Combing Euclidean buildings
For an arbitrary Euclidean building we define a certain combing, which
satisfies the `fellow traveller property' and admits a recursive definition.
Using this combing we prove that any group acting freely, cocompactly and by
order preserving automorphisms on a Euclidean building of one of the types
A_n,B_n,C_n admits a biautomatic structure.Comment: 32 pages. Published copy, also available at

Kinetics of non-ionic surfactant adsorption at a fluid-fluid interface from a micellar solution
The kinetics of non-ionic surfactant adsorption at a fluid-fluid interface
from a micellar solution is considered theoretically. Our model takes into
account the effect of micelle relaxation on the diffusion of the free
surfactant molecules. It is shown that non-ionic surfactants undergo either a
diffusion or a kinetically limited adsorption according to the characteristic
relaxation time of the micelles. This gives a new interpretation for the
observed dynamical surface tension of micellar solutions.Comment: 4 page
Nonlinear metal-dielectric nanoantennas for light switching and routing
We introduce a novel hybrid metal-dielectric nanoantenna composed of
dielectric (crystalline silicon) and metal (silver) nanoparticles. A
high-permittivity dielectric nanoparticle allows to achieve effective light
harvesting, and nonlinearity of a metal nanoparticle controls the radiation
direction. We show that the radiation pattern of such a nanoantenna can be
switched between the forward and backward directions by varying only the light
intensity around the level of 11 MW/cm, with the characteristic switching
time of 260 fs.Comment: 9 pages, 5 figures, submitted to New J. Phy
Subwavelength modulational instability and plasmon oscillons in nanoparticle arrays
We study modulational instability in nonlinear arrays of subwavelength
metallic nanoparticles, and analyze numerically nonlinear scenarios of the
instability development. We demonstrate that modulational instability can lead
to the formation of regular periodic or quasi-periodic modulations of the
polarization. We reveal that such nonlinear nanoparticle arrays can support
long-lived standing and moving oscillating nonlinear localized modes - plasmon
oscillons.Comment: 5 pages, 5 figures, published in Physical Review Letter
On the parametric X-rays along an emitting particle velocity
Parametric X-rays along an emitting particle velocity is studied for the Bragg scattering geometry. The absence of discussed radiation yield in the case of thick enough target when an influence of a photoabsorption plays an important role is predicted. The correct boundary conditions for an emission field at the out-surface of absorbing semi-infinite crystalline target are discussedyesBelgorod State Universit
