Multistage Voting Model with Alternative Elimination

The voting process is formalized as a multistage voting model with successive alternative elimination. A finite number of agents vote for one of the alternatives each round subject to their preferences. If the number of votes given to the alternative is less than a threshold, it gets eliminated from the game. A special subclass of repeated games that always stop after a finite number of stages is considered. Threshold updating rule is proposed. A computer simulation is used to illustrate two properties of these voting games

Modeling of the Labour Force Redistribution in Investment Projects with Account of their Delay

The mathematical model of the labour force redistribution in investment projects is presented in the article. The redistribution mode of funds, labour force in particular, according to the equal risk approach applied to the loss of some assets due to delay in all the investment projects is provided in the model. The sample of the developed model for three investment projects with the specified labour force volumes and their defined unit costs at the particular moment is given

In the article universal and ethnocultural ways of the gluttonic nomination in Russian and British linguistic culture are described. Linguistic-cultural correlations of foodstuff names and national character are chosen as an object of research. national character is considered as set of the steadiest features of emotional sensory perception of world around and forms of reactions to it for this national community. It is confirmed that national character, being expressed in emotions, feelings, moods, is manifested in existing language formsyesBelgorod State Universit

Uniaxial and multiaxial fatigue behaviour of wire arc additively manufactured ER70S-6 low carbon steel components

Wire arc additive manufacturing (WAAM), also known as directed energy deposition (DED) process, is an efficient additive manufacturing technology, offers high potential to rapidly fabricate large-scale parts with complex geometries layer-by-layer. However, the fundamental understanding of the fatigue behaviour of such parts and the material requirements need to be significantly improved at all levels before this unique technology can be implemented for critical applications. This work aims to investigate the fatigue behaviour of WAAM built ER70S-6 steel under uniaxial, torsion and multiaxial loading conditions. Specimens were extracted in two different orientations: vertical and horizontal, to explore if the orientation direction has any effect on the fatigue results. Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) was conducted to examine the fracture surface of broken specimens and identify crack initiation regions and fracture mechanisms. The obtained results were compared with the fatigue data available in the literature on common structural steels fabricated using conventional welding and WAAM technique, showing similar fatigue behaviour with wrought S355 specimens. Moreover, the uniaxial data set on ER70S-6 WAAM specimens was evaluated according to the DNV RP-C203 standard for continuous welds, demonstrating advantageous fatigue resistance in the examined material. © 2022 The Author(s

Scientific rationale for inclusion of a new nature complex Belyj Kolodez (Russia, Belgorod Region) into the emerald network

The article shows that there are resources for extending the national list of potential Areas of Special Conservation Interest (ASCI's) of the Emerald network in densely populated and old-developed regions. The representativeness of the Belyj Kolodez nature complex (Russia, Belgorod region) is substantiated. Based on the survey of the territory, the types of priority habitats were identified according to the EUNIR classificatio

Principles and experience of justification of ecological representativeness of Emerald network potential sites

The article presents the results of the multi-method research to provide justification of Emerald network potential site, which meets the requirements of environmental representativeness. Flora and vegetation of the core natural habitat, species composition and prevalence of the species of European importance and from the Red books of the country and region, as well as the habitats of European importance were systematized with the use of methods of botanical and geobotanical studie

Topological constraints on spiral wave dynamics in spherical geometries with inhomogeneous excitability

We analyze the way topological constraints and inhomogeneity in the excitability influence the dynamics of spiral waves on spheres and punctured spheres of excitable media. We generalize the definition of an index such that it characterizes not only each spiral but also each hole in punctured, oriented, compact, two-dimensional differentiable manifolds and show that the sum of the indices is conserved and zero. We also show that heterogeneity and geometry are responsible for the formation of various spiral wave attractors, in particular, pairs of spirals in which one spiral acts as a source and a second as a sink -- the latter similar to an antispiral. The results provide a basis for the analysis of the propagation of waves in heterogeneous excitable media in physical and biological systems.Comment: 5 pages, 6 Figures, major revisions, accepted for publication in Phys. The article considers the peculiarities of the eating behavior of pregnant patients. Most of them have eating disorders, which can affect the prognosis and course of pregnancy. A retrospective analysis was conducted, which identified the types of eating behavior of patients, possible factors that could provoke these disorders and their possible consequences. To improve the course of the gestational process, it is recommended to control the body weight of patients, change the lifestyle.

Bilingualism and biculturalism and teaching of modern languages: point of view of a teacher of french from Russia

More than 50% of the world's inhabitants are bilingual, and this percentage is expected to be increasing due to the increasing global mobility. Some people are bilingual because of the characteristics of their families, others because of migration, or because they live in a border area or a country that has several languages. Bilingualism is extremely widespread in Russia and in France. In this article, the actual and complex phenomenon of bilingualism in the contemporary cultural situation, in particular in the teaching of foreign languages, is considere
