Performance Evaluation Of Qos In Wimax Network

OPNET Modeler is used to simulate the architecture and to calculate the performance criteria (i.e. throughput, delay and data dropped) that slightly concerned in network estimation. It is concluded that our models shorten the time quite a bit for obtaining the performance measures of an end-to-end delay as well as throughput can be used as an effective tool for this purpose

    Anorexia nervosa: a literature review

Anorexia nervosa, more common in females, is characterized by low body weight due to restricted intake of food, and fear to gain weight as well as distorted body image of oneself. It has a number of medical complications, such as low heart rate, hypotension, etc. These complications need consideration before starting medication for anorexia nervosa. Although, antidepressants have shown no more effectiveness as compared to placebo according to a research

    Frontotemporal dementia treatment: a review

Frontotemporal Dementia is characterized by social and behavioural symptoms, in addition to aphasia. FTD, being the fourth most common cause of dementia, is mostly prevalent in younger population. FTD is diagnosed clinically. The various pharmacological treatment options are antidepressants, cholinesterase inhibitors, and mood stabilizers. Sometimes, nursing, and psychotherapy can also be implemented

Seizure in a patient on Wellbutrin: a case report

We are reporting the case of drug-induced seizure in a 32-year-old Hispanic female who was taking wellbutrin for major depression. Our patient was taking 300 mg/day of wellbutrin when she had one episode of generalized seizure. Wellbutrin uses, side effects, and contraindications are discussed in this case report. Moreover, the factors that make individuals more vulnerable to seizures, as a side effect of wellbutrin, are also highlighted. Interestingly, wellbutrin also has addiction potential hence its abuse is becoming increasingly common that makes it crucial for the clinicians to rule out any history of substance abuse before prescribing it. Literature review has shown a reported case of seizure as a side effect of wellbutrin. Our patient remained seizure free after wellbutrin was discontinued making it the possible cause for her seizure episode

Elevated liver enzymes after olanzapine use: a case report

Olanzapine is a second-generation antipsychotic used in bipolar mania and schizophrenia. We are reporting the case of a young female patient who developed elevated liver enzymes after olanzapine use. Patient's liver enzymes improved after the discontinuation of olanzapine making it a possible cause for reversible hepatotoxicity. We recommend physicians to check liver enzymes regularly if patient is on olanzapine

Leukopenia in a patient on haloperidol decanoate: a case report

    Get PDF
We are reporting a case of leukopenia developed in a patient on haloperidol decanoate injections. A literature review revealed it as an uncommon side effect of antipsychotics; however, regular monitoring of blood cell count is crucial in patients on antipsychotics. In this case report, we discussed the effective doses, side effects, and drug interactions of haloperidol decanoate. Neuroleptic malignant syndrome is a rare but serious side effect of haloperidol

ABSTRACT Objective: The objective of the study was to determine the prevalence and associated factors for temporomandibular joint dysfunction among young adult in Karachi. Material and Methods: A cross-sectional study was carried out in (n=383) subjects with (n=165) males and (n=218) females aged between 18–30 years. The subjects were requested to answer Fonseca’s questionnaires, consisted on ten questions. The collected data sets were analyzed statistically through using the SPSS version 22. Result: A total (n=383) participants, the prevalence of TMD is 66.6%. The participant with TMD (66.6%) show 54.0% mild TMD, 12.0% moderate and 0.5% severe. Women with 61% showing TMD, as compare to men 73.93%. When considering only severe TMD, only women are affected 0.5%. Participant with any level of TMD show marked characteristics: 12.53% considered themselves tense people; 17.5% reported to clench or grind their teeth; 8.88% reported clicking of the temporomandibular joint; 24.28% reported frequent headache. Conclusion: The result of the study concluded that the TMD a high prevalence among young adult in Karachi, among participant with TMD most of the participants had mild TMD which reveals that in young population about half of the participants presented with mild TMD. Key Points: Temporomandibular disorders (TMDs), Mastication, Helkimo's indexes, Fonseca anamnestic Index (FAI

Detection and Forecasting of Parkinson Disease Progression from Speech Signal Features Using Multi-Layer Perceptron and LSTM

Accurate diagnosis of Parkinson disease, especially in its early stages, can be a challenging task. The application of machine learning techniques help improve the diagnostic accuracy of Parkinson’s disease progression. In this research work, two well-known feature selection methods (Relief-F and Sequential Forward Selection) were employed to identify the diagnostic features of audio signals of Parkinson disease patients and were used to train Multi-Layer Perceptron (MLP) and recurrent neural network Long Short-Term Memory(LSTM) for detection of disease and prediction of its progression. The MLP accurately detected Parkinson disease stages whereas LSTM successfully predicted Parkinson Stage 2 and 3
