The article discusses the issues of fatigue fracture of steel structures and the method of increasing their strength through the use of reinforcing elements. The authors set the search for ways to improve steel structures and to reduce their metal intensity without reducing strength and increasing their resistance to fatigue failure, except for the use of expensive high-strength alloys. They have proposed a method for strengthening the structure and searching for its optimal shape of the loaded part, capable with a smaller wall thickness to withstand fatigue failure of steel structures of mine hoisting machines used to transport metallurgical coke in long-term operation. The results of computer modeling the stress-strain state of a steel beam under operating loads are given

Obesity and pregnancy: possible ways to overcome complications and improve reproductive outcomes

Introduction. Obesity, due to its high prevalence and relevance, can be considered an epidemic of modern society. Obesity-related microcirculatory vascular disease and chronic inflammation with endothelial dysfunction are associated with adverse effects on reproductive potential. Sulodexide reduces the risk of hemostatic complications in patients planning pregnancy due to its polypotent effect, which is especially important in metabolic disorders and comorbidities. Therefore, it is promising to assess the effectiveness of integrated management of obese patients as part of pregnancy planning. Aim. To modify the complex treatment of obesity in patients planning pregnancy to reduce the risk of reproductive losses and gestational complications. Materials and methods. The prospective analysis included 92 patients with grade 1 obesity. According to the clinical protocols and guidelines of the Reproductive Health Professional Medical Association, 46 patients in the control group (group 1) were prescribed treatment to reduce the body mass index, including lifestyle correction, folic acid, and vitamin D. Patients in the comparison group (Group 2, n=46) also received endotheliotropic agent sulodexide. The treatment efficacy was analyzed based on the frequency of pregnancy, the change of laboratory markers of endothelial dysfunction, the incidence of gestational complications, and reproductive losses. Results. The study showed that in comparison group patients, the frequency of pregnancy (58.7% of cases in Group 1, 71.7% in Group 1), favorable course of the first trimester (39.1% in Group 1, 63.0% in Group 2), and delivery at term (30.4% in Group 1, 56.5% in Group 2) were higher compared to the control group. There was also a more significant decrease in the body mass index and endothelial dysfunction factors (homocysteine level in group 1 before treatment was 172.4 mol/L, and 141.8 mol/L after treatment; 191.7 mol/L before treatment and 91.4 mol/L after treatment in Group 2, respectively) in patients receiving complex treatment with sulodexide. Analysis of the pregnancy course showed a lower risk of gestational diabetes (33.3% in Group 1 and 13.8% in Group 2). Conclusion. Treatment of obesity in patients planning pregnancy requires a complex effect aimed at correcting lifestyle, reducing body weight, restoring the endothelial layer, and reducing the severity of chronic inflammation, thus improving reproductive outcomes and minimizing the risk of gestational complications

Lie group analysis for multi-scale plasma dynamics

An application of approximate transformation groups to study dynamics of a system with distinct time scales is discussed. The utilization of the Krylov-Bogoliubov-Mitropolsky method of averaging to find solutions of the Lie equations is considered. Physical illustrations from the plasma kinetic theory demonstrate the potentialities of the suggested approach. Several examples of invariant solutions for the system of the Vlasov-Maxwell equations for the two-component (electron-ion) plasma are presented.Comment: Latex, 15 pages, 7 figure. Dependent coordinates in path integral measure factorization

The transformation of the path integral measure under the reduction procedure in the dynamical systems with a symmetry is considered. The investigation is carried out in the case of the Wiener--type path integrals that are used for description of the diffusion on a smooth compact Riemannian manifold with the given free isometric action of the compact semisimple unimodular Lie group. The transformation of the path integral, which factorizes the path integral measure, is based on the application of the optimal nonlinear filtering equation from the stochastic theory. The integral relation between the kernels of the original and reduced semigroup are obtained.Comment: LaTeX2e, 28 page

Susceptibility to SARS-CoV-2 Virus Variants of Concern in Mouse Models

The aim of the research was to assess the susceptibility of mice of different lines to newly emerging variants of SARS-CoV-2.Materials and methods. The SARS-CoV-2 virus strains belonging to variants of concern (VOC) circulating in the territory of the Russian Federation were used in the study. Experiments involved three inbred mouse lines (BALB/c, CBA and C57Bl/6z) and CD1 outbred mice taken from the nursery of the SSC VB “Vector” of the Rospotrebnadzor. The infectious titer of coronavirus in tissue samples obtained from the laboratory animals was determined on a Vero E6 cell culture. The (Ct) threshold value in RT-PCR was considered an additional parameter for monitoring the viral load in the samples. The severity of lung tissue damage was assessed using histological preparations. Results and discussion. The susceptibility of various mouse lines to the genetic variant Beta of the SARS-CoV-2 virus has been investigated. During intranasal infection of the inbred and outbred mice with strains of VOC at a dose of 2·103 TCID50, the virus replicated in the lungs with maximum concentrations 72 hours after infection. The pathogenicity of genetic variants of the SARS-CoV-2 virus for BALB/c mice has been assessed, a 50 % infectious dose for intranasal infection (ID50) determined. Histological analysis showed COVID-19-specific lung tissue lesions in infected animals. Our study proves that BALB/c mice can be used as a model animal in screening studies when evaluating the effectiveness of therapeutic, vaccine preparations and studying the pathogenesis caused by VOC of the SARS-CoV-2 virus: Alpha (B.1.1.7), Beta (B.1.351), Gamma (P.1), Omicron (B.1.1.529) and the like

Secţia Urologie IMSP Spitalul Clinic Republican, Catedra Urologie şi Nefrologie Chirurgicală USMF „N.Testemiţanu”, Al V-lea Congres de Urologie, Dializă şi Transplant Renal din Republica Moldova cu participare internaţională (1-13 iunie 2011)Summary. It is known that during the pregnant morbidity the extragenital pathology is ranked on the first place. Although the pregnancy is a physiologic phenomenon, the vulnerability of the organism in pregnancy is increasing, especially the cardiovascular system that should ensure a complex sanguine circuit – placenta, and of the kidneys that should detoxify a supplemental weight of fetus. The renal pathology in pregnancy occupies the second rank between extrauterine pathologies. Under the influence of some factors, the increasing of PNA in pregnant patients could be observed. Pyelonephritis in pregnancy is a complicated condition with no clear evolution and not very good prognosis for both - the mother and fetus. 49 pregnant patients were evaluated with PNA. In all cases, a treatment was adjusted with favorable results, that included ureteral catheterization and insertion of autostatic stent like JJ stent. The PNA treatment in pregnancy implies the JJ stent insertion, that has an essential role in decompression of renal pelvis and have minimal risk of complications. This contributes to reduction of treatment duration with antibiotics

The aim of the work was to study the pathogenicity of newly emerging variants of SARS-CoV-2 on the model of the Syrian golden hamster.Materials and methods. We used the strains of SARS-CoV-2 virus related to the VOC circulating in the territory of the Russian Federation. The experiments were carried out on outbreed Syrian hamsters obtained from the nursery of the SSC VB “Vector”. The infectious titer of coronavirus in tissue samples collected from infected laboratory animals was determined on a Vero E6 cell culture. The Ct in RT-PCR was considered an additional parameter for monitoring the viral load in the samples. The severity of lung tissue damage in Syrian hamsters with COVID-19 was assessed by histological preparations. Results and discussion. 50 % infecting doses in case of the intranasal infection have been determined, histological analysis of lung tissues performed. The pathogenicity of various variants of the SARS-CoV-2 virus for the Syrian hamster has been evaluated, differences in infecting doses and pathological changes in the lungs have been revealed. SARS-CoV-2 viruses belonging to Beta genetic variant have the highest virulence, while Alpha variant has the lowest one when comparing the studied strains by the ID50 value. The Delta and Omicron variants have a matched ability to cause specific damage to the tissues of the respiratory tract, while being inferior only to the Beta variant. It has been demonstrated that Syrian hamsters are an adequate model for assessing the pathogenicity of the SARS-CoV-2 virus variants of concern. Variants of SARS-CoV-2 virus during intranasal infection has shown different degree of pathogenicity in the Syrian hamster model

According to the World Health Organization, the number of patients of reproductive age with cancer steadily increases. Therefore, improving their quality of life is one of the priority tasks of the medical community. It is known that more than 30% of women with cancer at the time of diagnosis have not yet given birth. Therefore, one of the relevant issues is developing and improving methods for preserving reproductive function. In vitro oocyte maturation is a promising technique of oncofertility, which is used as an alternative to traditional cycles of ovulation stimulation followed by the production of mature oocytes. This review aims to study the in vitro maturation procedure and analyze the literature data regarding its effectiveness and safety when used as a part of programs for preserving reproductive material in patients with cancer
