Controlled generation and steering of spatial gap solitons
We demonstrate the first fully controlled generation of immobile and slow
spatial gap solitons in nonlinear periodic systems with band-gap spectra, and
reveal the key features of gap solitons which distinguish them from
conventional counterparts, including a dynamical transformation of gap solitons
due to nonlinear inter-band coupling. We also predict theoretically and confirm
experimentally the effect of anomalous steering of gap solitons in
optically-induced photonic lattices.Comment: 4 pages, 5 figure
Nonlinear localized waves in a periodic medium
We analyze the existence and stability of nonlinear localized waves in a
periodic medium described by the Kronig-Penney model with a nonlinear defect.
We demonstrate the existence of a novel type of stable nonlinear band-gap
localized states, and also reveal an important physical mechanism of the
oscillatory wave instabilities associated with the band-gap resonances.Comment: 4 pages, 5 figure
One of features of network of virtual enterprises (VP) there is a presence of organizationally functional case frame which is responsible for efficiency and effectiveness of functioning of virtual productions in the conditions of fleeting requirements of user. However for today there is the unique expressly formulated method of construction of such model. It is related to complication of processes which take a place in the conditions of virtual productions. Therefore development of the formalized principles and going near the construction of organizationally functional case a virtual enterprise frame is a actually question.Одной из особенностей сети виртуальных предприятий (ВП) есть наличие организационно функциональной модели управления, которая отвечает за эффективность и результативность функционирования виртуальных производств в условиях быстротекущих требований потребителя. Spatial optical solitons in nonlinear photonic crystals
We study spatial optical solitons in a one-dimensional nonlinear photonic
crystal created by an array of thin-film nonlinear waveguides, the so-called
Dirac-comb nonlinear lattice. We analyze modulational instability of the
extended Bloch-wave modes and also investigate the existence and stability of
bright, dark, and ``twisted'' spatially localized modes in such periodic
structures. Additionally, we discuss both similarities and differences of our
general results with the simplified models of nonlinear periodic media
described by the discrete nonlinear Schrodinger equation, derived in the
tight-binding approximation, and the coupled-mode theory, valid for shallow
periodic modulations of the optical refractive index.Comment: 15 pages, 21 figure
International Conference Nuclear Energy for New Europe 2003 Computational Optimization of Efficiency and Safety of Cascade Scheme of the Subcritical Molten Salt Reactor
ABSTRACT To minimize the amounts of long-lived dangerous radioactive wastes a nuclear energy system is proposed with 3-component structure and nuclear fuel cycle closed by heavy metals. One of the components is Accelerator Driven Cascade Subcritical Molten Salt Reactor (AD CSMSR) for transmutation of long-lived radioactive wastes in closed nuclear fuel cycle. The results of the investigations of the main CSMSR parameters are presented in the paper. At present it is unlikely to reach high efficiency of cascade amplification, because it requires a very high level of neutron flux and hence too high level of the power density in the Inner Core. Such intensive heat production could not be reliably removed on the basis of nowadays level of technology. INTRODUCTION Minimization of amounts of dangerous long-lived radioactive waste can make Nuclear Power more acceptable for society. Investigations MOLTEN SALT CSMSR SCHEME In previous works preliminary requirements were determined to CSMSR scheme for chosen fuel, salt compositions and construction materials: • Average neutron flux in transmutation zone must not be less then 2⋅10 15 neutron/(cm 2 ⋅s) for effective incineration of minor actinides; • Molten salt circulation velocity must not be greater then 5 m/s to decrease construction materials erosion; • Limiting temperature for Hastelloy-H (870°С) and melting temperature for salt composition determine temperatures range in central zone from 650°С to 850°С
