Substitution of galvanising by aluminising of steels
ALUMINISING has been accepted by the Government of
India as it substitute for galvanising because of
the existing scarcity of zinc. Zinc resources of our country are limited whereas minerals for extraction
of aluminium are available in plenty. The Hindustan
Steel (P ) Ltd., has decided to have provision for
strip aluminising plant at Rourkela and Tata Iron
and Steel Co. Ltd., may also be going for strip alum-inising adopting the Sendzimir Process . Bokaro Steel Plant has also made provision for aluminising of steel strip
Harmonic lattice behavior of two-dimensional colloidal crystals
Using positional data from video-microscopy and applying the equipartition
theorem for harmonic Hamiltonians, we determine the wave-vector-dependent
normal mode spring constants of a two-dimensional colloidal model crystal and
compare the measured band-structure to predictions of the harmonic lattice
theory. We find good agreement for both the transversal and the longitudinal
mode. For , the measured spring constants are consistent with the
elastic moduli of the crystal.Comment: 4 pages, 3 figures, submitte
Directed Surfaces in Disordered Media
The critical exponents for a class of one-dimensional models of interface
depinning in disordered media can be calculated through a mapping onto directed
percolation (DP). In higher dimensions these models give rise to directed
surfaces, which do not belong to the directed percolation universality class.
We formulate a scaling theory of directed surfaces, and calculate critical
exponents numerically, using a cellular automaton that locates the directed
surfaces without making reference to the dynamics of the underlying interface
growth models.Comment: 4 pages, REVTEX, 2 Postscript figures avaliable from [email protected]
Role of microRNAs (miRNAs) in the pathophysiology of Diabetes mellitus
© 2017 EDIZIONI MINERVA MEDICA. Diabetes mellitus is becoming the critical problem among the entire world and it is difficult to understand the molecular mechanism representing the concept of diabetic pathology. Recently the knowledge of the involvement of genetics in type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) susceptibility has sketched a great concentration towards the transcriptional activity of β cells within the pancreas. This disease becomes the leading cause of death, so it is necessary to study the molecular pathogenesis, phenotypes, and characteristics to design the therapeutic parameters. Here in this review role of miRNA is being illustrated as it plays a crucial role in the pathogenesis, progression, and fate of beta cells of pancreas regulating the insulin secretion. Here in this review, we try to include the effects and pathophysiology of various miRNA in diabetes mellitus and on the various sites of the human body
Transport on Directed Percolation Clusters
We study random lattice networks consisting of resistor like and diode like
bonds. For investigating the transport properties of these random resistor
diode networks we introduce a field theoretic Hamiltonian amenable to
renormalization group analysis. We focus on the average two-port resistance at
the transition from the nonpercolating to the directed percolating phase and
calculate the corresponding resistance exponent to two-loop order.
Moreover, we determine the backbone dimension of directed percolation
clusters to two-loop order. We obtain a scaling relation for that is in
agreement with well known scaling arguments.Comment: 4 page
A Matrix Hyperbolic Cosine Algorithm and Applications
In this paper, we generalize Spencer's hyperbolic cosine algorithm to the
matrix-valued setting. We apply the proposed algorithm to several problems by
analyzing its computational efficiency under two special cases of matrices; one
in which the matrices have a group structure and an other in which they have
rank-one. As an application of the former case, we present a deterministic
algorithm that, given the multiplication table of a finite group of size ,
it constructs an expanding Cayley graph of logarithmic degree in near-optimal
O(n^2 log^3 n) time. For the latter case, we present a fast deterministic
algorithm for spectral sparsification of positive semi-definite matrices, which
implies an improved deterministic algorithm for spectral graph sparsification
of dense graphs. In addition, we give an elementary connection between spectral
sparsification of positive semi-definite matrices and element-wise matrix
sparsification. As a consequence, we obtain improved element-wise
sparsification algorithms for diagonally dominant-like matrices.Comment: 16 pages, simplified proof and corrected acknowledging of prior work

GCR1 and GPA1 coupling regulates nitrate, cell wall, immunity and light responses in Arabidopsis
G-protein signaling components have been attributed many biological roles in plants but the extent of involvement of G-protein coupled receptor 1 (GCR1) with the Gα (GPA1) remained unknown. To address this, we have performed transcriptomic analyses on Arabidopsis gpa1-5gcr1-5 double mutant and identified 656 differentially expressed genes (DEGs). MapMan and Gene Ontology analyses revealed global transcriptional changes associated with external stimulus, cell wall organization/biogenesis and secondary metabolite process among others. Comparative transcriptomic analyses using the single and double mutants of gcr1-5 and gpa1-5 identified 194, 139 and 391 exclusive DEGs respectively, whereas 64 DEGs were common to all three mutants. Further, pair wise comparison of DEGs of double mutant with single mutants of gcr1-5 or gpa1-5 showed about one-third and over half common DEGs, respectively. Further analysis of the DEGs exclusive to the double mutant using protein-protein interaction networks revealed molecular complexes associated with nitrate and light signaling and plant-pathogen interactions among others. Physiological and molecular validation of nitrate-response revealed the sensitivity of germination to low N in the double mutant, and differential expression of nitrate transporter and nitrate reductase in all three mutants. Taken together, GCR1 and GPA1 work in partnership as well as independently to regulate different pathways
A comparative study of model ingredients: fragmentation in heavy-ion collisions using quantum molecular dynamics model
We aim to understand the role of NN cross-sections, equation of state as well
as different model ingredients such as width of Gaussian, clusterisation range
and different clusterisation algorithms in multifragmentation using quantum
molecular dynamics model. We notice that all model ingredients have sizable
effect on the fragment pattern.Comment: 12 Pages, 4 Figure
