Heredity for generalized power domination
In this paper, we study the behaviour of the generalized power domination
number of a graph by small changes on the graph, namely edge and vertex
deletion and edge contraction. We prove optimal bounds for
, and for in
terms of , and give examples for which these bounds are
tight. We characterize all graphs for which for any edge . We also consider the behaviour of the
propagation radius of graphs by similar modifications.Comment: Discrete Mathematics and Theoretical Computer Science, 201
Viewpoints: Why Dialogue With Hindus?
The Christians of India like the Christians all over the world are a minority amidst the nations or peoples other than Christians. Christians in India have the unique privilege of living with a very God conscious people -- the Hindus. One cannot help but admire the simple piety of the millions who recently went for a holy dip to Varanasi. The faith, the sincerity and the utter devotion of the devotees are often beyond the understanding of those who believe that a true devotee should express his faith differently, the way Jesus said, God is a spirit and they that worship Him must worship Him in spirit and in truth. Symbolic rituals to such devotees are unnecessary and superfluous. Yet a close and in-depth study of Hinduism and Christianity however soon reveals that Christianity is in no way alien to Indian philosophy but a fulfilment or a simpler revelation of sublime Hindu thought and ideals
Kata Kunci: Partisipasi Masyarakat; Dana Desa; Pengawasan ABSTRACTIn the current era of government, villages have a very strategic position in a series of national development processes, in line with efforts to improve village development and improve community welfare, the village has a Village Income and Expenditure Budget (APBDes) in which there is a source of village income consisting of funds Village (DD), Village Fund Allocation (ADD) and other legal sources of income. Village funds are APBN funds allocated to villages that are transferred through the Regency / City APBD and prioritized for the implementation of development and empowerment of village communities. Village funds also aim to improve public services in the village, alleviate poverty, advance the village economy, overcome development gaps between villages and strengthen village communities as development subjects, the monitoring room for the use of Village Funds by the community starts at the planning stage or better known as the Planning Consultation. Development (Musrenbang). In the management and utilization of Village Funds, active participation from the community is needed, from the planning, implementation, to evaluation stages. However, many facts show that community participation in the management and utilization of the Village Fund is still very minimal. This is caused by many factors, including the level of education of the community. As a result, after the program was implemented, there were many complaints from the community itself. Likewise, what happened in Karatung Village, where space for community participation in Musrembang had been given by the village government, however, the level of community participation was still low. Engaging Influential Network Members in the Community to Advocate for Health and Aspirations of Unmarried Adolescent Girls in Kolkata, India
Working with unmarried adolescent girls on issues related to their health, nutrition and building life skills impacts the health of their children in the future. This paper presents both the needs analysis and the outline of a project proposal resulting from the needs analysis to work with unmarried adolescent girls. Project ASHAYEIN (Advocacy for Supporting Health & Aspirations of Youth by Engaging their Influential Networks) - the acronym means hopes and wishes in Hindi- seeks to create a web of support to reduce the vulnerability of adolescent girls in an urban slum community in the Howrah area of West Bengal India and, in turn, help navigate their lives as the next generation of women in the community. the project is designed with a two-pronged approach, working both with unmarried adolescent girls and with groups of individuals which constitute their social networks. A needs analysis to inform the design of the project was conducted through individual interviews and group discussions using the principles of \u27social network analysis with 27 unmarried adolescent girls between the ages of 10-19 years.
The findings from the needs analysis has led to the development of a three-year pilot project which will be implemented by Calcutta Kids Trust - a non-profit organization in India. The project has larger goals to (a) delay the age of marriage and first pregnancy, (b) reduce the rates of anemia, (c) improve health and nutrition knowledge and practices and develop life skills among unmarried adolescent girls, and (d) build a support structure in the community to break the intergenerational cycle of malnutrition

How effective are college based websites at providing students with the information necessary to make an informed college choice?
The purpose of the project was to develop a rubric to assess whether a selected group of college websites, chosen to represent most of what is available to students, meet the requirements necessary for students to make an informed college choice. The project was undertaken as a way to determine if these sites, individually or as a whole, present enough information for students to make a choice that correctly aligns with their college aspirations
SINGLE EVENT UPSET DETECTION IN FIELD PROGRAMMABLE GATE ARRAYS
The high-radiation environment in space can lead to anomalies in normal satellite operation. A major cause of concern to spacecraft-designers is the single event upset (SEU). SEUs can result in deviations from expected component behavior and are capable of causing irreversible damage to hardware. In particular, Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs) are known to be highly susceptible to SEUs. Radiation-hardened versions of such devices are associated with an increase in power consumption and cost in addition to being technologically inferior when compared to contemporary commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) parts. This thesis consequently aims at exploring the option of using COTS FPGAs in satellite payloads. A framework is developed, allowing the SEU susceptibility of such a device to be studied. SEU testing is carried out in a software-simulated fault environment using a set of Java classes called JBits. A radiation detector module, to measure the radiation backdrop of the device, is also envisioned as part of the final design implementation
