It has been found that the appreciable magnetodielectric effect in the temperature range below the NΓ©el temperature (β‰ˆ10 K) takes place only at one magnetic field orientation H and one crystallographic direction, i.e., H || b. Such β€œselectivity” of the magnetodielectric effect correlates with the anisotropic behavior of magnetic properties of the crystal

    Y0.75Nd0.25Ba2Cu3O7βˆ’d superconductor has the peak effect with pronounced fishtail feature on magnetization hysteresis. The magnetic field of the peak effect maximum is in ~4 times higher than one of NdBa2Cu3O7βˆ’d. The magnetization hysteresis is tilted anticlockwise due to paramagnetic Nd3+ ions occurred on the surface of grains and in the vortex cores
