[์˜๋ฌธ] This study is addressing new positioning through the analysis of SWOT which is based on the level of satisfaction of medical service in obstetric inpatients. The satisfaction level of obstetric patients has been investigated on before providing medical service and on after service by SERVQUAL measure and has been analyzed to find out the factors impacting to expectation and satisfaction, the differences of the level and the relationship between expectation and satisfaction in accordance with the level. The investigation includes the survey and interview with 100 patients in a hospital located in Seoul from April, 16, to May, 30, 2003. The followings were identified; According to the sociobiological factors analyzing the satisfaction level, younger ages, well educated patient were getting more satisfied and religion indicates also positive relation with satisfaction. However, it''s hard for the patient, who had experienced in obstetrics, being satisfied. In comparing the expectation and the actual value of satisfaction, the capability of nurse effects more satisfaction, but the advanced technology equipments made worse. In analysing the factors impacting to the expectation and the achieved value, kindness of staff and expertness of medical staff were recognized as a important factor effecting to the satisfaction. Kindness also shows positive perception, but the expertness shows negative perception. In accordance with the regressive analysis to identify the general factors, normal period of pregnancy shows a good satisfaction, but high income has showed negative satisfaction. As a conclusion, the kindness of staff was identified to be a positive factor impacting to the satisfaction, but the advanced technology equipments among expertness factor has shown a gap between the expectation and the achieved value. Therefore it is proposed that a hospital needs to develop their own strategy for the differences to give more satisfaction to the patients. One example would be providing a better kindness. Furthermore, it should be noted that the advanced technology equipment doesn''t meet the patients'' expectation. So it would be also required to develop the methods of curing when those equipments are used, in order to give more satisfaction to the patients, so that the third category hospital may improve the management of hospital. It is also suggested further that the future study may need to expand the scope of the research in order to find more data and then to give more satisfaction to the patients.ope
