Mental health detection in Online Social Network (OSN) is widely studied in the recent years. OSN has encouraged new ways to communicate and share information, and it is used regularly by millions of people. It generates a mass amount of information that can be utilised to develop mental health detection. The rich content provided by OSN should not be overlooked as it could give more value to the data explored by the researcher. The main purpose of this study is to extract and scrutinise related works from related literature on detection of mental health using OSN. With the focus on the method used, machine learning algorithm, sources of OSN, and types of language used for the mental health detection were chosen for the study. The basic design of this study is in the form of a survey from the literature related to current research in mental health. Major findings revealed that the most frequently used method in mental health detection is machine learning techniques, with Support Vector Machine (SVM) as the most chosen algorithm. Meanwhile, Twitter is the major data source from OSN with English language used for mental health detection. The researcher found a few challenges from the previous studies and analyses, and these include limitations in language barrier, account privacy in OSN, single type of OSN, text analysis, and limited features selection. Based on the limitations, the researcher outlined a future direction of mental health detection using language based on user’s geo-location and mother tongue. The use of pictorial, audio and video formats in OSN could become one of the potential areas to be explored in future research. Extracting data from multiple sources of OSNs with new features selection will probably improve mental health detection in the future. In conclusion, this research has a big potential to be explored further in the future

This research showed a descriptive analysis on student readiness towards online learning during movement control order (MCO) due to pandemic covid-19. The readiness of the students’ needs to be studied due to the new normal which take an immediate effect and change our lifestyle including the way of learning. The focus of this research was on readiness elements such as technology access quality and facility, online learning time management, skills, tools, and online learning system. We also included additional questions about the response towards learning, if the movement control order period extended and response to the post (after) covid-19 events. This research design was using a quantitative approach through questionnaire survey that has been distributed online to the students of Kolej Universiti Islam Antarabangsa Selangor (KUIS). A total of 2208 respondents answered the questions and analyzed statistically. The results found that the students’ readiness was in moderate level due to the pandemic of covid-19. The lecturers must be more creative and flexible in term of knowledge delivery in the new normal of learning environment

Introductory programming is a basic course compulsory for students majoring in computer studies. This course is considered a difficult course to learn since time immemorial. Starting from 2020, measures taken by the Malaysian government in dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic has resulted in the educational institutions to be closed to students and face-to-face lessons replaced with online classes. Therefore, the process of learning programming becomes increasingly difficult since the instructors are unable to have face-to-face interaction with neither their local nor their international students during online classes. This paper aims to implement CodeZinger, used as an initiative to replace physical laboratory classes, and is used in monitoring the students’ achievement. In this study, the application of CodeZinger was made on two programming courses involving 266 students of Year 1, namely students taking the Computer Programming course (semester 1), and Data Structure course (semester 2). The diverse test data provided by the instructors made the students more skilful and critical in doing programming, and easier for students due to the automatic assessment function provided in CodeZinger. This study’s findings greatly influence students’ motivation in learning programming, considering that CodeZinger allows prompt feedback and automatic assessment. Moreover, for the instructors’ view of point, CodeZinger allows instructors to manage and identify students who need extra assistance in programming. In conclusion, CodeZinger assisted the students in optimizing the management of learning programming where CodeZinger provides the solution for problems and obstacles in face-to-face learning, facilitated the students in learning at their own pace, and facilitated the instructors in monitoring the students’ tasks

Development of holistic Islamic organisational culture model (I-Holismik) in Islamic banking institutions in Malaysia

    No full text
Islamic organisational culture is a set of values based on the Qur`an, Sunnah, Ijma and Qiyas that help the members of the organisation to understand the purpose of the organisation, how the organisation works and its interests. The practise of Islamic organisational culture through the Islamic Banking System (SPI) is a manifestation of the fundamental re-emergence of Islamic values in Islamic banks. The main objective of this study is to develop a holistic model of Islamic organisational culture that can be applied in banking institutions in Malaysia for the sustainability of organisational management. This qualitative study uses observation, documentation and interview methods to develop a detailed Islamic organisational culture model in Islamic banking institutions in Malaysia. The resulting data was then analysed using ATLAS.ti. The findings of the study suggest a holistic model of Islamic organisational culture that focuses on Islamic banking institutions as the medium and implementation site for organisational management sustainability. It is expected that the development of this new model will be a reference for Islamic banking institutions, especially in further strengthening the management of the organisation as well as in creating a holistic Islamic organisational culture that can directly enliven Islamic law in general
