Mini Fábrica de processamento de Gergelim: perspectivas de renda e autonomia para os jovens da comunidade rural de Choró, CE

The exodus of young people from the countryside has been occurring very frequently in the search for improvements related to financial, work and education aspects. In this context, the empirical production of research data was carried out in the community of Riacho do Meio in Choró, Ceará, in which rural young people develop activities in a mini sesame processing factory (Sesamum indicum) seeking to generate employment and income, enabling the young people stay in the community. The research aimed to understand the limits and possibilities of a mini sesame processing factory, as a strategy capable of promoting the permanence of young people in the countryside. Although there have been frustrations, related to obtaining a satisfactory income for the maintenance of young people, there is also the learning and experience acquired, in addition to the material heritage that the mini factory represents. Food processing can be an important strategy for young people in the countryside, however, for projects of this nature to be successful, it is essential to have access to working capital, in addition to a broad training process in the various stages of project implementation. seeking to develop potential and prepare them for the complexity of the activity.O êxodo de jovens do campo vem ocorrendo com muita frequência na busca por melhorias relacionadas aos aspectos financeiro, trabalho e educação. Nesse contexto, a produção empírica de dados da pesquisa realizou-se na comunidade de Riacho do Meio em Choró, no Ceará, na qual jovens rurais desenvolvem atividades numa mini fábrica de processamento de gergelim (Sesamum indicum) buscando gerar emprego e renda, possibilitando aos jovens permanecer na comunidade. A pesquisa teve como objetivo compreender os limites e possibilidades de uma mini fábrica de processamento de gergelim, como estratégia capaz de promover a permanência dos jovens no campo, para tanto utilizou-se como método a pesquisa qualitativa, tipo estudo de caso. Ainda que tenha havido frustrações, relacionadas a obtenção de renda satisfatória para a manutenção dos jovens, há também o aprendizado e experiência adquirida, além do patrimônio material que a mini fábrica representa. O processamento de alimentos pode se constituir em uma estratégia importante para os jovens no campo, entretanto para que projetos desta natureza consigam obter êxito, é essencial ter acesso a capital de giro, além de um amplo processo de formação nas diversas etapas da implantação do projeto buscando desenvolver potencialidades e prepará-los para a complexidade da atividade

Mapping of cisterns and water quality analysis at the Nova Assunção settlement in Aracoiaba, Ceará

The work aimed at mapping cisterns and analyzing water quality in the Nova Assunção settlement located in the semi-arid region of Aracoiaba, Ceará. The delimitation of the study area and the manipulation of the cartographic data were performed with the ArcMap 10.3 program. The Global Positioning System (GPS), the Garmim 76scx model, obtained the geographic location of each cistern. A semi-structured questionnaire on the use of water and ways of handling in cisterns was applied in the study area. Six physical- chemical parameters were evaluated in the water: temperature, turbidity, hydrogen ion potential (pH), total dissolved solids (STD), electrical conductivity (EC) and apparent color. Seventeen cisterns were mapped, of which 100% is used for human consumption, 76.5% of which had no protective screen. In the water analysis, inadequacy was observed for the parameters apparent color, EC, turbidity, and pH. In four cisterns, there was 50% irregularity in the attributes. Thus, the mapped cisterns are an an indispensable alternative for the storage and guarantee of water in the settled community, however, some hygiene measures are necessary to improve the use, since the highest destination of water corresponds to human consumption followed by domestic use
