Measurement of the half-life of 198Au in a non-metal: High-precision measurement shows no host-material dependence
We have measured the half-life of the beta decay of 198Au to be 2.6948(9) d,
with the nuclide sited in an insulating environment. Comparing this result with
the half-life we measured previously with a metallic environment, we find the
half-lives in both environments to be the same within 0.04%, thus contradicting
a prediction that screening from a "plasma" of quasi-free electrons in a metal
increases the half-life by as much as 7%
Gorenstein Projective Precovers
We prove that the class of Gorenstein projective modules is special precovering over any left GF-closed ring such that every Gorenstein projective module is Gorenstein flat and every Gorenstein flat module has finite Gorenstein projective dimension. This class of rings includes (strictly) Gorenstein rings, commutative noetherian rings of finite Krull dimension, as well as right coherent and left n-perfect rings. In Sect. 4 we give examples of left GF-closed rings that have the desired properties (every Gorenstein projective module is Gorenstein flat and every Gorenstein flat has finite Gorenstein projective dimension) and that are not right coherent

Today, passenger transport has become an indispensable life element, because it offers to the society members many travel possibilities. Modern civilisation, characterised by a massive trade of material and spiritual values, claims a continuous movement of goods and people from a place to another. Transport services are strongly influenced by the transition to the market economy, Romania’s geographical position and also by the life standard. Evaluation of Semantic Web Ontologies for Privacy Modelling in Smart Home Environments
The proliferation of smart devices gives rise to a new world of Ambient Intelligence, a world of technologies embedded in the surrounding environments, such as the home environment. As the success of such systems often depends on the collection on personal data, privacy concerns threaten to hinder this new world from reaching its full potential. At the same time, accurately modelling the different types of contextual information proves to be of paramount importance in paving the way towards the maturity of Ambient Intelligence systems, with Semantic Web ontologies becoming a popular solution. This paper aims to explore the application of Semantic Web ontologies in modelling privacy-related information in the context of smart home environments. To this purpose, we have conducted a practical evaluation of three ontologies, in an attempt to determine their suitability within the stated domain. The paper concludes that the representation of privacy features within smart home environments is attainable through the use of ontologies; however, current models do not achieve sufficient coverage of the domain. Lastly, the paper provides insights into practical ways of enhancing future ontologies in order to reach the required capabilities
