Al-Substitution Effects on Physical Properties of the Colossal Magnetoresistance Compouns La0.67ca0.33mno3

We present a detailed study of the polycrystalline perovskite manganites La0.67Ca0.33AlxMn1-xO3 (x = 0, 0.1, 0.15, 0.5) at low temperatures and high magnetic fields, including electrical resistance, magnetization, ac susceptibility. The static magnetic susceptibility was also measured up to 1000 K. All the samples show colossal magnetoresistance behavior and the Curie temperatures decrease with Al doping. The data suggest the presence of correlated magnetic clusters near by the ferromagnetic transition. This appears to be a consequence of the structural and magnetic disorder created by the random distribution of Al atoms.Comment: 13 pages including 5 figure

Indirect NMR detection of 235U in gaseous uranium hexafluoride

The possibility to use nuclear magnetic resonance in indirect detection of the 235U nucleus in gaseous UF6 is discussed. The 19F absorption spectra linewidths in gaseous UF6 was investigated as a function of 235U enrichment, revealing a dependence on the isotope concentration. The 19F-235U indirect scalar coupling modulated by 235U quadrupole relaxation is the relaxation mechanism responsible for this enrichment effect.

Decision Support Systems to Promote Health and Well-being of People during their Working Age: the Case of the WorkingAge EU Project

    Get PDF
The WorkingAge project aims at improving the psycho-physical condition of workers, with a special focus on ageing subjects. In this context, a Decision Support System, based on a hybrid data-driven/model-driven approach, fed with data coming from environmental and wearable sensors, aims to provide personalised advises to the worker. In this paper we briefly present the WorkingAge project and architecture, and then focus on the decision-making pipeline that, starting from raw data, generates the advises

Synthesis and electron spin resonance of La2/3Ca1/3MnO3 nanowires

    No full text
La2/3Ca1/3MnO3 (LCMO) nanowires were prepared using a sol-gel process and an anodically oxidized aluminum template. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) shows that the nanowires are almost parallel and their diameter is around 40 nm. The temperature dependence of the electron spin resonance (ESR) linewidth is similar to that observed for the case of nanostructured LCMO. From this dependence, the determined magnetic transition temperature, T-C, of the LCMO nanowires, is of the order of 120-130 K.status: publishe
