Specific toxic effects of 2,4,6-trinitrotoluene on Bacillus subtilis SK1 | Osobennosti toksicheskogo éffekta 2,4,6-trinitrotoluola v otnoshenii Bacillus subtilis SK1.
Using Bacillus subtilis SK1 as an example, it was demonstrated for the first time that 2,4,6-trinitrotoluene (TNT) transformation pathways change with TNT concentration. The growth of cultured B. subtilis SK1, delayed at 20 mg/l TNT (minimum toxic concentration), was resumed following TNT transformation. Aromatic amines were predominant metabolites detected in the culture medium at early stages of TNT transformation. The culture growth was completely inhibited by 200 mg/l TNT. As this took place, nitrites accumulated in the culture medium
Words ‘svet’ [Light] and ‘solntse’ [Sun] as Main Representatives of Concept LIGHT in Work of M. M. Prishvin
The features of the content structure of the concept LIGHT in the work of M. M. Prishvin is discussed in the article. The writer’s works and diaries covering the period from 1905 to 1954 are used as a source of material. A comprehensive analysis of the linguistic material has been carried out and some individual author’s interpretations of the implicit meaning of the concept LIGHT have been identified. The work was carried out within the framework of the AntCont program, in which a corpus of 83 documents representing the writer’s texts was formed. Particular attention is paid to the semantic components of the analyzed concept, which are revealed through the reconstruction of its nominative field, including various lexico-semantic groups. The statistical indicators of nouns associated with the concept of LIGHT made it possible to single out high-frequency, mid-frequency and low-frequency units that make up the core and periphery of the concept. A corpus analysis of lexical units representing the core of the concept LIGHT was carried out in combination with the methods of component, contextual and distributional analysis. With the help of the immediate environment, 7 main features of the nuclear components (‘svet’ [light] and ‘solntse’ [sun]) that make up the concept of LIGHT in the work of M. Prishvin were identified: temporality, location, intensity, color, spirituality, temperature, appraisal
Effect of toxic concentrations of 2,4,6-trinirtotoluene on the physical properties and morphology of bacillus subtilis SK1 | Vliianie toksicheskikh kontsentratsii 2,4,6-trinitrotoluola na fizicheskie svoistva i morfologiiu kletok Bacillus subtilis SK1.
It has been demonstrated for the first time that the toxic effect of 2,4,6-trinitrotoluene on the gram-positive strain Bacillus subtilis SK1 is accompanied by a decrease in the cell size and an increase in the refraction index (i.e., density) and thermostability of the culture. These data suggest that determination of kinetic parameters of bacteria growing under the conditions of toxic stress from optical density measurements may result in erroneous conclusions
Meaning of Word ‘Content’ in Linguistic Consciousness of Young People
The article is devoted to the semantic-cognitive analysis of the meaning of the word ‘content’. The scientific novelty of the work is seen in the fact that in the linguistic literature there are no studies in which a semantic-cognitive description of the meaning of the word ‘content’ is presented. The results of a comparative analysis of the formal-logical and psycholinguistic study of the semantics of the word ‘content’ are presented. In the course of the study, a discrepancy was found between the lexicographic description and the psychological representation of concepts associated with discrepancies between the data of explanatory dictionaries and the conclusions made on the associative material. It was found that the systemic meaning of the word content, containing a minimum of features recorded in dictionaries in accordance with the principles of reductionism, is reduced to the content of messages and information. The experiment showed that in the mental representation of young people, content is perceived as unconfirmed interesting information on the Internet using visuality, written in simple language and designed to consume ⅓ of the active time of the day among modern youth
