    Awareness, knowledge about breast feeding practices among urban mothers

    Background: The knowledge and awareness about breast feeding practices is influenced by educational qualification, type of family and support from the family. Till date in India under- 5 mortality rate is mostly due to improper nutrition to the children since birth and infectious diseases among children. The aim of this study is to assess the knowledge and awareness about breast feeding practices among urban women attending a tertiary care hospital Chennai, India. Methods: This hospital based; prospective, cross-sectional study was carried out among 200 antenatal women who visited a tertiary care hospital in Chennai. The data regarding the knowledge and awareness about breast feeding practices was collected. Results: Knowledge about breast feeding practices like time of initiation, food that facilitate the secretion of breast milk is more among educated mothers. The type of family also showed a significant effect on the awareness about breast feeding. Proper posture of breast feeding was also not known to most of the antenatal mothers. Conclusions: Antenatal women had poor knowledge about the posture of breast feeding, but awareness about the initiation of breast feeding, period of breast feeding and weaning period was satisfactory. Awareness about breast milk banking and storage of breast milk was also poor

    This paper aims to contextualize the idea of food tourism, not only as an attention-grabbing field of research, but in the contention that it can be utilized as a wider theoretical lens to propose a system for rationally identifying preferences of food / gastronomy / culinary tourists. This paper will make an attempt to put forward the insights currently underpinning the latest progress towards a more culturally responsive and critically orientated tourism research. More to the point, this study will be able to facilitate the practitioners to gain insights on the factors affecting satisfaction of tourists which will in turn lead to a boost in visits by foreign tourists to Malaysia. A conceptual framework consisting of 4 independent variables and 1 dependent variable has been proposed. Since there are limited numbers of studies on Gastronomy tourism in Malaysia, there is a need to study this significant topic

    Steady state behaviour in atomic three-level lambda and ladder systems with incoherent population pumping

    The steady state in three-level lambda and ladder systems is studied. It is well-known that in a lambda system this steady state is the coherent population trapping state, independent of the presence of spontaneous emission. In contrast, the steady state in a ladder system is in general not stable against radiative decay and exhibits a minimum in the population of the ground state. It is shown that incoherent population pumping destroys the stability of the coherent population trapping state in the lambda system and suppresses a previously discovered sharp dip in the steady state response. In the ladder system the observed minimum disappears in the presence of an incoherent pump on the upper transition.Comment: 4 pages, RevTex, 5 figures, to appear in Phys. Rev.

    Conceptualizing a Hybrid Framework to Help Improve Gender Outcomes in Water, Sanitation and Hygiene Programs in India

    Developing and managing water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) programs in a sustainable manner contributes to gender equity by improving men’s and women’s access to services and benefits. A gender-sensitive approach to ensure equity in WASH programs can achieve positive outcomes including participatory decision making, empowerment of women, and sustainable programs. Gender analysis frameworks have a long history in development practice to guide strengthened gender outcomes, and opportunities exist to learn from such frameworks to support implementation of WASH programs in developing countries, including India. This paper reviews seven well-established gender analysis frameworks from the Indian WASH context vis-à-vis six key categories, viewed as critical components to gender outcomes and vital to the sustained success of WASH programs, to develop an improved compilation, referred to as the hybrid framework. The hybrid framework combines the strengths of the seven previously established frameworks for optimizing gender outcomes and aims to identify the opportunities for both men and women to shape WASH programs to meet their intended gender and equity objectives. Lastly, this newly developed framework provides a potential platform for local-level processes to use a comprehensive set of quantitative and qualitative indicators under each of the developed six categories provided further field testing and appropriate modification

    Characterization of seasonal variations in responsiveness of pituitary gland to different doses of gonadotropin releasing hormone in buffalo cows

    In tropical countries such as India, it has been observed that a number of buffalo cows experience seasonal anestrous during summer months. This might be due to seasonal changes in responsiveness of pituitary gland to gonadotropin releasing hormone (GnRH) and/or decreased hypothalamic GnRH release. Attempts were made to characterize the responsiveness of pituitary gland to a range of doses (0.1, 1, 10 and 33 µg) of GnRH in terms of LH and progesterone (P4) secretions during summer (April-May) and rainy (September-November) months. As a part of these studies, a radioimmunoassay method for estimation of circulating LH in buffalo cows was standardized. During summer months, it was observed that in the presence of low circulating P4 levels the minimum dose of GnRH required for eliciting a significant increase in circulating LH levels was 10 µg/animal that corresponded to a dose of ~28 ng/kg BW. However, during rainy months, administration of the same dose of GnRH failed to elicit a response suggesting that the pituitary gland is not responsive to low doses of exogenous GnRH.  On the other hand, buffalo cows receiving a dose of 100 µg of GnRH during rainy months elicited a surge-like increase in circulating LH that peaked at 2 h and the increase in LH concentrations lasted for nearly 6 h post GnRH treatment. The results appear to suggest that during summer months the pituitary gland function is not affected, but there may be lowered hypothalamic GnRH input to the pituitary gland

The system contains various modules such as advertising , Social program, Tourist place, Parking place, Emergency calls etc. The system uses apriori algorithm for mining frequent ratings from user. This information is used to provide popularity of location. It also provides user’s feedback, ranking based suggestion in secured manner. The purpose of this system is to notify the user based on their preferences and their interest in the particular area and notify them using android application. This will lead to lower advertising costs and expenditures also save the time of user for finding the located area of ads with help of GPS

    Curie temperature engineering in a novel 2D analog of iron ore (hematene) via strain

    As a newly exfoliated magnetic 2D material from hematite, hematene is the most far-reaching ultrathin magnetic indirect bandgap semiconductor. We have carried out a detailed structural analysis of hematene via prefacing strain by means of first-principles calculations based on density functional theory (DFT). Hematene in the pristine form emerges out to be a magnetic semiconductor with a bandgap of 1.0/2.0 eV for the majority/minority spin channel. The dependence of magnetic anisotropy energy (MAE), TC, and the bandgap on compressive and tensile strains has been scanned exclusively. It is examined that TC depends firmly on the compressive strain and increases up to 21.1% at a compressive strain of 6% whereas it decreases significantly for tensile strain. The MAE is negatively correlated with the tensile and compressive strain. The value of MAE for all compressive strain cases is more than that of the pristine hematene. These results summarize that the studied 2D hematene has broad application prospects in spintronics, memory-based devices, and valleytronics

In this paper, we study approximate k nearest neighbor queries where the mobile user queries the area based company about approximate k nearest sights according to his current location. To judge the security within our solutions, we define a crook model internet hosting in queries. The security analysis has shown our solutions ensures both location privacy meaning the client does not reveal any longer understanding about his place for that LBS provider and query privacy meaning the client does not reveal what type of POIs he's interested in the LBS provider. We're feeling the mobile user can purchase his location from satellites anonymously, coupled with base station coupled with LBS provider don't collude to comprise the customer location privacy or susceptible to anonymous funnel. RSA is not a probabilistic file encryption plan. To alter RSA acquiring a probabilistic file encryption plan, we must be adding random bits for your message m before encrypting m with RSA. The goal of transporting this out must be to ensure the mobile user can buy only one in POIs per query.
