Particle-in-cell simulations of rf breakdown
Breakdown voltages of a capacitively coupled radio frequency argon discharge
at 27 MHz are studied. We use a one-dimensional electrostatic PIC code to
investigate the effect of changing the secondary emission properties of the
electrodes on the breakdown voltage, particularly at low pd values. Simulation
results are compared with the available experimental results and a satisfactory
agreement is found.Comment: 12th International Congress on Plasma Physics, 25-29 October 2004,

Susceptibility, magnetization, and specific heat in the paramagnetic and ferromagnetic regions of (Y 1− x
An anomalous magnetic phase diagram for (Y1-xU x)B4 has previously been reported. This system is paramagnetic for x>0.6, ferromagnetic for 0.
Recommended from our members
Saturation magnetization in the anomalous ferromagnet, (Y, U)B4
For the (Y1-xUx)B4 system, long-range ferromagnetism only occurs for 0.0

Resistivity, susceptibility and specific heat of (Y1-xUx)B4
An anomalous magnetic phase diagram for dilutions of UB4 with YB4 had been previously established. The (Y1-xUx)B4 system is paramagnetic for x 0.6, ferromagnetic for 0.1 < x < 0.6 and paramagnetic for x < 0.1. Measurements of the resistivity and magnetic susceptibility for 1 K < T < 300 K and the low temperature specific heat are presented. The observed behavior is suggestive of a localization of the 5f electrons upon dilution of UB4 by YB4 due to the reduction of the 5f-5f overlap. © 1985
