    An Energy-conscious Transport Protocol for Multi-hop Wireless Networks

    We present a transport protocol whose goal is to reduce power consumption without compromising delivery requirements of applications. To meet its goal of energy efficiency, our transport protocol (1) contains mechanisms to balance end-to-end vs. local retransmissions; (2) minimizes acknowledgment traffic using receiver regulated rate-based ïŹ‚ow control combined with selected acknowledgements and in-network caching of packets; and (3) aggressively seeks to avoid any congestion-based packet loss. Within a recently developed ultra low-power multi-hop wireless network system, extensive simulations and experimental results demonstrate that our transport protocol meets its goal of preserving the energy efficiency of the underlying network.Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (NBCHC050053

    Discourse concerning state control concept on natural resources in Article 33 clause (3) of the 1945 Constitution is very dynamic. Such dynamic can be seen on a variety of conceptions of state control rights on natural resources formulated in various acts in natural resources area. Lack of single concept on ‘state control right\u27 will impact to unfavorable situation where natural resources shall escape from conception of state control right and into control not by the state. The Constitutional Court as the Guardian and Interpreter of the Constitution has a significant role to ascertain that an act in natural resources area really adopt the principle of state control on natural resources in Indonesia. This article analyzes on dynamics of conception of state control on natural resources in various acts and the role of the Constitutional Court in guarding and interpreting acts in natural resources in order to be in accordance with Article 33 clause (3) of the 1945 Constitution. From the result of analysis a conclusion is achieved that there are many different concepts of state control on natural resources in various acts in natural resources area. The Constitutional Court indeed has made interpretation on state control right. In order to make the conception stronger it is necessary to have an act in natural resources area as instruction of Article 33 clause (5) of the 1945 Constitution that further provisions of Article 33 shall be regulated by an act. Moreover, DPR (The House of Representatives) and the Government have to make certain or definite the concept of state control right in every draft bill of natural resources area so that liberalism and capitalism stream will not erode the principle of state control right

    Redi Permata Hati, Arkhan Subari, in this paper explain that batch Mixer is a tool that accommodates some of the raw materials to be mixed so that it becomes a USAble product. Raw materials can be a liquid, solid and gas. The use of raw materials and way of mixing the raw materials that distinguish Batch Mixer design at each industry. In this thesis, design Batch Mixer consists of two tanks, namely the mixing tank and tank heaters. In the mixing tank, there HCSR-04 Ultrasonic sensor that functions as a detector of the level of the liquid level, and the stirrer motor-driven DC 12 V. While the heater tank, there MAX6675 Thermocouple temperature sensor and heater. There are also three pumps that pump fluid 1, pump 2 and pump fluid mixing. Batch Mixer working process is controlled automatically using the Arduino Uno R3 displayed via HMI Raspberry Pi. The use Arduino Uno R3 allows users to create a variety of issues related to the microcontroller. The control system is used to control the work process in a plant. The control system in the Batch Mixer works by two indicators: the water level and water temperature. In the manufacturing system, water temperature control using PID control (Proportional Integral Derivative) with PID tuning method to find the value of Kp, Kd, and Ki. Based on test results, use the most optimal value for use PID control value Kp = 60, Ki = 0.005 and Kd = 0.5. By using the value of the achievement level will be faster and the value of the maximum error of 2.5% is still within the tolerance limits of 3%

    Modelling human factors in perceptual multimedia quality: On the role of personality and culture

    Perception of multimedia quality is shaped by a rich interplay between system, context, and human factors. While system and context factors are widely researched, few studies in this area consider human factors as sources of systematic variance. This paper presents an analysis on the influence of personality (Five-Factor Model) and cultural traits (Hofstede Model) on the perception of multimedia quality. A set of 144 video sequences (from 12 short movie excerpts) were rated by 114 participants from a cross-cultural population, producing 1232 ratings. On this data, three models are compared: a baseline model that only considers system factors; an extended model that includes personality and culture as human factors; and an optimistic model in which each participant is modeled as a random effect. An analysis shows that personality and cultural traits represent 9.3% of the variance attributable to human factors while human factors overall predict an equal or higher proportion of variance compared to system factors. In addition, the quality-enjoyment correlation varied across the movie excerpts. This suggests that human factors play an important role in perceptual multimedia quality, but further research to explore moderation effects and a broader range of human factors is warranted

    Phenomenology of 10^32 Dark Sectors

    We postulate an exact permutation symmetry acting on 10^32 Standard Model copies as the largest possible symmetry extension of the Standard Model. This setup automatically lowers the fundamental gravity cutoff down to TeV, and thus, accounts for the quantum stability of the weak scale. We study the phenomenology of this framework and show that below TeV energies the copies are well hidden, obeying all the existing observational bounds. Nevertheless, we identify a potential low energy window into the hidden world, the oscillation of the neutron into its dark copies. At the same time, proton decay can be suppressed by gauging the diagonal baryon number of the different copies. This framework offers an alternative approach to several particle physics questions. For example, we suggest a novel mechanism for generating naturally small neutrino masses that are suppressed by the number of neutrino species. The mirror copies of the Standard Model naturally house dark matter candidates. The general experimentally observable prediction of this scenario is an emergence of strong gravitational effects at the LHC.     Offshore Platform is a structure or construction which build in offshore territory to support the exploration process or the exploitation of mine. The main function of the offshore platform is to support the top construction including the operational facilities on the water during the operational time safely, in operational condition (normal) even in stormy condition. Modelling of the structure fixed jacket platform, the environment load and the analysis system using Finite Element Methode software. The environmental load (wind,wave,steam) according to 8 eyes wind (0⁰, 45⁰, 90⁰, 135⁰, 180⁰, 225⁰, 270⁰, and 315⁰). From the software analysis we can conclude that the biggest value of the Unity Check in stormy condition is 0.464 state in 766 member and the biggest value in Unity Check in operational condition is 0.396 state in 766 member. It is a good point because it suited with API RP2A WSD 2007, UC value (Unity Check) ≀ 1.00. So in operational condition even in stormy, fixed jacket platform still be able to withstand the material which is accepted. Another result from the minimum of Safety Factor in operational condition in 766 member has SF 2.00, beside in stormy condition which state in 766 member has 1.66 SF value. This result has a good point because it suited with API RP2A WSD 2007 which is in operational condition the minimum of SF value is 2.00 and in stormy condition the minimum of SF value is 1.5

    Resonance in Asymmetric Warped Geometry

    We study the spectrum of an asymmetric warped braneworld model with different AdS curvatures on either side of the brane. In addition to the RS-like modes we find a resonance state. Its mass is proportional to the geometric mean of the two AdS curvature scales, while the difference between them determines the strength of the resonance peak. There is a complementarity between the RS zero-mode and the resonance: making the asymmetry stronger weakens the zero-mode but strengthens the resonance, and vice versa.
