Messa in scena e ripetizione dell'identico: l'attesa d'amore come performance
In literature as well as in everyday life, love waiting is an act, a play, a theatre monologue, a performance. For the
waiting lover, the rhythm of his waiting is measured by an almost ritual repetition of thoughts, acts, conjectures, tics,
manias. Independently of its duration or extent â it may be the long waiting for the belovedâs homecoming as well as the
agitated âmicro-waitingâ for the post or phone ring â love waiting is a continuous repetition, although customised from
time to time, of the identical process. Consciously or not, the lover seems to conform to a sort of âplay scriptâ of love
waiting which is carved in the emotional heritage of humanity and is always played, with infinitely many small
variations, in literature. Following the definition of love waiting proposed by Roland Barthes in Fragments dâun
discours amoureux, the paper aims to detect and define the performative elements of love waiting and to verify their
real presence in some XX century and contemporary pieces and novels that represent this particular kind of waiting.

The narrative work of AndreĂŻ Makine (1957), a French writer of Siberian origin, is situated on the border between two geographical and cultural spaces: on the one hand the wide, wild and snowy Siberia of his childhood; on the other hand France, a mythic place which the main characters, often teenagers, of his novels look at as a model. The contrast between these two worlds is described in a particularly forceful way in one of his early novels, Au temps du fleuve Amour (1994), in which the author tells the overwhelming effect of the screening of a popular French comedy with Jean-Paul Belmondo (Le Magnifique, 1973) in a small Siberian village. Looking closely at the entire sequence which is devoted to the film in the novel, the paper aims to reconstruct the process of mythicizing the Belmondo character by the three young protagonists and to investigate the functions that the episode covers in the novel. Focusing on the different narrative levels that characterize the film plot, we show how the âphenomenon Belmondoâ embodies in the novel the idea of a triple border: a geographic one (Europe/Asia), an expressive one (writing/imagine) and, above all, an imaginary one (reality/fiction). We also show how this phenomenon refers, in the novel, to one of the central themes of Makineâs work: literary vocation

Memorie di famiglia. Un genere ibrido del romanzo contemporaneo
The paper aims to define a hybrid genre of twentieth and twenty-first century novel that lie on the border between the family saga novel and the various forms of writing of the Self. This is the âfamily memoirâ, or âautobiographical family novelâ, i.e. a family story filtered by the point of view of one of its members. A novel that may be considered as a model in this sense is Natalia Ginzburgâs Lessico famigliare (1963), that is compared here with a small corpus of texts sharing whit it some thematic and formal characteristics: Marguerite Yourcenarâs Le Labyrinthe du monde (1974-88), PĂ©ter EsterhĂĄzyâs Harmonia Caelestis (2000), GĂŒnter Grassâ Die Box. Dunkelkammergeschichten (2008), Annie Ernauxâs Les AnnĂ©es (2008). Particular attention will be given to a specific scene: the family dinner. The ritual of everyday and festive family meals represents a meaningful common ground of interaction and contrasts between generations and as the specific moment of community life when âfamily sayingsâ take shape.
