DETERMINATION OF HALIDE IONS IN CINE-PHOTOMATERIALS BY IODINE(1) ELECTROGENERATED FROM CH//3I.
A procedure is proposed in the article for the successive coulometric determination of halide ions in cine-photomaterials with iodine in the positive degree of oxidation plus 1, electrogenerated from CH//3I in acetic acid. The electrogeneration of iodine(I) from molecular iodine in glacial acetic acid and its application for the determination of halide ions has been studied. In halide mixtures the iodide and bromine ions are determined together, while the iodide and chloride ions, and the bromide and chloride ions are determined successively
COULOMETRIC DETERMINATION OF THE EXTENT OF QUATERNIZATION OF POLYVINYLPYRIDINES.
The extent of quaternization can be monitored by determining the bromide ion concentration. When samples are dissolved in acetic acid, bromide ion is formed, the concentration of which depends on the degree of quaternization of the polyvinylpyridine. The electrogenerated iodine(I) forms a stable compound IBr with the bromide ion. It was established experimentally that electrophilic substitution by the iodine(I) on the pyridine ring does not occur
Possessive Form of Nouns and English Subjective Nouns
This article argues that the possessive form of English nouns of non-living things tends to correlate with the subjectivity of nouns. The subjectivity is likely to be a multi-leveled phenomenon. Though naming non-living things, some group of nouns are quasi-subjective that brings them to adopt a possessive form. The development of the possessive form is regarded as resulting from the typological transformation of the English language i.e. the move from an inflected language to an analytical one
Coulometric generation of molybdenum(VI) from a molybdenum electrode. Titration of lead(II)
Comparative analysis of model categories of English and Russion verbs
The article is dedicated to comparative analysis of modal categories of English and Russian verbs. The current interest of the article is that English and Russian model verbs are described within the frames of comparative analysis. English and Russian modal verbs are characterized from grammatical point of view as well as from semantic aspect. Modal verbs translation issues are treated in the article; the ways of their solving are offered
