Dynamically generated hadronic states in the KˉN\bar{K}N and ηN\eta N coupled-channels interactions

We compare and review the theoretical predictions for the KˉN\bar{K}N and ηN\eta N elastic amplitudes where sizable variations are found among the considered approaches, especially at subthreshold energies relevant for studies of kaonic atoms and meson-nuclear quasi-bound states. Conditions for an appearance of dynamically generated states in meson-baryon multi-channel interactions are established and discussed for the KˉN\bar{K}N and ηN\eta N systems.Comment: 7 pages, 5 figures, proceedings of the EXA2017 conference, Vienna, Austria, September 11-15, 2017, published versio

Transaction Banking: Respecting its role in the real economy. ECRI Policy Brief No. 6, 6 December 2013

This paper sketches the main features and issues related to recent market developments in global transaction banking (GTB), particularly in trade finance, cash management and correspondent banking. It describes the basic functioning of the GTB, its interaction with global financial markets and related implications of global regulatory developments such as Basel III. The interest in GTB has recently increased, since its low-risk profile, tendency to follow growth rates worldwide and relative independence from other financial instruments became an interesting diversification opportunity both for banks’ business models and for investors. Transaction banking has been a resilient business during the crisis, despite the reduction in world trade figures. In the post crisis period, GTB must cope with new challenges related to increased local and global regulation and the risk of inconsistency in regulatory approaches, which could negatively impact the global network and increased competition by new market entrants. Increased sophistication of corporate clients, as well as the pressure to develop and adopt technological innovations more quickly than other areas of banking continues to impact the business. The future of the industry closely depends on its ability to adjust to complex regulatory developments while at the same time being able to operate a global and efficient network

The dream of all proponents of world trade without barriers came much closer to its fulfillment when the World Trade Organization (WTO) was finally brought into existence in Marrakech, Morocco, as a result of the `Uruguay Round¿1 of multilateral trade negotiations between national governments, taking place from 1986 till 1994. The WTO agreement was signed on 15 April 1994 and entered into force on 1 January 1995. Together with the General Agreement on Trade and Tariffs (GATT), existing since 1947 and dealing with goods, two more agreements are now administered by the WTO: the General Agreement on Trade in Services (GATS) and the Trade-Related Aspects of Intellectual Property Rights (TRIPS). As a result of the Uruguay Round a range of service sectors were selected for further liberalization including educational services. The main objective of GATS remains the same as it has been for GATT - progressive liberalization should be achieved through subsequent rounds of negotiations. During these negotiations the WTO member states are expected to take on various levels of obligations to reduce\ud barriers in respective service sectors

    On the divine in Husserl

The paper deals with the ways in which Edmund Husserl develops the question of God. Six ways to reach God are shown as present in Husserl’s writings, some of them seem to be very close to the traditional philosophical ways to go as far as God (the objective and the subjective ways) others are very original, in particular the way that starts from the analysis of the hyletic sphere of the human being, a sphere which is present in all the reality too. At last it is possible to notice Husserl’s interest in the mystical approach to God

External and Fiscal Sustainability of the Czech Economy: A Quick Look Through the IMF's Night-Vision Goggles

The paper presents the rationale for spreadsheet-based debt sustainability assessments. Policymakers can use these exercises in two ways. First, assessments of possible debt developments provide 'reality checks' of macroeconomic projections. Second, the financial stability exercise may indicate vulnerability to crises. Empirically, using the IMF debt sustainability template, the paper finds that the external position of the Czech Republic appears sustainable under most plausible history-based scenarios. However, a deep, two-year recession coupled with fiscal indiscipline might double the 2002 stock of foreign debt by the end of the decade. The fiscal position is significantly more fragile and the fiscal debt-to-GDP ratio quickly approaches 60 percent under some of the more pronounced shocks.Debt sustainability, Macroeconomic projections, Vulnerability.
