    Get PDF
In this paper, the relationship between the creeping effect and mineralogical characteristics of the applied binding phase for various refractory materials (high-alumina materials, with high or low impurity content, tar bonded either magnesite or dolomite materials and silicate bonded chrom-magnesite materials) is presented. The mechanism of creeping is analyzed and the activation energy for creep for each investigated material is obtained and discussed. All investigated materials are creep sensitive under investigated conditions and have similar activation energies for creep except high-alumina refractories with a low impurity content.U radu je data veza puzanja vatrostalnih materijala i mineraloŔkih karakteristika vezivnih faza za različite vatrostalne materijale (visokoaluminatne, katranom vezane magnezitne, katranom vezane dolomitne materijale i silikatno vezane hrommagnezitne materijale). Pored toga analiziran je mehanizam puzanja i proračunata je energija aktivacije procesa puzanja za svaki od ispitivanih materijala

Textural properties of macroporous acid modified montmorillonite nanocomposites

Macroporous crosslinked copolymer, poly(glycidyl methacrylate-co-ethylene glycol dimethacrylate) and its nanocomposites with acid modified montmorillonite (WA) were synthesized by radical suspension copolymerization. Nanocomposites were obtained by introducing various amounts of WA into the reaction system. Textural properties of synthesized samples were analyzed by mercury intrusion porosimetry. The synthesized nanocomposites have significantly higher specific surface area in comparison to the copolymer. Total pore volume and the most dominant pore diameter decrease with incorporation of acid modified montmorillonite in copolymer matrix.Physical chemistry 2012 : 11th international conference on fundamental and applied aspects of physical chemistry; Belgrade (Serbia); 24-28 September 201

The review of nonwoven textile materials for medical application and medical textile products partially or en tirely made of nonvowens is presented. Medical textile is important sector of technical textile characterized with great diversity of products from simple wipes to sophisticated membranes. There is dynamic increase of consumption of this type of textile products during last thirty years and forecasts predict further increase of their consumption in near future. The types of textile fibers as well as the production lines for nonvowen textile materials most commonly used for medical products are discussed in this paper. Nonvowen textile materials might be applied for almost all types of medical textile products nonimplantable materials, extracorporeal devices, implantable materials health care/hygiene products.U ovom radu prikazani su netkani teksitlni materijali za primenu u medicini i medicinski tekstilni proizvodi izrađeni delimično ili u celini od netkanog tekstila.

From the progeny obtained by open-pollination of J. H. Hale cultivar, five midle late or late ripening hybrids were selected. During 1995 and 1996 important pomological properties of those hybrids were examined. Based on results of discriminant analysis, in the case when yield was taken as the most important character, the following order of hybrids was obtained: AO 21; AO 3; AO 10; AO 14; AO 6. When fruit weight was taken as the most important character, the following order of hybrids was obtained: AO 14; AO 6; AO 10; AO 21; AO 3, and when total sugar content was taken as the most important property, hybrids were classified as follow: AO 21; AO 3; AO 10; AO 6; AO 14

Characterization and behavior of anesthetic bioactive textile complex in vitro condition

In this study, a bioactive complex containing nonwoven textile material (polypropilene (PP)/viscose), chitosan hydrogel, and lidocaine hydrochloride, was designed. The purpose of such biomedical textile was in the treatment of painful sites. Mercury intrusion porosimetry was used in order to estimate the influence of medical impregnation on porous structure of nonwoven material. It was estimated that more than 97% of pores in untreated nonwoven sample were larger than 15 mu m. Anesthetic treatment of nonwoven reduced total pore volume of ultramacropores and macropores, while total pore volume of mesopores slightly increased. Lidocaine hydrochloride release from the anesthetic/chitosan hydrogel/nonwoven complex was measured in vitro by Franz diffusion cell technique. Mathematical model was developed to estimate the release of the lidocaine from obtained bioactive textile material. The diffusive transport of lidocaine hydrochloride through three connected layers, i.e., polymer hydrogel, membrane, and solution is modeled based on Fick's second law. Taking all the relevant conditions, regarding this experiment, into consideration, the coefficient of lidocaine diffusion through the polymer hydrogel, as well as the concentration ratio parameter were determined by the mathematical model

Structural and textural properties of Al,Fe-pillared clay catalysts

Metal oxide pillared interlayered clays (PILCs) represent a new class of materials that have found a wide range of potential applications including catalytic oxidative degradation of organic pollutants in water. Al,Fe-pillared smectite clays with different Fe content were synthesized for possible catalytic application. Starting clay and the obtained PILCs were characterized. Phase composition, textural and morphological properties of the starting clay and synthesized PILCs were determined using X-ray diffraction, physisorption of nitrogen and scanning electron microscopy. Chemical composition of the PILCs was determined using EDX. It was found that the synthesized PILCs have similar phasal composition, textural and morphological properties differing only in Fe content in accordance with the amount of Fe introduced to clay during the pillaring process

Glass sheets of uniform thickness, thinner than lmm, are commonly used, for example, in microelectronics, as small parts of electronic devices, and components in light microscopes, etc. Drawing glass from rectangular preforms into thin sheets is one of the manufacturing possibilities. In this paper the advantages of using a previously developed mathematical model 1ā€“3in the investigation and improvement of the process of drawing thin glass sheets from rectangular preforms are presented.Proceedings of the Ninth World Round Table Conference on Sintering (IX WRTCS), held in Belgrade, Yugoslavia, September 1-4 199
