Decrease Nosocomial Infection Inciden in Post Sectio Cesarea Patients
Introduction: Model of nursing care based on knowledge management can reduce the incidence of nosocomial infections through the performance of nurses in the prevention of infection. Nursing care based on knowledge management is established from identi fi cation knowledge which is required, prevention performance of nosocomial infections post caesarean section. Nosocomial infections component consists of wound culture result. Method: This study was an observational study with a quasy experimental design. The population were all of nursing staff who working in obstetrics installation and a number of patients who is treated in hospitals A and B post sectio caesarea. Sample is comparised a total population all the nursing staff who worked in obstetrics installation according to criteria of the sample, and most of patients were taken care by nursing staff post caesarean section which is taken by random sampling 15 patients. Data was collected through observation sheets and examination of the wound culture. Data analysis which is used the t test. Result: The result was showed that there was signi fi cant difference in the incidence of nosocomial infection in patients with post sesctio caesarea in hospital before and after nursing care training based on knowledge management (tvalue = 2.316 and p = 0.028 < α = 0.05 level), and the incidence of nosocomial infection was lower after training than before training. Discussion: It can be concluded that training knowledge management based on nursing care effectives to reduce Incidence of Nosocomial Infections in Patients after Sectio Caesarea
